OK. Some of you may notice that there are now Google ads being placed between posts in the middle of threads. This is usually between the first and second posts in a thread.
This is a new thing that Proboards has decided to do, and will occur everywhere. Pretty much the only thing I can do about it is purchase ad-free services--which cost $7.00 per month. Although I wouldn't be opposed to paying for it (I always did with EZ Board), this is more expensive than I would have liked. So... we're going to have to try and live with it.
I just thought I would address this now before you all start to wonder what's going on.

And just to elaborate a little bit....
This is only a test for now that Proboards is doing. On April 16th, they will decide to either:
a) Keep the ads in the current position
b) Move the ads to somewhere else on each board
c) Give the Admin of each board the choice to either leave them where they currently are or put them somewhere else
So hopefully they will decide to either move them or give each admin the choice of where to put them. Personally, I hate them between the first and second post of each thread.

Yeah, there was a lot of discussion over at the Support board about them. They really are ugly, aren't they? Very distracting. I'd go ad free if it wasn't so expensive.

damn right! but neither one of us have that kind of change! i think it's going to end up disrupting the flow of the threads.

Yeah, I can't even begin to understand why they had to put them right in the middle of the thread, other than for obvious reasons- better advertisement. But I think its pretty likely that they will move them elsewhere or allow Admins to choose where they want them. There's been quite a bit of negative feedback on the Proboards support board.
