Jamie had been searching around for the guy that had asked Amandine to the Ball, although the attack had made it a little hard for him. The recorvery process had taken longer then he had expected, but now, with most of immediate family better, he set out to the mission once again.
Walking around wasn't recommended by the nurses, and Jamie decided to sit in teh chair that he had first sat in while thinking over this subject. He rested his head against the wodden frame and bit his lip. He wasn't sure how he could get this guy alone without Ama hearing about it.

Dillon had just got done talking to his DADA teacher about his make up work and the best ways to get caught up. He did have a lot of work to catch up on because of his transferring in the middle of the year. He was getting close in most classes, but DADA was one of the harder ones to get caught up without actually being in the lecture. He was flipping through his course book as he walked in the common room. He kept his head in his book as he sat down in a chair by the fire. He unwound his scarf and sat it beside him and continued to read. He didn't even pay attention to anyone else in the room. He pushed his glasses back up on his nose and continued to read.

Jamie stared at the guy across from him, almost shocked that finding the kid had been so easy. He had just sat down almost across from Jamie reading a book in an oblivious manner, with no one else around to keep Jamie from saying anything. Jamie bit his lip, thinking of what to say before clearly stating, "hey."
Jamie wasn't going to give this guy a speech, but he was certainly not going to let him off easily.

Dillon was slightly startled he hadn't really noticed anyone else in the room with his head in the book. He jumped and looked up. "Oh hey," he said looking at the guy in wonder. 'Wonder what he wants' he thought. Even thought he had heard of the Ferreras he had not actually met them.

Jamie noticed how involved he had been in the book. This made Jamie feel only slightly better about Dillon as a human being, although nbot enough that Jamie let off the pure hatred he held for the boy for the only fact that Dillon was taking his sister to some dumb ball.
"What's your name?" Jamie's eyes narrowed. "I'm Jamie."

Dillon saw the boys eyes narrow at him in a sort of glare, he was starting to get confused. When he said he was Jamie he assumed it was Jamie Ferrera and it all made a little more since.
"I'm Dillon," he said wondering what Jamie was about to say to him.

"Dillon."
Jamie said his name very quietly and precisely. Dillon had given him a small look of confusion for a second, but he looked pretty calm at the moment. He wasn't sure what to read out of that, but he thought it might be a good sign. People who had something to hide were usually squirming or making excuses to get away.
Jamie sat up in his chair and said, "so you're taking my sister to this ball."

Dillon figured out why Jamie was talking to him as soon as he mentioned his sister. He grinned. "Yes, I am taking her to the ball," he said in a questioning tone. Dillon gave him a where are you going with this look.

Jamie took the look from Dillon, and sighed mentally. This guy wasn't letting up on anything. Jamie wasn't quite sure what he wanted with Dillon. Throwing himself on the ground to beg for permission seemed like ample work, but then Jamie couldn't nessecarily count on him to protect Ama from something if anything happened. Dillon was holding his own, and Jamie would have done the same.
"Tell me," Jamie said lowly. "About yourself. You understand."
The "understand" comment was more of a threat then a request or an explanation. If Dillon didn't say at least something, Jamie was going to tie Amandine in a closet and not let her out until she was at least 40. Dillon seemed like a typical guy, and if this is what Ama was up to for dating, then she wasn't going to date ever.

Dillon saw the look on Jamie's face and slightly rolled his eyes. Overprotective older brothers he sighed to himself. He thought about just telling him his favorite color but decided against it he wasn't in a mood to deal with confrontation.
"I'm a transfer," he said with one eyebrow raised. "I haven't been here very long, so I don't have much of a reputation at Hogwarts. So I'm guessing that is why your here trying to find everything out from me," he said as he closed his book and leaned back in his chair.

Although Dillon's attitude towards the situation was open and kind about it, Jamie automatically didn't like that fact that the guy had rolled his eyes, however slight it had been. Jamie didn't like him already, and although his eyes and posture didn't change, his voice certainly had.
"Grades," Jamie said shortly and sourly. "Friends."

Dillon saw that Jamie was getting in a bad attitude. He wondered how this would end. It was starting to get interesting. He had been through this speech a hundred times before from people at his old school, not because he had dated a lot of girls just because he had that reputation. At his old school if he even looked at a girl if she had a brother they were all over him.
"My grades are excellent" he said with a grin "top in my class at my other school. As for friends...I have only been here a few weeks. I don't particularly have any yet. Any other questions," he asked.
He did think this was quite ridiculous he hadn't done anything to offend the guy. He never did, he just got drilled. It was a tiring routine.

"Friends at your other school." Jamie directed monotonously. You could always infer a lot of a person by the way their friends acted. He was dead set on understanding Dillon, and he was probably being a complete prick about it. But he didn't mind hurting anyone's feelings. He was an older brother, not a peace maker.
Subconsciensly. though, Jamie hoped he didn't take it personally. It would have been done for any guy who tried to take Ama anywhere.

Dillon sighed. "I had a lot of friends, my best friend was my older brother," he said. "Look Jamie if you want to be my friend, fine. I think we should get to know each other cause that is what friends do. But if you are just here to drill me all because I talked to your sister then I'm done here," he said in an even tone. Dillon was tired of people like Jamie trying to push him around. Dillon knew he was a trouble maker but he wasn't all that bad of a guy.

Jamie heard that he was very close with his brother, and for some reason, that made Jamie a lot less tense. He was somewhat like Ama and himself, and that made him feel a lot less tense. But when Dillon stood up for himself, Jamie was caught. Was his courage a good or bad thing? He probably would have done the same thing if Scarlette had an older brother who had made Jamie sit down and talk.
Jamie was starting to like this guy.
"I'm not here to be your friend," Jamie said, but only half seriously. "I'm here as Ama's brother." Dillon's next move would decide on if Jamie could accept Dillon as responsible. If he didn't pick up on the sarcasm, as light as it was, Jamie would shut this thing down. But if he handled it well and maybe made a joke back, then Jamie could full well be friends with him.

Dillon saw Jamie's jaw loosen a little. Dillon grinned 'good now he wont look like he is in pain when he is talking' he thought to himself. Dillon did note the slight sarcasm but also did understand that he really was here as her brother first.
"Brother or friend," he asked. "Because personally I hated being known as Logan's little brother. I was determined to prove that I had a name and I finally have that here, its nice." He said readjusting his glasses. "So, are you going to put aside your macho big brother routine and realize that people are people. That if you don't let your sister experience things for her self she will never learn how to handle life," he asked tilting his head a little to the side. "Or are you going to try and live her life for her," he asked leaning back in his chair and intertwining his fingers fiddling with his thumbs. Something he had a tendency to do when he got bored. He looked at Jamie square in the eyes and waited a response.

Jamie's eyes hardened, and he went back to rigid. He listened carefully, and what Dillon said made sense. He was very overprotective, and Jamie probably did keep Ama back a bit. But not enough that he would actually keep her from doing things that actually mattered in life. She was 14, not 17. When he left enxt year, she could live all she wanted. But not when he was here to make sure Ama lived a happy non chalant life while she could. There was a war going on, and no way that Jamie'd let her see how many people could get hurt.
"Well, Dillon. As much as it's been nice to talk to you," Jamie was being sarcastic again. "I need to stick with brother. I'll ask her if she hates being a Ferrera, and if she does, then maybe I'll take your advice."
Jamie stood up and turned around, starting to walk out the door. He was going to find Ama, and see if she hated being his known as his little sister. If so, then she was just going to have to deal.
(OCC: I apologize to Dillon. I'm not very nice to you.)

Dillon watched his facial expression harden again and he sighed, there was no pleasing this guy. "I didn't say she would hate being your sister. I'm just saying you might be a little to protective. But if you feel the need to storm out, then just think about it." He said to Jamie's back he readjusted his glasses and picked his book back up. "Have a nice day," he said in a sarcastic tone. He had tried to keep his attitude out of this to try to knock some since into the guy because Dillon had been in Ama's position before and he understood that being to protected was annoying sometimes. But since he wasn't going to listen there was no real point in keeping his attitude under control. Plus he started the sarcastic battle, what was Dillon supposed to do wimp out? No, never. Dillon chuckled and went back to reading his book.
