Judah left Roland at the bar and returned home for dinner. He knew that Suri would have something ready and he didn't want to disappoint her by being late.
Arriving home, he took off his cloak and hung it in the closet by the door and walked into the house. Decorations hung around the house, along with pictures of the family. A half smile appeared on Judah's face as he looked at a few old pictures on the wall.
"I'm home," he called walking into the dining room.

The last plate was set on the table as the door swung open in the foyer. Suri rushed to take off her apron, and draped it across a chair on the dining table across from where she had set up the two seats where they'd be eating.
After Judah had called to confirm he was home, Suri gave a big smile and walked gracefully to the entrance of the foyer. "Oh, Jude!" She flickered a dream- like smile and gave him a light kiss on the cheek before motioning to the dining room. "I made your favourite."

At the sight of Suri, Judah's half smile turned into a brighter one. She was a sight that could make him smile even if he wasn't feeling up to it. "Suri," he greeted her as she kissed his cheek.
He took her hand, as he always did, and walked with her to the dining room. "You're too good to me," Judah said leaning over to kiss her cheek. When they entered the dining room, he walked her to her chair and pulled it out for her motioning for her to take a seat.

Suri graciously took it and waited for Judah to sit down before frowning slightly and asking, "how was your day? I didn't see you at the offices today." She scooped a small amount of food on to her plate, and looked at him curiously.
Suri knew it was completely obsessive of her to worry about all her children and her husband. And although her husband was most capable, she worried about him almost above her children. Liam and Sheena were in Hogwarts, and Suri knew Dumbledore was trustworthy and would protect the children with his life. But Hayden and Judah weren't under that omnious protection.
It was normal for any mother to wonder about where her family was at any given point in time. Suri tried constantly to supress the urge to keep a looking glass mirror on every one of them. She was doing wonderfully, but those questions would always come up once in a while.

Judah made sure that Suri was seated comfortably before he walked over and took his own seat. "Today as been pretty good. I was in and out of the office just checking up on a few things," he said casually. "Nothing dangerous." He knew how much Suri worried about everyone. That was one of the things that he admired about her.
"Afterword, I went looking for Roland since I haven't seen him in awhile. Once I found him, we just talked for a bit." Judah took the food once Suri was finished and scooped a little on his plate before looking back at her. "Has Cara owled you yet about getting together for Christmas this year? I think it would be nice if we could do that, after all we haven't had an entire family gathering in a good while."
A smile crossed his face again. "How was your day?"

Suri heard his answer and was content. It wasn't enough that he said it wasn't dangerous, because nothing wasn't dangerous anymoure. But it certainly helped that he had told he that anyway, "Roland? I haven't seen him in quite a while." Suri's voice went to it's usual whimsical tone. She took a bite and swalloed before saying, "how is everything with him? I heard he went to appeal for Mara and Lina. I admire him."
"No, I haven't seen or heard from Cara in almost a week. The whole family is getting together?" Curiosity sparked. Would they see Emelia, and her nephews from long ago? Suri hadn't even met one of them yet- Axel.
"And my day was basic. I did a lot of paper work and trailing in the office." She rest her face in her hands for a few seconds before saying, "I don't get how they keep slipping through our fingers."

"Everything is good with Roland," he said. "He's still the same Roland he's been." Judah took his fork and scooped up a bite. "Mathieu and I were talking about possibly having Emelia over. We're hoping that she'll come since we haven't seen her in a good while. He's planning on stopping by her house sometime soon, and I plan on visiting her as well sometime." Judah wouldn't really care if Malfoy was there, but he was going to attempt to time it just right so that he was at work and he could talk to Emelia alone.
He took a few bites off his plate and then glanced over at Suri again. "They're just one step ahead of us, but we're going to be working twice as hard and I have a feeling that we might be able to catch one."

"Emelia..." Suri echoed softly. Suri had met Emelia briefly throughout the years. SHe had disappeared, and wasn't spoke of too often, but every once in a while, the girl version would pop up in a nostalgic tale. She seemed just like Judah and Matheiu, and that was definately not a bad thing. "I hope you get her to come! I'd love to speak with her again. And see the boys..." She purposefully left Blake's name out. She wasn't looking forward to awkward conversations with the cold man.
"There always one step ahead of us! And that's one step covered in bodies of people we can't lose..." Suri was frusturated. She hoped she didn't sound mad at her husband, there wasn't anything he could do that would make her mad. "One will be replaced by three, and those three will be replaced by twenty!" Suri had stopped eating to making a giant pile of food on her plate. It was a bad habit, playing with food, when she was nervous.

"I hope that we get her to come too. It's been far too long." Judah noticed that Suri didn't mention Malfoy. Of course he didn't care about him either, nor did any of the family.
As she started to talk about work, he could see that she was getting mad. Judah knew that she wasn't mad at him. That was another thing he admired about Suri. She was passionate, not only about her family, but work as well. He looked at her affectionately. "We'll do whatever we can to get them."

"I do, too," Suri gave a very slight smile. "I hope they start coming to see us more as well."
She stopped playing to look Judah right in the eye with a complete focus that Suri was not known for doing, "I know everyone is. I just hope they can get one soon. Something bad will happen soon, I don't think their leader," she said the word 'leader' as if it were dirt. "can go much longer without flaunting his power over us." She reached out and touched Judah's hand lightly. "I hope it doesn't affect us too much."

He turned his hand over to hold Suri's. "I hope so too love," Judah said. Now, the aurors would be more on alert than they had before and that could work to their advantage. He did have the feeling that it would only get worse before it got better, much like everything did. Judah just hoped that they could prevent things from getting too bad.
"Although, let's not spoil dinner with talk of work, hm? There's always time to talk about it afterwords." Judah gave her gentle smile.

Suri gave his hand a squeeze, "you're right, Jude. We can talk about it later if the opportunity presents itself." She let go of his hand to pick up a roll and nimble on it for a second before asking, "have you heard from Sheena or Liam lately? I must have missed their owls or something. It's been a week or two..."
Suri swirled btter on the roll, eyeing Judah for the answer. It made her uncomfortable to not have heard from her children in such a long time. When they had been little, they wrote every day, and she loved seeing progress. But now, it seemed lucky to get a letter a week.

"I haven't heard from them," he said picking up a piece of bread. Judah glanced over to Suri. "I know, you're worried about them and I'll know what you'll say when I tell you don't worry. I'm sure that they're just fine. They could be busy. After all, there is supposed to be some kind of dance at school and they're probably busy with that along with school work. They'll owl us soon, promise."
He smiled before biting into his bread. Sheena and Liam did send an owl every once and awhile, and Judah knew that Suri wanted to hear from them more than what she did. Judah was the same, but he knew that their children were growing and sometimes school would get them so riled up that they could just forget to owl.
"Plus, they have Jamie and Ama there. I'm positive that they're perfectly fine, but I do believe Roland might be checking up on Jamie and Ama soon. He'll probably see Sheena and Liam, but if it will make you feel better, we could check in on them soon."

"Oh, you're right," she sighed half heartedly at her husband's prediction of her response. She was quite predictable when it came to her anxiety about her children. But she perked up almost immediately when she heard there was a dance going on. "Dance?" She inquired. "As in a formal?"
Perhaps she could take Sheena out shopping for a dress. Or get Liam new dress robes. She could drop in easily any time at Hogsmeade, or even have them come home for a weekend, and Hayden could join them and have a big family dinner. Suri started the scene in her mind, already planning food items and decorations.
"Jamie and Ama? I haven't seen them in ages? How old are they again? Very close to Liam and Sheena, of course..."

He chuckled at Suri's response to the dance. Judah knew that Suri was probably hoping to take the children shopping or something along those lines. "Yes, formal," he said. "I don't know too many details on the dance. Haven't heard if Liam or Sheena have dates or anything, but we can wait until they tell us, right?" Judah smiled teasingly at his wife.
"Jamie is seventeen now and Amandine is fourteen. They're all growing so quickly."

"Of course, we'll wait," Suri replied absentmindedly, knowing her husband was positive she wouldn't. "But it might help if we have them over to dinner, yes?" She asked eagerly. "We could bring Hayden over too! A small family reunion..." She trailed off, searching Judah's eyes for approval.
"Goodness, I should have kept up. Cara never mentions ages, just circumstances. I can't wait to see them over Christmas!"

Judah did know that Suri would find some way to contact the children and ask about the dance. "Yes," he said still smiling at her eagerness. He knew how much family time together mattered to Suri and he would do what he could to make sure that it happened. "Maybe we can get Hayden if he's not too busy with his mission at the moment. I think it would be good for all of us to be together again."
He took a drink from his glass. "Speaking of dinner, whenever I ran into Roland this evening, I invited him over for dinner tomorrow. I figured that you would enjoy seeing him."

"Oh! I'll owl everyone tonight!" Suri put her hand to her mouth, pressing it to her lips. It was a natural habit of hers, occuring whenever she was excited. "We can find out about school, and friends... And work, for Hayden of course." SHe was fumming, and a little hard to hear with her hand over her mouth as it was, but that didn't stop Suri from almost dancing around.
"And of course! Oh, I know I can make something great for him. Roland's living by himself, isn't he? Maybe a care package to go home, as well!"

He could just barely make out what Suri said and he nodded in agreement. "We can find everything out as long as they're willing to tell us." Judah fought from laughing at Suri's excitement. Sometimes she could be as excited as a little child at Christmas time. He lived to see her excited.
"He is living by himself, and I'm sure that he'd love a care package to go home with him. If you want, I can help you make a few things." Judah wasn't exactly the perfect cook, but there were a few things that he could make without a problem.

"Yes. exactly. as long as they're willing to tell us," SUri repeated absent mindedly. "When would be good for you? Because I'll have to talk to Dumbledore. Maybe this weekend?" She took her hand away from her mouth and smiled. "It will be just like the summer holidays!"
"Oh, of course! I love having you home for a day or two ever once in a while. We can see what you can come up with," Suri winked, knowing of a couple of disasters and some delicious entrees as well.
