[Angelo De Luca]

Angelo sat on the edge of the library, reading a small book about potions. He was frusturated, unsure of what to do to make a simple potion that Slughorn informed him he should have been able to do in third year. WHat he needed was a tutor, but he wouldn't ever admit it.

Surpirsingly. he was alone. It was hard to find Angelo alone. He never was by himself. He enjoyed people's company, and he loved hearing people talk about anything.

Brynn walked into the library. She had inadvertantly blown up her copy of The Standard Book of Spells: Grade 3 and was about to look through the library for a back up copy until her father could send her a new copy.

The rows of books were in alphabetical order. "Lycanthropy...Muggle dieseases..." Brynn read aloud. "Nargles, what in the world? ...Owls... Potions, oops!" Brynn tripped over the feet of a boyt sitting on the floor, reading a potions book. "I'm sorry," Brynn said. "Didn't see you there," she smiled. She continued until she found the book she was looking for, then turned back to th boy on the ground. He seemed a bit older than Brynn, maybe 6th or 7th year. But he was reading a 3rd year potions book. She looked between the boy and the book curiously.

Angelo's head snapped up when he felt someone trip over his legs. He didn't mean to have them in the path, in fact, he barely noticed. He searched for any sign of pain on her face before he realized she was studying him. And the embarrassing book he was reading. He laughed, unaffected by the outcome of the situation.

"Hey, I don;t think I've seen you before, and I make it a point to meet everyone. I'm Angelo," he held out his hand in a gesture to shake.

The girl in front of him had dark brown hair, simliarly to his. Many people had hair close in hue to his, so it didn't flip a switch in his mind. She looked nice, and he always got along with new people.

"Brynn," she said, shaking Angelo's hand. "Nice to meet you," her voice was quiet and somewhat mousy. She was naturally shy, but Brynn felt like she was going to get along with Angelo just fine. So she slid down onto the floor beside him, bending her knees up to her chest.

"Um, if you don't mind me asking," Brynn said quietly, her eyes not exactly meeting his. "But, can I ask why you're reading a 3rd year level potions book?" She blushed, embarrased for asking.

He gave her a little more room, and started to laugh a little, "well, you see. I am not the world's brightest candle in the Dining Hall, and I'm a little behind for being a seventh year. But hey, I'm putting in effort, aren't I?" He gave another laugh, "what year are you in, Brynn, my dear?"

Angelo wasn't known for beating around the bush. He was very frank with his unintelligence, but he wasn't one to dwell on shortcomings.

[Brynn De Luca]

"Um, thrid," Brynn said shyly. She looked up at Angelo from behind her long brown bangs and smiled sheepishly. "Is Professor Slughorn makinging you study all these potions?" she asked quietly. She found herself to be pretty good in Potions, and if Angelo wanted help, Brynn would surely offer it.

[Angelo De Luca]

"Third? You look older," he shrugged and smiled at her, studying her shy posture. "Easily." He confirmed. "Just gotta be a bit more there, you know? Confidence?" He suggested, widening his smile.

"But nope, I'm doing this on my own. I think a seventeen year old should know more then a thirteen year old, no offense. It just seems like I'm a little behind. It's this ridiculous potion right here." He flipped to the potion on healing burns, something he somehow couldn't get thorough his mind.

[Brynn De Luca]

Brynn looked at the potion Angelo was currently studying. Burn Remedies were always difficult, something Brynn thought was a bit cruel, since the one who would be making the potion would already be in enough stress due to the burns, they also had to get the complexity of the potion just right.

"Well," Brynn said. "It doesn't say it in the text book, but if you reed sorta in-between the lines, you should add a third counter clockwise stir to every few minutes or so." Then she bit her lip. Didn't he just say he didn't want help?

"Really!" Angelo's entire face brightened considerabley. "Stroke of genius!" He exclaimed, running his memories through a screen, watching himself not add an extra counter clockwise turn to every three minutes or so. "How did you figure that out? You're pretty smart, aren;t you?"

[Brynn De Luca]

"I...I wouldn't say that," Brynn replied, blush rising to her cheeks again. "I'm just good at potions." She said. Truthfully, some of her other classes were not as easy for her as potions was. Transfiguration, for instance, was a subject Brynn planned on staying far away from in the future. "I'm glad I could help," she said.

[Angelo De Luca]

"Thank you," Angelo insisted. "If you ever have any trouble with anything, try and contact me. It's not that difficult, I'm always around." He looked at her robes, trying to determine which house she was in, "And look at that! You're in my house. It should be easy to find me, shouldn't it?" He laughed.

[Brynn De Luca]

"Yea?" Brynn asked. "Cool, thanks, I will," she smiled.

"We are in the same house aren't we? Why haven't I seen you around before?"

[Angelo De Luca]

"That we are," Angelo slapped the book closed, resting his head against the wall behind him. "I'm not sure why we haven't seen each other. Are you new to this school? I make it a point to try and meet everyone in this school."

Angelo was wracking his mind for a mental note that he had a met a brynn before. He hadn't, and it was incredibley weird. She looked familiar enough, but the features just didn't fit together. It was almost like a puzzle, but Angelo shrugged it off.

Brynn simply shook her head as the answer to Angelo's question. He too looked familar, but Brynn couldn't place it. "I guess what matters is that we met now, Isn't it?" she asked shyly, but her smile whas bright and cheerful.

"True, true," Angelo gave her a pat on the back before standing up and brushing off. "Well, tell me a little something about yourself, Brynn. What's your favorite color? What's your middle name?" He coaxed.

This girl was shy, but Angelo had dealt with worse before. He didn't look her in the eye when asking, knowing that might be intimdating. Instead, he just looked at the stacks of books infront of both them.

Brynn giggled as Angelo asked her random questions. "My favorite color is red," Brynn said. She flipped through her charms book she had picked up, but didn't really look at the pages. "And my middle name is Louise," she said. She giggled again. "Your turn," she said. "Same questions."

[Angelo De Luca]

"Well," Angelo smiled, glad she was getting more comfortable. "My favorite color is blue. It's pretty calm. And my middle is Gennady." He gave a disgusted look to the wall, "don't worry, I didn't choose it. My father did."

Memories of his father consumed his mind for mere seconds before he pushed them out. His father didn't deserve his time or his thoughts.

"Yea, dads have the ability to come up with aweful middle names. He came up with mine," Brynn said. She very much disliked her middle name. "What's your favorite class?" Brynn asked, curious about the upperclassmen's classes. Brynn right now was stuck with the basics.

[Angelo De Luca]

"Well, sometimes dad's can be very," Angelo sighed, "irrational."

He shook the curls out of his eyes before thinking it over, "my favorite class is Care of Magical Creatures. I love animals. But hey, dueling's fun too. You're probably stuck with the basics. I sincerely apologize." He joked.

[Brynn De Luca]

"Yea, sometimes," Brynn agreed. There were points in a day where her father would be very irrational, he was always brooding about someone who at one point in Brynn's life was her half-brother. But she loved him all the same.

"I am stuck with the basics, but I'm starting Dueling the next class," she said excitedly. "I probably wouldn't be any good though."
