"Lina, you're my sister so I'm going to do whatever I can to help you. You don't have to pay for rent. You can pay for whatever you want, that kind of thing. It'll help you save if you decide to do something else."
Jensen sighed. "I don't know Lina. The way I've seen Cyrus look at you I would have thought that he would have already married you. He is probably scared for some reason or another. That is the only reason I can think of. I don't know what is going on in that head of his, but just remember that it is not your fault. Maybe he can come to his senses."

Lina just nodded again. "I know... I know it's not my fault. I just can't understand it. I love him... I gave up any hope of reconciling with my parents, I gave up Auror training, all of it, for him, and he can't even work up the courage to talk to his parents. I mean... he let me leave. I'm justified in being angry with him, aren't I?"
She knew very well that she was justified. She sighed and ran a hand through her hair.

"You are justified at being angry at him Lina," he said. "Cyrus is going to see the mistakes that he has made and maybe then he'll realize that he should talk to his parents. Who knows?"
Jensen didn't get why Cyrus was scared to talk to his parents about Lina anyway. She gave up just about everything for him and he couldn't talk to his parents. What was going on through his head?

Lina nodded. She couldn't wait for him forever, and she wanted to let go, as much as she knew it would be impossible. If he wanted her back, he was going to have to come for her. He knew where she was.
"You're right. Can I get... can I get something warm to drink?" She was composing herself now, bracing herself aginst the prospect of being a single mother.

"Yeah, of course you can Lina. You can have anything you want, as long as I have it," he said. "What would you like? I have some hot chocolate that I can make. I even have some of those small marshmellows. I also have tea. Whatever you want, I'll make." Jensen wasn't that bad in the kitchen, however he always thought that Lina was better.
"I can also bring out some crackers if you want, or make you a sandwich or something else."

Lina smiled. "I'll get it," she said softly and moved to her feet. "Don't worry so much about me, Jensen. I'm not going to break. Mara and just have to get back on our feet."
She lovd him dearly for taking her in like this, and no matter how much she told him to stop worrying, she loved that he did. She needed that right now... proof that someone cared. That someone could see past her flaws.
"You know what I truly just do not understand? How in the world could he have let me take Lina? I swear," she was saying this from the kitchen, pulling out a mug and looking for the hot cocoa he had. "If this is how it has to end, I won't regret any of it because I'll have her. And if he's willing to lose her... well, then he's not the man I thought he was."

Jensen stayed on the couch as Lina entered the kitchen. "I don't know either Lina," he said from the living room. He got up and walked into the kitchen. "Maybe he's just having delayed reaction or something because he probably didn't think that you would just leave him like that." It wasn't that Jensen was supporting Cyrus for his actions, he was just trying to make sense of possible reasonings.
He reached up in one of the cabinets and pulled down the hot cocoa. "Looking for this," he asked with a grin. Jensen slid her the box and then reached up for a bag of miniature marshmellows and opened it, taking out a few and eating them.
"We'll just see how things go and take everything as it comes. As for right now, we're making hot cocoa and throwing marshmellows." He smiled and threw one at her.

Lina bit her lip while he spoke, smiling as he got the cocoa for her. He used the little packets that came in a box. Lina has a container of it at home... yes, she still wanted to call it home. But every minute that ticked away that Cyrus wasn't pounding down that door made her less and less sure.
She got out a second mug and poured one package of cocoa into each.
"That's not fair!" She pouted. "You have all the marshmellows!"

"Oh, it is very fair," he said grinning. Jensen reached out with one hand and pushed the corner of her lips up into a sort of half smile, while making sure the marshmellow bag he held in his other hand was out of her reach.
He waited to throw another one until she poured the hot water into the mugs. Jensen threw another one at her before putting some in their mugs. "There we go. Perfect." He reached back in the bag and pulled out a handful. After putting the bag back into the cabinet, he held his hand out to her before eating a few marshmellows. "Want some?"

Lina put her hands on her hips, well aware that she couldn't reach the marsmellows, and despite the forced half smile, she was raising an eyebrow at her brother.
At the pro-offered marshmellows, she nodded, reaching out to take some marshmellows. She wondered if he was going to just throw a bunch at her. If he did, she would just grab the bag out of the cabinet and be better armed than he was.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to throw these at you. I plan to just eat these," said Jensen. "I can't ruin a perfectly good handful of marshmellows by just throwing them and having them land on the floor." He winked. "I promise."
Jensen threw a couple more in his mouth. "Thanks for making the hot cocoa by the way."

Lina still eyed him as though she didn't trust him, and pocketed about half of her marshmellows, just in case they came in handy later, and then added a few extra to each of their mugs.
"Thank you for letting me," she countered, and turned to hand him his. "There's nothing like a little chocolate to make you feel better, you know?" Lina had never been on her own. Straight after school, she and Cyrus had moved in together... maybe now was a good a time as any to learn how... with Jensen's help, for a while.

"Ah, you don't have to thank me," he said. "You can do whatever you want to do here. If you feel like getting up at two in the morning and fix a grilled cheese, go ahead, you don't have to ask. Although, I do request that you don't trash the place too terribly much." Jensen gave her a teasing grin.
"And I agree, there is nothing like a little chocolate to make you better." He took his mug from her and took a small sip since it was still pretty hot. "Speaking of chocolate, I'm thinking about making a chocolate cake tomorrow. I've been craving one for awhile, and I would feel like a fat person if I just ate it all myself. However, I do have some other people staying with me now, so I don't think it would be too bad if I made one."
