...the more confusing things got really.
Things were changing. Eve couldn't delude herself into thinking otherwise. Viv had admitted it with Lance, and her own feelings for Josh had begun to blossom. They had even kissed of course...it was an accident but she couldn't help that it didn't *feel* like an accident. It felt like...well it felt like home. Kissing Josh felt warm and comfortable, and yet exciting and new, she felt cherished, and safe, but on fire and exhilarated, she didn't know what to do about such strong feelings at all, but in the midst of things she felt acute loss and there was one person she needed to see.
Before she could even contemplate her feelings for Josh, or Viv's feelings for Lance, she had to talk to Lance himself. She had to know that she wasn't losing him, she couldn't bear to lose him he meant so much to her.
He had asked to talk to her a while back and now Eve was finally getting to talk to him again in private, she sent word for him to meet her at the Black Lake after class.

Lance was actually worried about Eve when she asked to see him after class, and he had tucked the note away quickly, waiting for the class to end.
He grabbed his bag and made his way towards the lake, wrapping a scarf around his neck as he went.
She was there before him, and he smiled when he saw her. "Hey Eve... everything all right?"

Eve, as she usually did, was thinking about Josh, but she was also thinking about Lance whom she was meeting. She knew right away without even turning that the person meeting her was Lance. She felt his warmth and care as if a long friend, a brother were greeting her, but there was something distinctly different when Josh approached that caused most of her to simply tingle.
She turned and smiled up at him, "Oh Lance!" she said as if startled by him she shook her head, " No nothing's wrong, come on I got us some soup and such for a light snack." course to Eve a light snack when preparing for one of the boys was generally a five course meal.

"That was sweet of you," Lance said, smiling at her. He was sort of surprised that Josh wasn't here. While the four of them were such good friends, they had been splitting off in pairs a lot lately. He sort of missed Eve, when all he saw of her was a sleeping form in his brother's bed.
"I'm glad nothing's wrong. I was a little worried."

She turned her impish smile full force on the boy who had been like a brother to her for the longest time, " Where would you like to sit?" she asked picking up the basket of food that was half as big as she was. There was something nostalgic in the air, she had missed being with Lance for as often as she was with Josh, though she couldn't really help herself when it came to that certain boy, he brought a peace to her life that she didn't think she could live without.

"Anywhere, Eve," Lance replied, giving her that boyish smile that came out only when he was completely at ease. Sometimes, he was so deep in thought that his smiles seemed more pensive than anything. He got caught up in his own world sometimes.
And despite her words, he still felt like something was... well, like it was strange between them, and he couldn't put his finger on it. Lately, he hadn't spent much time with just her, and he regretted it a little. Not that he regretted any of the time he spent with Viv.
He reached over and took the basket from her. "Don't argue," he told her. "Let me be a gentleman."

"I'm not arguing at all." she said brightly, "I was falling over with that thing." she pipped. She was really a very tiny creature, but adorable in her own way, fragile as well.
"Thank you."
She took a glance around and pointed toward a tree that offered some shade, "There's a nice spot."
