Arianna's feet were cold. Though she could not bring herself to stop walking. The bright moonlight did little in the way of providing light through the leaves. Despite that, Arianna got along quite well in the dark. Though she could've done without the occasional branches scraping her face. It was a surprise even to Arianna that she could wander so calmly through this dark place on her first time during the dark. Now that the thought came to mind, however, she could feel panic rising as each step was taken and lowering as she came past each tree without anything drastic happening. Usually Arianna would appear a bit uncertain, right now she kept up a stern grimace quite well. Her plan was to seem as if her surroundings didn't phase her. Though Arianna would sometimes take deep breaths, as if relieved that nothing was happening.

If asked why she was in the forest, Alecto would have just sneered and replied that curiosity killed more than cats.
But the fact remained, she was here, doing something dangerous or cruel, more than likely, and it was Arianna's footsteps that caused her to stand perfectly still. She didn't know who else was in the forest, but she didn't expect that it was someone particularly nice.
Holding her breath, she pulled out her wand and waited.

Arianna continued through the trees. Her slight fear of passing trees began to fade as quickly as it had come. Arianna let out a quick breath, then sighed. This place was getting boring. Just when she'd made up her mind to start heading back, Arianna stepped in a small puddle of water. She sighed again; with greater annoyance. Arianna pulled her foot from the puddle. It was very cold. It forced a shudder through her leg and up her spine. Finally, Arianna waved her wand and uttered: "Lumos." Her wand lit the area. There were pools of water all around her. Arianna wondered how she'd got past them without stepping in one earlier. Shuddering again, Arianna made a note to make use of the Lumos spell earlier next time. She noticed a figure standing further in the forest. Close enough to hear her and definately spot the light. Arianna took a step towards it and called out, "Hello?"

Alecto sneered. How foolish was this person to just approach someone in the Forbidden Forest? A girl had been killed here. How did this person know she wasn't the murderer waiting for another stupid student to wander aimlessly into the forest?
"Who are you?" She called, her wand still at the ready.

Arianna sighed and narrowed her eyes. Perhaps Arianna wasn't the most well-known person, but it still stung to not be noticed. Maybe it was because the other person couldn't see her. Arianna searched the ground for a way to get closer. She responded as if she'd met someone in the Great Hall, like this place was boring and uneventful. It probably wasn't, but convincing Arianna that it wasn't pretty boring right now would be hard with her foot freezing. "I'm Arianna. A student. And yourself?" Her voice didn't carry the same annoyance that her expression held. Instead it was rather neutral; Arianna never usually spoke with too much emotion.

A student. Alecto rolled her eyes and put her wand away. Truly, a foolish girl for being here. At least Alecto knew she could handle herself. This girl went around announcing herself.
"Alecto. I'm in your house," she replied, irritated as she recognized the girl's name.
"It's dangerous here, you know. You really shouldn't be here."

Arianna became angry as an immediate reaction to Alecto. It was true that she probably shouldn't be here though. That truth was likely more obvious than Arianna would have liked. "I know it's dangerous. I wont pretend I don't care either. I was scared to enter-" Arianna looked down at the ground again, as she did her arm holding her wand and the brightest light source. "And I was about to turn back. What do you suggest?" Arianna never usually cared about other people's opinion. If you could scare or impress her enough to calm her though, your words just might be able to mean something. Though that was more likely to be mere curiosity rather than actual admiration.

(Sorry it took me so long to reply!)
Alecto scowled. Was the girl that outstandingly stupid?
"If you were so scared to come in, and so eager to turn back, why did you bother coming at all?" She took a few steps towards the girl in an effort to intimidate her.
"There are centaurs... and it's always a fifty fifty bet whether or not they'll attack. And giant spiders... I've seen them." From very far away, and she had run, but she had still seen them. "There are rumors of all sorts of nasty creature... things you should be scared of. I suggest you leave."

(I suppose I can't complain much. Sorry as well.)
Arianna shrugged then stepped back when Alecto advanced toward her. Her foot was numb, and she nearly stumbled backward because of it. After saving herself from a fall, she shrugged her shoulders. "I thought, Uh. . ." Arianna bit her lip softly after getting interupted. Arianna shrugged as Alecto described the horrors of this forest. "I can't leave. Not alone. I can't die. I forgot I could. Will you bring me back to school?" Arianna shook slightly, surprised at what was coming from her own mouth. She didn't want to go back to school yet. Regardless, what little survival instinct Arianna had wouldn't let her form the words in her head to take back her stupid request. Instead Arianna gaped at Alecto foolishly.
