Julian wasn't used to pranks or jokes like these. He had a light manner, and a carefree spirit but not a ridiculous one, which a lot of these toys semi-represented. Studying different things he wondered what sort of a thing would make Lyra happy and he prayed it didn't involve him mutilating himself, although he smiled at something he did see in the shop. It was a miniature voodoo doll, he raised a brow.
"Good for a laugh and some innocent fun." the box said which Julian read for the benefit of showing his interest. "Perhaps I do not have to be the jester at all." he murmured.

Lyra looked over his shoulder to see what he had found, resting her chin on his shoulder. "A VooDoo doll? Going to poke someone?" she asked skeptically. Let it be Rystain, she thought. Or Lani. Maybe both.
Lyra turned her head so she could look at him, her cheek now resting on his shoulder. "You don't have to spend your money to please me, Julian. Honestly, I'm not so spoiled that I expect total strangers to throw galleons my way. Oh," she caught herself. "But you're not a stranger, are you, lover?" She smiled at her 'fiancee'.

He looked a bit stricken at first, "Wait...you mean I'd have to pay for it?" he asked the most serious expression on his face. It held for about a second before he smiled and swooped her closer to him his arms resting lightly around her hips, " Did Sam forget to tell you?" he asked amused before he nuzzled her ear slightly and whispered, " I'm more than handsome love...I'm bloody rich." he brought his face just in front of hers as his eyes lighted with mirth, " Money's meaningless to me...but if we can get a few jokes on your ex idiot's expense, then I'd consider it money well spent. I have a fortune at your disposal my dear. Money has never bought me happiness, but if it can buy me something to bring a smile to your face, then take it all."

Sam sure did know how to pick them. Handsome, funny, and now rich. "I don't think I'm ever going to let you go," she teased, holding herself even closer to him. His body was warm and he smelled good, like a warm kitchen.
She did not miss the part about her 'ex idiot' and her eyes sparkled at his words. It was as if he were reading her mind. But not to give him too much credit, it was clearly where her mind would be for a very long time.

Julian laughed, he had a job to do and that was to make her happy. But he knew when to pull back. It was a job to help women get back on their feet, he like every man out there had issues, and his were dead and burried, he was perfect really...he was a gentleman, funny, sweet, rich, handsome...but at the end of the day he was still taken by the one woman he could not have.

Apparently she had said the wrong thing, even though it was a joke. His eyes now had that glossy look as if he was inside his head again. And even though he laughed, she knew he was thinking about whatever...whomever it was he was thinking about earlier. She pulled away casually and looked around the room. "So let's do this thing," she said cheerfully, trying to change the subject.

He shook out of his daze and then smiled at her, " If a man such as myself were ever to be so lucky." he said sincerely to her earlier mention of keeping him forever.
When she tried to keep the spirits up he joined her, "Lets" he agreed and brought the doll up to the shop keeper.
