Eve's brows rose and she had to refrain from asking what was wrong with her ankle. The truth was she had forgotten what had happened, forgotten whatever pain she might have felt and lost all other feelings than the plesant numbness that overtook her in his arms.

"Excellent," he replied. Josh shifted just slightly to remain comfortable. He was as close as he could be to Eve, without squishing her. This time, when Josh tilted his head down slightly, he made contact with what he was aiming for this time. He aimed his lips towards the top of her head. This time, he didn't miss. Not that he minded missing earlier or anything.

Completely and totally content Eve allowed herself to fall into a peaceful slumber with him on the couch precisely as they were.
