Laura released an agitated breath as she settled underneath a tree near the lake. It seemed as though she could not get away from a very persistent seventh year Slytherin by the name of Devin Sheppard. She had been warned by her fellow Gryffindors about the older Slytherin boys and their relationship histories. It seemed that the more Laura ignored Devin, the more he liked her. She was slightly appalled with herself to find that she found him attractive, and refused to show it on the exterior.

Devin strolled across the lawn like he did often as of late, and was happy to find that there was Laura sitting under the willow tree by the edge of the lake. It seemed to be a popular place for girls he'd noticed, and found it rather amusing but highly convenient when he was bored. The fact that it was Laura sitting there was even better. He'd found her to be quite the little miss perfect untouchable Gryffindor which was even more fun of a challenge than most. He had no doubts that he could win her over in the end, but he would enjoy the chase and the win would be even more satisfying.
Devin walked over to Laura and took it upon himself to sit next to her without an invitation, like normal. "Hello beautiful, and what brings you out here today besides the cold fresh air and getting out of the stuffy castle?" His smile was completely charming. He had a reputation and he knew it, actually he thrived on that reputation. It usually worked to his advantage, but sometimes it just made the challenge more fun.

Internally, Laura groaned when she saw Devin strutting across the lawns in the distance. Her thoughts and feelings were in a turmoil over him. He was so forward about what he wanted, she didn't know if she found it attractive or annoying. As he got closer, it was evident that there was a smirk on his face, and Laura wondered what he was thinking.
He settled next to her without question, as usual. She sent him a little glare and shifted over slightly to lean her back against the trunk of the tree, sighing in the process. He flashed her a perfect smile as he asked her what she was doing outside, as if it wasn't obvious. "Well it seemed like the only logical place, seeing as how you have been bugging me all week inside the castle, but apparently I was wrong," she retorted, pleased with her cool tones.

"You came out here to escape from me? I'm flattered, you really know how to make a guy feel wanted you know." He gave a hurt look, teasing her. "You've wounded my heart Laura. I think perhaps you should make it up to me." He knew she was being all frosty ice queen to put him at a distance but it didn't deter him, he actually found it quite attractive... the untouchables always had the most allure to him.

"Make it up to you?" She asked, raising an eyebrow disbelievingly. "And just how would you have me make it up to you?" She decided to play along with his game, if only to find out what it was he wanted from her. Her eyes roamed his face, looking for any clues, but it remained unreadable.
As she waited for him to respond, more students were beginning to step out of the castle and onto the grounds, she wondered what her house mates would think if they saw her talking to Devin. She had been warned that the older Slytherin males did not always have the best intentions or reputations, after all.

Devin thought about requesting a kiss from her, he knew his kisses could melt the iciest of hearts... but he had a better idea. He wanted to put her at ease not startle her away. "Spend the day with me, we can talk and see how you feel after you give me a chance to prove myself to you. You might find that you don't hate me, you know." His eyes glimmered with a mixture of promises and laughter. He wasn't mocking her but he found her guard up very adorable.

Laura was slightly confused about his request. She definitely had not been expecting him to ask her to spend the day with him. She tried to find a loophole in his simple request, but there just didn't seem to be an obvious one. After a few moments, she hesitantly answered him. "Alright, I'll spend the day with you, but I doubt it will change my mind." After a whole day with Devin, she mused, she had better win some kind of medal- perhaps even be inducted as a Saint. She couldn't shake the feeling that she had just made a huge mistake.

Devin saw the hesitation in her face, she didn't trust him and she had good enough reason to he knew. Laura wasn't the first girl he'd lured into a bed that had been warned away from him. But he also was the best man for the job of any of the 'slytherin boys' for a girl like this.
"Thank you for at least giving me a chance, I am sure that at the very least you will enjoy the day," and perhaps more than enjoy it if he played his cards right. He was if nothing else good at making a girl's first time memorable.

Laura silently nodded, and started to get up. She had lost track of time, and decided it was almost lunch. Dusting off her robes, she faced Devin once again. "Let me know when you'd like me to meet up with you." She told him as she gathered up her books. With one last look back at him, she continued to make the trek back to the castle.
(sorry for the length)

"Now is as good as any, I'll walk you back to the castle." Devin wasn't far behind her and quickly caught up to her so that he could walk beside her. "We should go visit the kitchens instead of the hall though, the elves are quite good at cooking up something special if you don't mind a bit of special treatment." He had an idea which included dessert, but he wondered if she would accept being alone with him. Even if they wouldn't really be alone in the kitchens, with all the house elves working but he wouldn't be forced to sit at another table at least.

Laura was planning on going back to Gryffindor tower after lunch, to sort her thoughts out before even thinking about spending the day with Devin. She needed to put her guard back up, and keep it there firmly. But when Devin caught up with her and suggested they go to the kitchens, she knew he could easily break through her carefully indifferent exterior. She was a bit apprehensive, seeing as how he wanted to go to the kitchens instead of the Great Hall, but at least the house elves would be there. "If you insist," she said indifferently, it was best to practice while she still had a chance. With that thought in mind, they reached the doors to the Entrance Hall.

Devin smiled and reached for her hand as she opened the door to take her down to the kitchens. He had a boyish charm when he wanted to and right this moment he knew that was the best tact to take with her. "Of course I insist, I'll make sure you don't regret it." No matter how little he stayed with a girl or how long, they never quite regretted it.. he really was good but then she still had yet to have the full Devin experience.
