Reese winked and Bek laughed. "Oh, yes, how could I have overlooked that?" She laughed.
"And know, I didn't know you were Welsh," as opposed to many of the other students here at Hogwarts, Bek was unable to differentiate between the many accents that floated around the school. "That's really interesting," Bek replied honestly. "And in reference to the overconfident quidditch player part, there's nothing wrong with a little extra confidence. What possition do you play?" she asked.

Reese shrugged. "Not many people know I'm Welsh," he replied. He had learned English quickly enough that adopting the accent had been easy, too. Accept for the occasional times when he stumbled over not knowing what word to use in a situation, he fit in well enough. He could use his Welsh to his advantage, however, and would.
"I'm a chaser," he told her. "Was never any good as a beater. I'm all right as a keeper, too. Do you play? You seem like the type, you know."

Bek wondered what it meant to look like the quidditch type. "Actually, I've never flown," she admitted. She bit her lip and smiled at Reese, "Ever. Seven years of being a witch and I never once flew a broom." It wasn't like she was proud of it, it was one of those things she simply never learned to do, like tying her shoes, which she would never tell anyone.

Reese's jaw dropped. "Really? Even with that class first year?" She had to be kidding him, but when it sunk in that she wasn't, he shook his head and moved towards her, grabbing her hand. "Come on. We're gonna go fly right now."
Even if she had a fear of it, he was hoping he could talk her through it.

"I fell down the stairs from the dormatories the week of Flying Lesson's first year. I spent it in the hospital wing." Bek laughed. Reese then came over and grabbed her hand, informing her that they were going to fly right now. "Oh, Reese, I...I can't...I...I'd be terrible," but despite her protests, Bek felt a small (VERY SMALL) surge of excitement flow through her as Reese dragged her out of the Owlery.

"How can you know that?" Reese asked, unrelentlessly pulling her down the stairs. "I have enough faith in you to even let you borrow my broom."
He flashed her a wide smile as he said this. "And she's a good broom. So you *have* to be good, you see." He thought she would enjoy flying, actually, and he wanted to help her do it. "I'll make sure you have fun."

"I...uh..." Bek had run out of excuses and the two had run out of stairs as Reese began to drag her along through the school. He sounded so keen that she'd be great. "Okay, okay," she gave in.

Reese grinned slyly. "I knew you couldn't resist me," he said, and laughed. He took her all the way to the Pitch and to the locker room, which was deserted. "Here," he said, handing her his broom. "I'll just fine one of the school's practice brooms, and we'll get to it."
From there, he lead her to the storage area, bypassing the Quidditch balls and grabbing a spare broom. It would do.

Bek was electric with nerves when she took Reese's broom and he led her out to the quidditch pitch. "Reese, I'm gunna fall," Bek said, voicing her nerves.

"I promise I won't let," Reese said. "Where's that Gryffindor spirit I know you have?" He asked with a teasing grin.
Then, more seriously, he said, "Bek, I promise, I won't let you get hurt. If you fall, I will catch you."

Bek took a deep breath and nodded, biting the inside of her lip. "Okay, i trust you," she said with a smile. "so what's first?"

Reese grinned. "You have to get on the broom, sweetheart," he told her, but then added, "It's easy. Like pretending to ride a horsewhen you were a kid." To show her, he mounted his own broom, his feet still firmly on the ground. She was nervous, so he would take this one step at a time for her.

Bek laughed, her nerves making the laugh shaky. This was crazy. "Okay," she said, mimicking Reese and climbing onto the broom he lent her. "Now what?" she repeated, though she had a feeling she knew what the next step was.
