Kara sat in their home, one booted foot propped against the arm of a lounge chair her knee bent up against her chest. As usual she was wearing black, her corset narrowing down to a short skirt. She sat there staring at the fireplace remembering the daughter she could no longer claim as hers. She often sat here thinking about her when she was alone with nothing to keep her busy. She wondered what she was doing now. It was for her own safety, but that didn't mean she didn't miss Katarina. The fact that her daughter had no idea that they existed broke her heart, but it was for the best.
She sighed softly just watching the fire blaze trying to burn the image of her daughter into her mind.

Kenneth apparated into Godric's Hollow after he had finished his lunch with Tanya Scotts. She reminded him so much of his wife that he had to return home and see how his lovely Kara was doing. Approaching the quaint little two story house they had purchased to not draw so much attention to themselves, he opened the front door and spotted Kara right away. She was sitting in a lounge chair wearing the tight corset he loved to see her in, yet she looked sad. "Kara my love?"
His voice filled with concern he quickly approached and knelt down beside her. His hand gently holding hers. "What's wrong darling?"

Kara looked up when she heard the door open, her haunted eyes betrayed her thoughts but she tried to wipe them away with a smile for her husband. "Hello, sweetheart... I'm okay." She tried to put her thoughts behind her, but she knew she couldn't hide them from Ken and she sighed. If anyone knew her moods and her lies it was Ken, he was the one person who'd always been able to see right through her. "I was just thinking about Katarina." She said as she looked at her handsome husband. He was the perfect man for her in every sense of the word and she loved him. And they both shared the same burden of hiding their daughter away.

Ken sighed when Kara mentioned Katarina, they had to give up their beautiful baby girl just after she was born. "Kara..." Words escaped him at the moment, there was nothing he could truly say to comfort her since he himself was just as distraught that they couldn't have their daughter with them anymore. Looking deeply into his wife's beautiful eyes he said the one thing that any man who loved a woman as deeply as loved Kara would.
"If you would like my love, maybe we could find her. We couldn't talk to her but we could see her." His hands seemed to shake wildly, he couldn't believe he was saying this he always knew that tracking Kat down would be a possibility but had pushed it far from his mind.

Her eyes brightened a little as she thought to hope, but then it was squelched with a frown. "I would love that... but I don't want to hurt the one reason we gave her up in the first place. I don't want anything to happen to her, Ken. Not because of us." Her eyes were sad though, she wanted desperately to see Katarina to know that she was okay and safe and to see what kind of girl she had grown into.
She never doubted that her sister would care for her, but her sister was a squib which meant that who knows what kinds of thoughts or ideals were in her head. But more important, she truly just wanted to have her daughter back. Though she knew this is a wish that could never be. They could never allow Katarina to be in danger because of what they were.

Ken lightly brushed his lips against Kara's hand, before scooping her up into his arms while sat down on the lounge chair and placed his lovely wife on his lap, brushing her hair slowly while he spoke. "I know my love, I just..I miss her too. She looked so much like you when she was born." Smiling as he looked down at his lovely wife, he lightly kissed her forehead. "I bet she's a beautiful witch, every bit as talented and lovely as her mother."

Kara loved her little spot on his lap and she curled up with a barest of wiggles to get comfortable. She moved one arm under his to wrap up around his shoulder, her fingers resting against his neck, while her other hand rested on his chest and she looked at his face. "I just want to know she's safe, know what kind of a girl she's growing into. It's been sixteen years, Ken and she should be close to graduating soon. I feel like we missed out on so much of her life, that there is so much we could have taught her and so much we don't know about her."

Ken eyed his beautiful wife, they were both upset over the loss of their beautiful daughter. Kara was so beautiful and from the moment of her birth Katarina had shown every sign of growing up to look like her, he couldn't just sit here doing nothing. Kara was his life and he would turn over buildings if it would make her happy, yet there was nothing he could think of doing to make her happy in this situation.
As his hands slowly brushed through her long hair an idea hit him almost like a thunderbolt from the sky. "I know what we can do my love." Smiling at Kara he loved being able to provide the means to make her happy. "Thatcher and Alicia Scotts kids' are all in Hogwarts now, we can trust the Scotts and if nothing else maybe one of the kids can spy for us."

Looking up at Ken, a smile appeared on her face. "My love, you are brilliant as usual. You're right, if anyone would understand and help.. I'm sure Thatcher and Alicia would. They love their children too, and they know the risks. I wish it could be more though, just to let her know we exist... but I will take what I can get." She leaned in and kissed her husband. He was so smart sometimes, it was one of the reasons she had fallen in love with him so many years ago.

Kenneth beamed as his wife kissed him, he loved it when his ideas made her happy. "I know my love, I wish we could let her know about us as well.." Pausing a hint of sadness crossed into his eyes for a moment then as he looked down into the loving eyes of his wife it was gone. Pondering on how to get in contact with the Scotts for this without drawing too many eyes, he began to unlace and remove Kara's boots.
Mindlessly massaging her feet, he was lost as to how they could setup something like this with the Scotts. "The only problem is how can we get the them to notify their kids. I was speaking with Tanya earlier and it seems Hogwarts is under some sort of lockdown.."

Kara loved when he massaged her, he knew all her weaknesses, and she purred as she relaxed against him just enjoying his hands. But her mind was already thinking of options. "Surely they could pull some strings to have their children home for a weekend if they tried. They have enough influence to at least get that much arranged. And I think I have an idea of how to make them have an interest in Katarina... But what kind of lockdown... what happened at the school that they would be on guard?"
She was frowning, worry for their daughter being in some sort of danger was the thought most prevalent in her mind. It even pushed out her original thought of discussing an arranged marriage for one of the Scott's boys to Katarina. But then that would have meant talking to her squib of a sister to let her know that she expected it to be done, short of telling Katarina herself. After all, her own had worked out so well with Kenneth and she did want her daughter to have the right breeding. Maybe one of the Scotts kids would be a good match and give them an interest in watching her for them.

Finishing with her feet he moved on to massaging her calves as he listened to the worry creep into her voice. "Don't fret darling, there was a murder but it wasn't our darling Katarina, some other girl Katie something. The ditz of a girl went into the forest, she was probably murdered by those dirty centaurs. Beasts like that have no sense of right and wrong." Sneering at the thought of the creatures known as centaurs, he brought Kara's leg to his lips before continuing the massage on her calves.
"So tell me love, what is this idea of yours to keep the Scotts interested?"

A soft quiet moan of relaxing pleasure escaped her lips as he moved to her calf, but she felt calmed again knowing that Katarina was safe. Surely their daughter would be smart enough to stay out of the Forest. Though it didn't make much sense why that would cause a virtual lockdown on the school, but she put it aside for the moment.
"Well they only have one daughter, but they also have four sons. I'm sure one of them might make a good match for her. She's sixteen and we should at least make sure she is arranged to a good family. We don't want my sister giving her ideas of marrying a muggle or mudblood after all. We haven't done much with her past, but I think we should concern ourselves with her future. Maybe she's becoming old enough not to be in danger any longer. But if we manage to get her a suitable arranged marriage with one of the Scotts, then perhaps they will have reason to keep an eye on her. Besides the fact that Alicia's children have been getting a bit too much leeway lately if you ask me, I'm sure Thatcher wouldn't mind ensuring one of his son's futures is secured."

Ken sighed silently as his wife spoke, it was a good idea but it was always hard to accept the fact that one day his little angel would be forced to marry someone she didn't like. The Scotts boys were slightly different though, only the youngest showed any desire to follow in the rest of the family's footsteps, maybe she could find one among them to settle down with and start a family.
"Yes my love but which one, Thane is a bumbling fool and Timothy, well you've seen that boy he hardly speaks and blushes redder than a tomato if you look at him for more than five seconds. I won't let her be with their oldest, she'd be better off here at home than with him i'd imagine."

"Well I would like her to be happy with however was chosen. After all, our arranged marriage worked out just fine and we are happy. I'm sure her's might too if we find out what type of girl she has grown into. Either way, maybe she can help straighten out one of their boys. I'm sure the appeal would be a good one for the Scotts regardless. Maybe we can ask Thatcher who he would think best to marry off? I think Timothy is her age at least, though it's a shame Xavier is only thirteen he would be my first choice otherwise. He has the most potential. I just wished we knew more about her first."
She sighed, wishing things had been different. Would it be so hard to have their daughter in their lives? After all, Thane and Alicia managed to keep five kids raised and no harm had come to them. Perhaps there wouldn't be as much harm in having their daughter back the more she thought of it.

Kenneth smiled down at his beautiful wife as he listened to her, she made some very good points especially about their own arranged marriage. "Yes love, but for the sake of my heart I do hope Kat isn't half the wildcat you are." Lightly kissing her hand, he continued to listen. "You know to hear you say it, I don't see why we can't let Kat know who we are." His smile quickly fading from his face he sighed as a sad look crept into his eyes.
"Love, I think it's time to unveil everything. Katarina is old enough to make her own decisions and choices."

Kara chuckled softly at his hope that Kat wasn't like her. She also knew that her husband enjoyed that specific fact about her, but as a father should could see why he would not want that. However Kat had essentially been raised as a muggle and she doubted it was an inherited trait considering her sister was ever so meek and mild, that it was rather disgusting.
When he suggested they tell Katarina about themselves and that they let her make her own choices she sighed. All the fears crept back into her. "I think you're probably right, I just hope she doesn't hate us for what we did.. that she'd accept us and forgive us for giving her up like we did. I don't know how I'd deal with it if she hated us. How.... how should we do that? I don't know if even I have the answers for that. It's one thing to always dream of it happening, but to actually do that.. is something I don't want to mess up." She let her self doubts and fears show. She didn't mind that he knew her emotions, he had always known her emotions and never faulted her for them.

Listening to his wife as she poured out all her feelings on the subject, he held her a bit tighter to him. They both shared the same hopes and fears when it came to the subject of their daughter, the decision they had made was not an easy one nor was it hastily made. "I know my love, the many fears and hopes that come from us making this decision yet if we truly love Kat we must let her know that there are two people here that love and care about her, if she wants us or not..." He paused hoping beyond everything that the latter was not the truth, he didn't know how he could live with himself.
Lightly kissing her cheek he smiled at Kara. "We'll have to let her draw her on conclusions, all we can do is tell her."

Kara smiled softly and felt reassured by her husband's kiss. Of course he was right, and she knew that it was probably the best thing to do in the end. And the hope that she might actually get to have her daughter in some form back into her life.. would be a dream come to life, litterally. She turned into him to kiss him softly.
"You're right. Do you think maybe the Scotts might help us locate her at least? They have connections in the school already and as you said, worst case is that one of their children can help us find her."

Still stunned from the magic his wife could work with her lips, he stared off into space as she spoke. "Of course they would my love.. In fact I just had lunch with Tanya I bet if I sent her an owl she could be here in no time." Standing up, he scooped Kara up and placed her over his shoulder, walking over to a small writing desk he quickly scribbled out a note telling Tanya to come quickly. Placing his wife on the ground, he tied the note to the leg of a snowy white owl that perched in the window sill, as it flew off he looked back over at Kara. "You know we have some time before Tanya gets here." Closing the distance between his wife and himself, his hands slipped around her waist and his lips connected with hers. (I dont wanna hear it, yes I think it's time to bring Tanya in )
