"I thought I would just ask," she said with a shrug. Regina thought of a moment. She wanted to do something tonight, but she didn't know what. Her and Hallie had made up, but Hallie was probably off studying. Whatever it was that she was going to do, she wanted Thane to be a part of it too. As of late, she wanted him to be around a lot more than he usually was. Of course, she would always feel funny when he was around, but she didn't care. She liked it.
"Do you want to read aloud?"

Thane grinned. "Of course I will if you'd like me to. You know I love to read to you." He shifted himself so that he could lean against the sofa and leave room for her to lay on his chest while he read to her. He patted his chest, "Care to join me?" His smile was warm and welcoming, and a boyish eagerness to have her closer. He waited until she moved to lay against him and then held the book up to begin reading about the dark ages before Hogwarts even existed. His voice was calm, low and animated as he read to her.

Regina smiled and put a bookmark in the book she was reading. Once she placed it on the table in front of them, she moved closer so that she could lay her head on his chest. She listened to his heartbeat as he moved the book so that he could read from it. Regina's breathing soon matched Thane's. She put a hand on his chest, next to her face as she was instantly comfortable.
She let out a laugh as he read because of the way his voice would rise and fall at some points.

Thane looked down at her when she giggled, pausing in his reading. "Are you giggling at me? or are you giggling at the the book?" He was grinning though, teasing her. He kissed the top of her head with a chuckle. She was so cute when she smiled and he felt comfortable having her on his chest. It just felt so natural and right and one of his arms curled around her waist while he still held the other book to read.

"Maybe I'm giggling at you, maybe I'm giggling at the book, or maybe I'm giggling at both," she said grinning. Regina had curled into him and was beyond comfortable, and it was a feeling she liked. Her other hand ended up being placed on top of his hand that was around her waist.
Regina's eyes followed the words as Thane continued to read. This was one of the things she wrote about in her journal that she wished could happen. Earlier, when Thane kissed her hand, was another thing she had written about as well. She smiled to herself. Maybe things were going to be smooth and work out. Although, Regina pushed that from her mind, she didn't want to get her hopes up too much.

Thane kept reading, his voice rising and lowering in a steady cadence bringing to life the history of the castle's very beginnings. He read about Helga Hufflepuff and how the kitchens were her domain and how she brought the house elves in and even how she created a way to magically transport the food from the kitchens below to the tables above in the Great Hall for meals and feasts. Then he read about Rowena Ravenclaw and her renowned wit and intelligence. He read how she had been the one to design the spells that created the castle's ever changing floorplan and even the created the moving staircases.
He paused in his ready a long time later and kissed the top of her head. Her breathing was slow and steady and he wasn't sure if she was asleep or just relaxed but either way he kissed her hair and a loving smile played on his lips.

Regina listened as Thane continued to read. She was completely relaxed and she snuggled closer to him. She was half asleep, but she was still listening. Regina tilted her head upwards after he kissed her head and a sleepy like smile appeared on her face. She felt comfortable and safe.
She leaned up a little, and kissed his jaw line, which happened to be the only thing that she could reach. Again she smiled and then snuggled against him again before she closed her eyes.

Thane felt warm flush his cheeks when Regina kissed his jaw. She was so wonderful and he felt so comfortable with her in his arms. Even her soft kiss made him close his eyes in happiness. He wanted to kiss her lips but he knew she wasn't likely ready for that and he just enjoyed having her curled up in his arms. He was only fourteen and she was fifteen... they had plenty of time to just enjoy each others company, but already his thoughts drifted to what it would be like to hold her like this forever. He realized he wanted her there with him, in the years to come.
"Regina?" he said her name softly, "Will you come meet my family the next time we have a family dinner? I want them to meet you." He spoke into her hair quietly, not wanting to break the spell they were under, but he didn't want to miss the chance to take her a step closer into his life.

She opened her eyes slowly and looked upwards again. He wanted her to meet his family? What would they think about her? What if she tripped infront of them? Would they dislike her because she wasn't graceful? So many questions bounced around in her head but she couldn't let Thane down. After all, he had asked. Regina found it hard to tell Thane no. Those blue eyes could make her do just about anything.
After a moment of thinking, she smiled. "I would love to. After all, it couldn't be that bad, could it?"

Thane hoped she was right, that it wouldn't be so bad. But afterall, he had already told his mother about her. He truly loved his family and wanted one day for Regina to be part of it. But he knew it would all take time, but he knew that his family would likely love her as much as he already did once they met her. After all they managed to love him despite his forgetfulness and he was sure they would forgive her if she was a bit of a klutz. But he would be there to hold her and help her not to fall. He would not leave her side if he could help it and he was sure that his mother would love her. The fact she was a pureblood meant he didn't have to worry about fighting that particular battle. Though if he had to he would have done that too. It didn't really matter to him, but with his family it certainly helped.
"They are going to love you as much as me, I don't doubt it one bit. I think you'll like my mother." He leaned over and kissed her cheek reassuringly.

She turned red, and her whole body went warm as Thane kissed her chin. Her smile had turned into a sort of lopsided grin. She couldn't help it. "I hope so. I hope that my nervousness doesn't make me trip all the time. I don't want your family to really see that and think less of me." A small frown appeared on her face. She didn't want to be a disappointment to his family, if Thane had told them anything about her.
Regina would definatly do her best around his parents especially. "From the way you talk about her, I think I will."

"But I should warn you that my family is a bit.. um... stuffy and proper when it comes to some things. They uhh... well..." Thane paused to find the right words to describe his family, "They are very proper and care about things like traditions and bloodlines and stuff. My dad and oldest brother more than most, but I don't think you have anything to worry about. Plus Gwen will be there and you already know her, and Timothy too. I think Timothy is bringing Katarina to dinner as well, wether dad likes it or not. More than likely you and I will fade into the background and can sneak off to the family library." He chuckled softly, trying to reassure her. It was very likely that his brother would be the spotlight of the evening and that was just fine with him. He knew his mother would like Regina though, and that mattered a lot to him. He was sure his father would be okay with it too, but would be too upset about his brother's date to notice much else.

Stuffy and proper? Regina hoped that she didn't make a fool out of herself while meeting his family. She didn't want to trip and then have that be the way that they judge her. She would be mortified if they did.
"Thane, you know that my family is not extremely rich. We're probably mid-middle class, or you might consider us upper middle class, but we're no where near your family's status," she said with a little worry. Regina did have to admire Thane's bravery for taking her home with him. She would try twice as hard not to mess up.
"I'll do my best at dinner. I don't want them to think bad of me."

"It's okay Regina, I already know that. And I'd still take you to meet them even if you were a muggle-born. You have nothing to worry about... and I'll be there to help you. I'm not leaving your side, I promise." He squeezed her hand then, his arm still around her waist as she sat against him.
He knew he might be pushing his luck but he kissed her temple. He couldn't help himself from wanting to touch and kiss her, even if they were rather innocent, but it was all new and hesitant for him. He had read her diary, and he was working towards a real kiss one day... but he didn't want to rush her. They were still young of course, but he already had strong feelings for Regina. He already knew how he felt about her, more so now that he knew she felt similar even if it was only admitted to her diary. But he didn't want to rush her, he wanted to take his time and ease into letter her know how he felt.

She leaned into him whenever he kissed her temple. Regina didn't mind it, although he could still make her turn red with the smallest things. She was used to actions like this, although she still hadn't quite figured out why he would rather be curled up with her, than out meeting someone else. However, Regina was not about to complain. She would have more good things to write in her journal about how she loved that he did curl up with her rather than go out somewhere else.
"You're something else, you know that Thane? I appreciate everything you do, and I don't think that I could thank you enough."

Thane smiled slowly, his cheek against her temple, and it was a smile reserved just for his private thoughts. She couldn't see it, so it was his own reaction to her, unguarded and sincere. Hearing those words from her made him feel sort of warm inside, and he was tempted to ask her just what he had done to deserve such praise.
Knowing it would ruin the moment, he kept his mouth shut on the topic, and instead replied, "I think we're even, because I think you're something else, too."

Regina's cheeks turned their pink tint once again. She wondered if they were going to stay permenantly pink if he kept on making her blush. Of course, she knew that he didn't know when she would turn to pink or even red, but still.
She was able to mumble 'thank you' as she squeezed his hand that was still wrapped around her waist and let her other palm rest against his chest. A smile had spread across her face and she had felt a giddy feeling but suppressed the giggles that wanted to escape her.

Thane didn't know what else to say without making a complete fool of himself, so he lifted the book again and feigned a throat clearing cough. "Now, where we?" He asked.
He squeezed her hand back, his mind imagining how his family would react to her. He thought she was perfect, but he was a little biased. Still, she was intelligent and beautiful, not to mention purelood and the Ravenclaw champion. His parents would love her; he was certain of this.

She snuggled gently against him again and looked down at the book. "We were on, the fighting between the houses after Hogwarts was made I believe," Regina said as she glanced over the page. She honestly couldn't quite remember where they had left off because Thane was a distraction but she couldn't complain about it.

Thane had only asked because she was too much of a distraction for him to remember, either. He had a hard time remembering anything anyway... he was going to be hopeless with Regina around.
He found a paragraph about house rivalries and decided it was as good a place as any to pick up again, and he kept reading. He was excited to take her home... he thought his mum at least would love her. It was hard to ever tell if his father was pleased. No one ever knew what to make of his emotionless demeanor, but he hoped his father would like her as well.
His hand absently ran up and down her arm as he read, content to stay like this until something stopped them.
