After TryOuts (Rystain, Lani, Open)

Lani had headed into the equipment room as soon as Rystain had dismissed them. She needed to put her broom away, and she also wanted a moment to stretch.

Seth had done such a phenominal job with the snitch, she thought considering how relentless Ryan was with those damn bludgers. She was positive Seth made the team.

And, if she were to allow herself to be a little arrogant, she was pretty sure she had beat out the other kid. Yes, he had avoided the bludgers and scored a point or two, but was otherwise just taking up air space.

She knew the rest of the small group left would be in the locker room, and she wanted to stretch out her shoulder before she went back. Yes, she remembered just how relentless Ryan was as she peeled back her robe to see a large bruise already forming.

[Rystain Quandry]

Rystain came into the equipment room to put away the rest of the equipment they'd used for practice. He hadn't realized Lani would be in here, until he saw the broom she was putting away. He'd forgotten about that, of course she would be in here returning the broom. "You did good out there, Lani... I have to admit I was surprised. Hows your shoulder doing, dear?" He walked over closer to take a look at the damage. He was used to these kinds of injuries, it came with the sport and luckily he'd been learned how to heal some things, bruises were one of them.

Lani looked up, slightly startled as he spoke, and then she eyed the balls in his hands. She forgot he would have to return those to here, and she slid the robe back over her shoulder. "I'm all right. Ryan's got a nasty hit on him."

And it dawned on her that the two times she had been directly hit had been from Ryan... had Rystain never had the oppertunity, or was hegoing easy on her?

Her eyebrows went up. "You didn't expect me to do well, and you made me try out anyway? That's a little cruel, Ryst."

[Rystain Quandry]

"Expected, no... hoped, yes. But then I would say the same to Seth too. Although, I am glad you lived up to the hopes." And he knew that he'd enjoy the extra time he could spend with her, which was an unusual thought for him about a girl but he didnt' really think about it. Besides the fact that any girl who could take a beating like that, made him respect them more.. and he was seeing a new side to Lani that he liked."

Lani only regarded him for a moment before she smiled softly. "I played a lot as a kid. My brother was a professional player for a while, and he got it into his head that he should teach me." She shrugged. "I like surprising you."

[Rystain Quandry]

"I like when you surprise me too, cheri." He smiled at her. Then he remembered the bruise on her shoulder and then the other bludgers that had hit her. "Come here and let me see where you're hurt. We should make sure you didn't do more than bruise yourself."

She knew better than to tell him no. She was just going to go to Madam Pomfrey, but he was here and he was offering... why on earth wouldn't she let him?

She walked towards him and turned her back to him. "I'm fine, I promise. But if there is anything wrong, it was Ryan's doing. Certainly not mine, thank you," she said as she shrugged slightly, letting her robe fall down her one shoulder.

[Rystain Quandry]

Rystain chuckled, "Yeah well it's his job to make it difficult for you. I'm just surprised you stayed on when you got hit. Need to work on your dodging a bit more but then again, that was Ryan he's one of the best beaters if you ask me." He inspected her shoulder for injury but she didn't seem to have anything major wrong other than a nice bruise. He aimed his wand carefully at her shoulder, "Episkey!" he said confidently as he flicked his wand. He waited for the hot and cold to go away before he asked if she had any other injuries.

"He has incredible aim," Lani said, in slight awe of Ryan. "You two work really well together, actually. I noticed in games, but it's a lot more apparant when you're on the field with the both of you."

Her eyes closed as he healed her shoulder, and she shook her head. "No, just that. Thank you," she replied, pulling her robe back over her shoulder. When she turned to face him, she had a soft smirk.

"Well?"

Rystain smiled innocently and tried to pretend he hadn't a clue what she was asking. "Well what, Cheri?" He kissed her shoulder where she'd been healed, just to test it's tenderness of course.

[Leilani Evetts]

Lani rolled her eyes, though it was half hearted. He knew very well what she was asking, but then he had to do something cute like kiss her shoulder, and she couldn't really be all that annoyed.

"How did I do?" She asked, not coming right out to ask the question.

[Rystain Quandry]

"You did good and it healed up very nicely if I do say so myself." He kissed her shoulder again, hiding a smug little smirk at avoiding her question with his lips against her collarbone.

This time, Lani his his arm softly and pulled away from him. He knew very well that was not what she meant.

"I took two of Ryan's bludgers, and you're going to tease me? How fair is that?" She asked, though she had to fight to keep from laughing.

"I know you want Seth as your Seeker..."

[Rystain Quandry]

Rystain grumbled when she pulled away from him. "I would love to tease you, but I think the bedroom might be better than the equipment room, don't you think?" He was really trying his best to keep a straight face, his lips twitched. "And yes Seth did catch the snitch, that should be obvious."

[Leilani Evetts]

Lani narrowed her eyes. "Yes... obvious. And I kept the quaffle away from you more than you snuck it back... that should be obvious too," she replied, ribbing him a little. She had no doubt that he was a far better player, she had just had luck on her side today. But she was good.

[Rystain Quandry]

"mmhmm.. you got lucky that's all. Don't forget I was also trying to watch all the other players too and play two positions. Don't think you'll be so lucky next time, Lani. I'm not going to go easy on you just because your a girl and I happen to be sleeping with you."

[Leilani Evetts]

"Sleeping with you?" She asked, laughing. "I slept with you once. What makes you think it's going to happen again?"

Then, she realized she had had a complete blonde moment, and the smile dropped from her face. "I *did* make the team?" She asked, realizing exactly what he had said.

[Rystain Quandry]

"If I remember correctly you slept with me twice under the stars, and I don't think you'll sleep with me again.. but I hope you will. And yes you did." then he added as an after thought, "whether you sleep with me again or not." He smiled teasingly at her.

[Leilani Evetts]

She couldn't help the girly noise that came out as she threw her arms around him. "Thank you!" She said. Hell, she was willing to sleep with him here in the equipment room for that.

For all of her protesting earlier, and the show about not wanting to try out, she was genuinely very happy that she had made the team. What could she say? Girls were difficult to figure out sometimes.

Rystain smiled at her excitement, and he was glad that she seemed to genuinely want to be on the team. "Don't get too excited, just because we aren't having any official games this year, or that your a girl, doesn't mean it's going to be easy. And more likely for you just the opposite, the rest of the team will likely be harder on you because you're new to the team, and a girl.. not to mention the fact I'm attracted to you, so I'm going to have to be harder on you too. Think you can handle that? You were good, but you still have a lot to learn if you're going to survive and be the best."
