But of course, Sam's hopes were in vain. As always, he was only a few minutes behind her, and he entered the room with a casual swagger. He was really hoping to be alone with her, and was getting a bit frustrated that she had, so far, managed to avoid him in the common room. And who was the idiot who thought it would be a good idea to put a protective charm keeping boys out of the girls' dorms, anyway?
He saw her immediately, and walked over to her. 'You know, if I didn't know better, I'd think you were avoiding me."

Dorian was in just after Rafe, and eyed the boy.
He slid into a seat next to Sam, and looked up at Rafe. "I think class has started... you're being a disruption," he whispered, taking out his book. "What chapter are we on, Sam?"

"Funny." she said still flipping pages in her book, "Here I thought I was succeeding in avoiding you." she sighed, " What a vain thought." she grumbled. When Dorian joined her and "came to her rescue" she sighed and told him that they were in chapter five.
She wished that Rafe would take his seat already.

Caleb noticed both of the boys at the same time and worried that they both went to Sam. He already didn't like Dorian and he could tell that Rafe gave Sam the creeps, he'd have to keep a better eye on her, and on them but nodded towards Rafe, "Mr. Colby please take your seat."

Rita walked into the classroom and sat on the other side of Samantha with a smile for the Professor as she did so. She got out her parchment and quill and waited for class to begin with a friendly hello for Samantha and Dorian.

Thane walked to class, though his hair was again a mess and he had no shoes on. Though this really wasn't all that unusual for him. At least the rest of his clothes had made it on his body this time. He walked in next to a Gryffindor boy and sat down in the middle of the room.

Sin came in with Thane and smiled at the professor. He wasn't always one to show to class but today he'd decided to get caught up in his school work. Having a photographic memory, he'd already read ahead for today's assignment and memorized it but he joined the class anyways with a half lazy smile that was friendly and charming. He just had a natural grace and the type of demenor that drew friends easily. He sat next to Thane in the middle of the room and waited for class to start.

Class had started and he was there to point that out quickly, "Come in come in, find your seats we're starting a bit early today if everyone will open their books to chapter five please." he announced.
He watched his sister get out her text book and turn to the selected page and imagined her to be quite bored out of her skull but he was glad she took this class anyway.

Apollo had been sitting quietly near the front of the room while students continued to file in, and he silently waited for them all to take a seat. His book was open, and he wa already rereading the chapter. Being a Ravenclaw, he had pretty much read through the entire book already.

Sam was a bit dazed today in class, she hadn't gotten much sleep the night before and things had been progressing downhill. She was worried about the tournament, worried about the dance, worried about things at home, worried about things at school, she was too worried for someone her age.
Staring down at her book the words were a jumble of text and lettering that she got lost and somewhat dizzy.
She needed more sleep she thought vaguely as she resisted sleeping right there in class.

Adele remained quiet as the lesson began, trying not to give Caleb the satisfaction of her being back.
And then it occured to her that she had just called him Caleb in her head, and that she was trying harder not to stare at him more than anything else.

Caleb began and ended the class with gusto. His entire body was alive and excitement ran from his fingertips to his toes. He could admit privately to himself that he was happy she was back in his class, happy and a bit apprehensive, he didn't want her to leave again. This new flair for the dramatic in his classroom was just the beginning they had gone over the somewhat boring introduction but now they were going to get to use their imaginations and participate in class discussions, debates even.
He often felt like one of the students still and since many of his students were really still his peers he didn't underestimate their intelligence or their ability to think like many teachers he knew did. He wasn't going to teach the class from a podium fifty feet away reading out of the textbook. He had wanted to kill the teachers that did that to him, instead he wanted to engage them and today he believed was a success.
