Or are the numbers us? Are we as the numbers say we are or do we hear our numbers and live in that fashion?
Caleb had a semi-interesting lesson plan for the day and was simply waiting for his students to show up once again.

She was giving in. There was no reason not to be in his classes anymore, despite how he got under her skin.
Quietly, she opened the door, hoping she wasn't first, and slid into a seat near the back.

But she was the first student and his lips curled upwards into a satisfied smile after she came in. First it had been curiosity and that too was in his eyes as he first saw her and then trailed after her until she reached her seat. He had come around his desk to lean on it, but his arms crossed over his chest and his brows furrowed in slight amusment, oh if looks could speak his was teasing I told you so, but beneath that was a subtle relief and happiness that he was actually aware of as he continued to smile wolfishly at her.

She finally met his eyes, after avoiding him for a few minutes. When she did, she gave him a look and felt really uncomfortable.
"I never turned in my books," she said, as if trying to make that look go away. "And there wasn't a better class to replace this one."

He kept the look for a few more seconds before it softened, "I'm glad you're back." he told her sincerely then winked slightly as if to say that was all the harassing he'd give her.
He really was happy she was back in his class and even happier to put her name back on his roster.
"Adele Graham." he smiled up at her, "Present." he said before marking it on the page.

Her unamused look turned into a slight smile when he pronounced her present, though she wished she had not been the first to class. Would he still have given her that self satisfied smirk were there other students in class?
"Since we have a minute or two... can I ask what I missed last class?"

"Actually." he said turning to go around his desk once more to grab a small packet of paper he brought it back to her, " I had a hopeful feeling you'd change your mind and kept a small packet of notes just in case. " he grinned at her then shrugged, "The numbers never lie." he said as if explaining his "feeling"

Adele gave him a sly look. "The numbers said I would be back, hm? So it had nothing to do with me."
She let the rest in the air as she took the packet, but allowed herself to smile. "Thank you."

He was quick to smile, her appearance in class pretty much assured a good rest of the day and he wasn't about to question why he felt like that, he only knew that she had this absurd way of making him smile and he liked that.
"You're welcome."

Sam had a wide smile on her face as she walked into the class that disappeared when she saw Adele there. The girl had been less than civil last week, well not to Sam, but to her brother and that was even worse in Sam's eyes. She raised an eyebrow speculatively before taking her own seat wondering what the girl was doing back. Still when she glanced at her brother he seemed incredulously happy about something and Sam had to wonder if it was because of Adele.

Tess came into class just a moment later, seeing that not many were here yet.
"Hi, Professor," she said, taking a seat near the front with that ever present smile. She waved to the other two girls in class before taking out her parchment an quill. If it weren't for her studies and the fact that she was actually quite intelligent, she could have passed for an airhead so easily.

Ashton was muttering something to himself while absently walking to class. He found it strange that he enjoyed arithmancy, numbers and what have you but he did all the same, perhaps it was the drama. Then again all classes had their upstarts. He was one to watch.
He enjoyed a good show now and then that the students put on with their life and death seeming dramas, usually over a boy or girl, aww how sweet. Pathetic sheep.
Taking a seat in the back he assumed his careless pose before glancing around to see who was in the room.

As Ivan escorted his sister into class, he nodded at the professor and found an empty seat near the back. He didn't see the Rafe guy in class today so he just nodded at Samantha but didn't sit nearby like he had in the last class. Once he sat down he pulled out his class book and waited for class to begin by reading a second book that was written in Romanian.

Anya walked in beside her brother, but he was acting a bit moody today so she decided not to sit next to him. Instead she went and sat nearby Tessa who she'd met in the courtyard the other day and seemed nice. Anya didn't really have many friends yet unless you counted Remus but she was trying to make some, even if Tessa was quite a few years older than herself.

Samantha smiled in return but did find it a little odd that he didn't sit next to her and briefly she wondered if she had done something wrong before shrugging it off and smiling at Anya who went to sit next to the hufflpuff Sam had yet to meet.

"Hey, sweetie," Tess said, smiling as Anya came and sat near her. "How are you today?" She was rather fond of the little girl after she met her the other day. She had a sort of brightness to her eyes and a courage that Tess could spot a mile away... which probably was the reason she found herself in gryffindor.

Anya softly replied, "Good so far. I love this class, but it's the only one that Remus isn't in. You don't mind if I sit near? Ivan is being moody today and it is good to have other company to smile with." Her English still needed some polish but she was trying. She genuinely liked Tessa, who always seemed to be smiling.

Caleb clapped his hands together before rubbing them and smiling at the class, there were still quite a few students missing and he was early but he wanted to get started. The class periods seemed to go by so quickly and he wanted to make sure the students could get their work done.
"If you'll all open your books to chapter five we will begin."

"Of course you can sit here," Tess said, indicating the seat next to her. Anya was such a sweet girl... Tess had quite a fondness for her.
She glanced over her shoulder at Ivan, her mouth drawing together at the side, wondering what could be bothering him and if she could cheer him up when the teacher clapped, and she looked forward again.
Smiling at Anya, she took out her book and opened to the right page.

Samantha turned in her seat and got out her book then turned to the page her brother specified reading over it quickly. She wondered at his chipper mood some more but wasn't going to dwell on it. She also wondered if Dorian would be showing up to class, and what his reaction would be to Adele joining their class again.
She was hoping Rafe didn't show, she didn't want another encounter with him, especially since her "protector" seemed to move away from her.
