Alice nodded at Alastor Moody, she would love to have sat with him but she also didn't want to leave Andi alone right now. She knew Kingsley would invite the other two over as soon as he came out of his half love-struck look on his face. She waited for Kingsley to wave the other two students over before nodding to Alastor Moody. "I would love to join you but I think Andromeda needs me at the moment. If you don't mind that is?" She hoped Moody wouldn't think less of her for turning down his invitation in favor of her cousin. But she knew that Frank, Marlene and Kingsley would keep him occupied for a little while anyways. She also had a feeling she'd bee seeing more of him soon enough, she was going to make a point to see him back at the school about her possible future within the department of Aurors.

Gideon had received the message about the meeting, but he was already in another meeting at the Ministry. He passed over his key points as quick as he could, did not even ask if anyone had any questions, then left the Ministry of Magic in a rush. Luckily it did not appear that anything had been discussed once he arrived, but he did note that his brother had already made it. Another thing Fabian bested Gideon at, punctuality. There seemed to be an awful lot of minors present. Gideon would never assume to second-guess Albus Dumbledore, but he wondered to the safety and efficiency of the children. Gideon looked to Dumbledore, the ring leader per say, and greeted him. "Albus, good to see you." His voice was rather flat as he spoke, knowing something must have been very wrong for this meeting to be called.

Andi watched quietly as Alice introduced her friends to Alastor Moody. The older Auror's lecture of her still stung, but she knew deep down that he was right. She needed to stop feeling sorry for herself and get back to work. And on that note, she made a sudden decision. When Alice came back, she turned to her with a determined look on her face. "Alice, when this meeting is over, can you help me with something? I want to move out of my apartment for a while and into the staff quarters at school. It shouldn't take long."

Alice looked a little surprised by Andi's request but she nodded, "Of course I'll help, you know that. Besides.." she lowered her voice, "I have to tell you what happened with Frank later anyways. But I would love to help you. Professor McGonagall has been teaching your class for you while you've been gone, but I miss having you at the school already. It would be nice to have you nearby again."

Frank glanced up as Alice and Kingsley slipped away to go talk to Alastor Moody. To Frank, he was the best Auror and someone he looked up to, as well as Fabian Prewett. It was going to be an honor being able to work beside both of them, although he was not as 'love-struck' as Kingsley.
Once he was motioned over, Frank motioned for Marlene to come over as well. He approached Moody and gave him a nod. "It's nice to meet you Mr. Moody," he said politely.

Marlene gave a polite smile to Alice's cousin Andromeda before she got up and followed Frank over to Alastor Moody. She held out her hand to him. "Mr. Moody, it's an honor to meet you," she said. "I'm Marlene McKinnon, and I'm planning to be an auror like you one day."
It was the first time she had spoken those words to anyone but Professor McGonagall, and she was surprised at the burst of pride she felt in her as she said them.

I didn't even want to come here, because he might be here. Angelique had to drag me out... and now that I'm here, I'm realizing how pathetic it is for me to be sitting around feeling sorry for myself. And I can't stay in my apartment, knowing he's just two floors above me. I can't risk running into him... I don't think I can handle it yet. I can do my job better if I stay at school, anyway." She glanced over at Frank and shrugged. "I'm not sure how much help I'll be with Frank," she added in a whisper, "since I clearly don't know as much about love as I thought I did. But I'll try."

Andi gave her cousin a supportive hug. She didnt' want advice, she just wanted to... share. She thought that maybe.. just maybe she could say something that showed she wasn't alone, that maybe there was more to the story than what it appeared to be. And mor than anything, she wanted to be there to support Alice and not tell her what to do or how to do it, but just support her in whatever she needed to do for herself.
"Don't worry, I wasn't asking for advice.. I just wanted to share. You aren't alone, Andi and I know what you're going through. I jsut want to be here for you when you need me. And you're right, I think maybe the school would be best for now. It'll give you something to focus on and I'm sure you are needed there. They wouldn't have assigned you to the school if there wasn't a reason."

Andi nodded. "OK, then we can talk and pack up my things. I'm sure things will be better once I'm back at work, keeping my mind occupied. And... I hope things work out for you, Alice."
She glanced around the room then, noticing that Professor Dumbledore looked decidely grim. "Do you have any idea what this meeting's about?" she whispered to Alice.

Isabella and Voltaire had arranged for Rori to babysit for Conor again, then hurried down to the Order headquarters for the meeting. At the door, they ran into Vincent, and all three walked into the meeting together.
"Hello, Professor Dumbledore," Isabella said, nodding her greeting to each of the other Order members, some of whom were new. A couple of them were even students. Noticing the somber atmosphere, Isabella refrained from chatting, choosing instead to stay silent as Vincent walked over and sat next to Emily.
**I'm cheating.... but I didn't feel like logging in every one of my Order members. I still have to do Cassidy.

Cassidy was the last to show up. She was still working on trying to find the last Death Eater who had been involved with the plot against Tyler, and hadn't noticed the owl until it was almost time for the meeting to begin. So she hurried to Headquarters and removed the protective charms, so she could enter. She entered the room and frowned at the somber atmosphere. Something bad must have happened, she thought.
Quietly, she walked over and sat down next to Angelique, then looked to Dumbledore.

Dumbledore looked around and determined that everyone was present. With a heavy heart, he took a breath and got to his feet. "Welcome, Order members, new and old. I know you're all wondering why I've summoned you here today. And the truth is, it is under very sad circumstances that I must hold this meeting. This morning, Hagrid, the groundskeeper at Hogwarts, discovered a body in the woods. It was of a young girl, a Hogwarts student, by the name of Katie Lawrence. There was not a mark on her body, and, after a thorough examination by Madam Pomfrey, it was determined that the girl's death could only have been caused by the killing curse."
He paused to allow this information to sink in.

Alastor watched as Kingsley's two friends approached and both greeted him, Marlene even shook his hand. Smiling at the brave young Gryffindors he wondered why there was such an infulx of students wanting to be auror's. "It is a pleasure to meet all of you, please take a seat, I believe Headmaster Dumbledore is going to begin soon." Leaning over to the students as they sat next to him he quietly whispered so only the three of them could hear.
"During this meeting your going to come face to face with the worst fear of any decent auror, after this meeting if you can still stand proudly and say you wish to join I would like to meet with all of you afterwards, Alice as well."

Gideon sat quietly, listening to Dumbledore speak. He was horrified that a student had been murdered on Hogwarts property. Clearly a dark wizard was involved, and that unnerved him. At Hogwarts. Everyone spoke of Hogwarts as such a safe place and here a student had been killed. Gideon swallowed hard.

Andi was horrified to learn that a student had been killed at the school. Katie Lawrence... she scoured her brain, trying to put a face to the name. She remembered the girl's name on her class roster for advanced Herbology, but she didn't know her. She could have been anyone.
A pang of guilt struck her, as she realized that she should have been there. She was supposed to be protecting the students and looking out for dark wizards on school grounds. Instead, she'd been home crying like a little girl because her boyfriend broke up with her. Pathetic. She was suddenly very angry with herself. It strengthened her resolve get back to doing her job and stop moping about Ted. As of this moment, she was going to have to put Ted out of her mind and focus on doing her job.

Marlene was shocked to hear that a fellow Gryffindor student had been found dead on school grounds. She remembered the girl; she was shy and quiet, and since Marlene was both of those things, she often noticed other people who were as well. She had a friend that she was always with... Gia Campbell. She immediately wondered whether Gia had been told about the death of her friend.
Raising her hand, she said, "Excuse me, Professor Dumbledore, but does this mean you have no suspects? Are the students going to be told the truth about what happened to Katie?"

Dumbledore shook his head. "I'm afraid we have no suspects at this time," he said grimly. "I will be announcing it at dinner tonight, but I wanted to be sure that we have adequate security measures in place, in order to ensure all students and their parents that there will not be another such incident on school grounds. And that is why I have assembled the Order today."
He cleared his throat and looked around. "We have two aurors already working on school grounds; Alastor Moody and Andromeda Black. However, since they both have their separate missions to attend to, I would like two more aurors to be stationed there for security and investigative purposes. Angelique St. Clare has recommended Fabian Prewett and Elphias Doge for this. All other aurors will continue on their individual assignments. But, since we need additional security, I would also like to charge the members of the Order of the Phoenix, especially those who are already present on school grounds, to also be involved in patroling and investigating. Miss McKinnon, you, along with Miss Prewett, Mr. Longbottom, and Mr. Shacklebolt, are going to be quite important in this, but I want to be sure that you are aware of the dangers. One student is already dead, and I do not want to lose any more."

Marlene nodded. "I can't speak for my classmates, but I know that I am ready to do whatever has to be done. I'm pretty sure we all feel the same way, if we agreed to come here at all. I knew Katie, a little anyway, and I know she wouldn't want any other students to be hurt. I'm willing to fight, if necessary, to make sure that doesn't happen."
She spoke with a heated intensity that no one would have expected from her. This was the way she grieved, instead of crying over the loss of Katie, she wanted to make sure no one else suffered the same fate. It wasn't fair; Katie had been so young and innocent. The sorrow and shock she was feeling turned into anger and determination that lit a fire in her normall cool blue eyes.

Alice was immediately brought into the present. All thoughts of anything else forgotten for the moment. She was shocked by the news, she too had known the girl, though had not been very close. She regretted that now, but regrets would solve nothing and would not bring Katie back. Instead she gained a resolve and a backbone that had nothing to do with anything else other than to protect others. Although she was not an auror yet, she knew that one day she would be and this was one of the greatest fears that could be faced. The death of any child worse than death itself. She knew she would stand side by side any auror or order member to protect the school and those within.
The thought finally sunk in that he had mentioned a killing curse.. they were untraceable she knew. It wasn't likely find a suspect through magical detection.. and that meant a dark wizard or merlin forbid wizards were on the school grounds and that was a very real danger.
"I will do everything within my power to help. I am here for a reason, and I will not run and hide when that reason shows it's head. You can count on me to stand with you and help wherever I am needed."

All of Frank's personal worries left as he heard the new of a fellow Gryffindor's death. He knew of Katie, but never really talked to her. His look turned to determination. Frank was going to help with the order as much as he could. He was going to get the chance to prove himself as an Order member. Yes, it was frightening to know that there was a death on the school grounds, but now it just encouraged Frank more to help protect the school and the other students.
"I'm with Marlene and Alice on this," said Frank. "I will do everything I can to help. I joined for a reason and that wasn't to just run away when help is needed." He was going to stand strong along side the rest of them.
