Herbology, Class 2-A (yrs 1-4)

[Lilac Drake]

"Lyla please." she said smiling at Seth, she knew him well. Out of all the Slytherins, besides her brother that was, Seth seemed one of the nicest and since she was often seen in the Slytherin common room or her brother's room then she was sort of well known in the house.

"And yes...It's a good day, how about for you?"

[Seth Inophen]

"I'm doing alright," Seth nodded politely. "Did you notice Professor Black isn't here," He jerked his head discretely toward Professor McGonagall."I wonder why?"

[Lilac Drake]

Lyla chewed her bottom lip, "No...I didn't hmm.." that was strange, "I wonder if she'll be a new teacher or...well..." she grew quiet because the situation with Professor Black was difficult and the teacher would probably not want it being discussed.

"Well, I'm sure Proifessor McGonagal is just subbing for now," Seth said as he took a seat beside Lyla. The topic of Ms. Black seemed to make her a little nervous, so Seth changed the subject, not wanting to pry. "So what have you been up to latly Lyla?" he asked.

"Oh nothing that interesting." she said with a shrug. "How about you? How's Maxi?" one of the things she loved about Seth was that he loved a Hufflepuff which on a Slytherin scale ranked inferior, but Seth saw through prejudices and pushed them out of the way.

[Seth Inophen]

"She's good," Seth said cheerfully. "She's working really hard because of the tournament though," he added. He smiled. Seth was glad there were at least SOME people who approved of his relationship with Maxi.
"My brother's in town too," Seth said, not as happily as when he spoke about Maxi.

But Lyla was in Gryffindor and therefore she admired anyone who wouldn't judge her too harshly for being somehow inadequate. They liked her...for the most part, or at least they pretended to like her for Ethan's sake. She had never seen her brother really angry, mainly because he didn't get angry with her, but she was his little sister, otherwise he wasn't someone you wanted to piss off.

"That's nice about Maxi, tell her congratulations from me." she smiled then he turned to talk about his brother, "Are you...not happy your brother's in town?"

[Gage Oliver]

"One moment Joey," Gage said as he saw Seth walk in and take a seat with Lyla Drake in the row in front of him. He threw a broken quill from the bottom of his bag and hit the Slytherin boy in the back of the head. "Hey Seth," he said before turning around again. He knew his best friend wasn't ignoring him, just letting him make convorsation for once.

Lilac turned her eyes a little wide when Gage threw a broken quill at Seth's head and then her brows whent up as she faced Seth with a questioning expression although at the corner of her mouth was a hint of amusement.

[Seth Inophen]

Seth laughed and scratched the back of his head where Gage had hit him. "You've met my best friend Gage, haven't you?" He asked, turning toward the younger Ravenclaw boy. "Hey, Gaget," Seth teased. He picked up the quill off the ground. "You drop something?" He said, laughing and knowing perfectly well that the second year had thrown it at him.

[Gage Oliver]

Gage looked back at the 4th year with a look of mock surprise, "Now how did my quill get all the way over there?" Gage asked, shaking his head. He laughed and took the quill, stuffing it back in his bag.

"Hello there," Gage said to Lyla. He wasn't sure if he had met her yet, he was still meeting people. "Didn't mean to interrupt you..."

[Lilac Drake]

She shook her head quickly, "No that's alright." she smiled, "I just was unaware that herbology required a facemask I'll be better about that next time. One must always be prepared against flying projectiles." she nodded as if completely serious.

[Gage Oliver]

"Yes, It's always best to be prepared," Gage said, nodding his head seriously. Then he grinned widely and began to laugh.

[Seth Inophen]

"Only when Gage is around actually," Seth said, reassuring Lyla and laughing along. He looked between Gage and Lyla for a moment. "You two have met haven't you?" It was both likely and unlikely that they have, since Gage was both new, and a couple years below Seth and Lyla.

[Lilac Drake]

"No." she said shaking her head. "I haven't had the pleasure yet." she extended her hand to Gage.

"Lilac Drake...people call me Lyla." she inserted softly in that shy way of hers.

[Gage Oliver]

"Gage Oliver," he said, taking Lyla's hand and shaking it. "And it's a pleasure to meat you." he smiled again. He sat back and put his sketch book on his desk, he had intended on drawing some of the plants Professor Black had set around the class before the lesson started, but had gotten caught up in talking with Joey, Seth, and Lyla.

"You too." she smiled retrieving her hand to her side and biting on her lip for inspiration to any further conversation. She couldn't think of a thing, but sitting there and looking pretty was what her father said she did best.
