Professor McGonagall stepped into the History of Magic classroom which was empty other than the normal furnishings. She had been asked by Dumbledore to fill in for Professor Graham today. She was one of the oldest professors at the school besides Dumbledore himself, already in her fifties although she was quite spritely for her age. She had learned quite a bit of history even in her own time.
The students were not expecting a substitute today since Professor Graham had left for personal reasons quite suddenly, but as always Professor McGonagall was happy to fill in where she was needed. Lately there had been an abundance of teachers and she'd chosen not to teach a perminant class this term. Though she was looking forward to teaching transfiguration again one day, she was not adverse to a little time off that she could spend assiting Dumbledore in other duties that she could do for him. Which today happend to be teaching History of Magic.
As she normally did before some classes she taught she transformed into her animagus form of a tabby cat and climbed onto Professor Graham's desk. None of the students were expecting her to be here today so she might as well enjoy the moment while she thought about what things to cover today. There were so many cats around the castle as pets that it wasn't unusual for a cat to be found lounging around and her plain every day tabby fur was not easily recognizable from any other cat in the castle. She began licking her paw while she waited for the students to arrive and thinking about the lesson planned for today.

Kingsley approached his History of Magic class and carefully opened the door, stepping inside he looked around the classroom slightly curious as to where Professor Graham was at. Spotting a black cat sitting on the professor's desk, he walked up and began to pet it. "Hrm, Professor Graham must of gotten a new pet." Wanting to be ready by the time class started, Kingsley grabbed a seat close to the front and began to pull out his textbook, parchment and a quill while he awaited the arrival of Professor Graham and the start of class.

Gage entered class with his books and smiled at Proessor McGonagall. He balanced his books unsteadily in his left hand, givin that he had recently broken his right one, and climbed a few seats behind Kingsley Shacklebolt, taking his seat and waiting for class.

Minerva sat with her cat eyes on the few students who had entered early, she made a mental note to give them house points for being early. Now if only the rest of the students would show up on time she wouldn't have to begin docking points. She gave a long cat stretch before curling up again, but mentally she was going over her lesson plans for the day.

Severus entered class and didn't take notice of the cat on the desk. he went to his normal seat and took out his note book and quill. It was still fairly early, the bulk of the rest of the students hadn't arrived yet and he figured the professor would show up soon as well. When he scanned the classroom for the professor that's when he saw the cat. He wondered if he could get a pet next year, it was a vague thought and mostly to fill a void in him since he had no real friends.

Sophia entered the room with her nose already in the book they were reading for class, she found it fascinating. Of course she found all of her classes fascinating but the History of Magic book while others may have thought it dull and extremely difficult to get through, Sofie had already read it...twice, and was working on her third. There was always something to go back to and rethink, which is what she loved about books.
She felt her way around for a seat without even taking notice of the cat in the room or any other living being for that matter.

Sophie Stark had taken a seat next to Gage without noticing, she was reading a book, as Gage so commonly saw her doing in the common room they shared. He knew she was probably very interested in her reading, but Gage thought he should be polite and at least say hello.
"Hey Sophie," Gage said, wondering if she even heard her.

Sophia shot her head up when someone said hello to her. It was rare enough an occasion that she was a little startled, but not so rare that she didn't think Gage could be addressing her, of course the startled could also be from what she was studying about the History of magic. Though she had read the book before it still seemed fascinating the second time around.
"Hey Gage." she smiled softly.

Gage smiled at her. "Didn't mean to startle you," he said. "How are you Sophie?" Gage asked. She seemed to be reading their history of magic text book, which, to no surprise, Gage found quite interesting as well.

"Oh that's fine." she said in regards of being startled, she laughed a bit, " I just got caught up." she smiled then wider in his direction, "How are you gage?" She glanced up at the front desk where she expected the teacher to be and to check and make sure they wouldn't be scolded for talking when she saw the cat.
She frowned momentarily before shrugging and turning towards Gage for an answer.

Somewhere in Severus's head, there was a pain beginning to grow. He reached into his bag and pulled out his text book, opened up his text book and tried to block out all annoying white noise. He crossed his arms over his book and the laid his head down. Nothing was more annoying to Severus than pre-class time chatting...unless he was doing it, then it was perfectly normal, but since today there was no one yet in class but Ravenclaws and Gryffindors, it was annoying.
