Ivan saw the ball comming but it had been too well hit this time to stop it no matter how good of a player he was. But he dove for the ball regardless and managed to slide under the ball only a second too late. But he didn't seem upset as he stood and brushed the sand off. He looked down and decided this was going to be more interesting of a game than he'd thought. Instead of brushing the sand off his shirt he just took it off instead and threw it onto the ground nearby. It was time to focus, as if he hadn't been before.
His chest however was not smooth and beautiful like the other guys. He had scars across his chest like claws of a beast in one long swipe. It was an old scar but he no longer really thought about it. When he passed the ball under the net for the other team to serve his exposed back showed similiar scars, though his chest and back were sturdy, muscular and strong. He was too focused on the ball now to notice if anyone saw, mainly because he had forgotten they were there at all.

Sam went for the ball as well and contrary to her dignity and class acting she was just as competitive as the next person she would have dived had Ivan not done so first. She did however come up next to him to smile and help pat down the dirt, "Anyone willing to dive for a ball is definitely worth having on a team, it was a good attempt." she said honestly and then shook her head at the twins across the net. "We're going to have to be clever to outdo those two." she said conspiritorily towards her own teammates while her hands rested on her hips.
When Ivan took his shirt off she inhaled sharply. She wasn't necessarily affected by a half naked male as most twittering females her age were. No she had stict lessons in proper behavior and not letting anything shock her flesh wise, but the scars held her captivated. There was a story there, and quite possibly pain. It would have been stupid to ask if he was alright considering he had just dove for a ball and obviously the scars were long healed but she wanted to ask anyway. Her hand was up almost reaching out but she stopped herself at the last moment shaking from her daze.
She had afew scars herself, her mother wasn't really one to leave scars but she had them, she had more lacerated all over her soul but that again was a different story.

"I'm not serving." Eve said though she caught the ball Ivan rolled under the net. She didn't have a lot of power to serve overhand besides the boys were much better at it, she offered the ball towards the middle of them whoever would grab it could serve.

Josh reached out and brushed his hand with Eve's as he took the ball. "I'll serve it. Just be ready." He gave Eve a wink and then gave a nod to Lance. He took a few steps back. Josh took his stance and then he served the ball with precision. He was focused on the game just like he does on Quidditch.

Eve nodded, her fingers tingled when he brushed them and she blushed but tried to hide it as she took position ready to counter if something came over the net.

Samantha felt it was her turn to prove herself so she jumped up to counter his serve and hit the ball over the net, it was a quick and graceful movement though it lacked Ivan's strength or the twin's precision it was a good hit.

Ivan realized the dark haired girl was going for the ball and let her have an opportunity to to see what she could do. He remained focused on the ball however as it was returned over the net. He went low sinking his feet into the sand preparing for the return hit if it was near the front of the net where he was now standing. He hadn't noticed Sam's gaze or any reaction, he didn't seem to notice anything but the game at that moment. He was focused. Not because of the game itself but because he always gave his full attention to whatever he was doing and not easily distracted.

Lance was the first to respond when the ball came directly at him. This time it hadn't been hit hard and he was able to get under it with his arms in perfect aim as the twisted upwards with the hit so that it would be aimed near the back of their little sand court that he didn't remember appearing but figured Sam must have done it when he wasn't paying attention. "Got it!" He shouted so that Eve wouldn't run into him.

Rystain saw the ball coming strait at his head this time so he crouched down and raised his arms just in time catch the bottom edge of the ball and return it over the other side of the net with a precisely powered hit.
In front of him though he saw Ivan already preparing in case their opponent managed to hit the ball. Rystain vaguely wondered at the Romanian on his team, but he didn't seem like a bad guy and he could respect a talented athlete even if he wasn't in Slytherin. Although the guy didn't seem to fit the normal Ravenclaw bookworm stereotype he'd always known. Rystain vaguely wondered to himself if the guy had been sorted wrong, but it took all types he supposed even the Ravenclaws had the random athlete among them. He wondered if Ivan would join the Ravenclaw team.
He refocused as he watched the ball to see if it would be returned..

Eve went for it but she could already tell that she wasn't going to make it in time. Rystain managed to hit a bare spot Eve dove and hit the ball, but it went out of bounds.
Perfect now she was all dusty and dirty, she tried to wipe at her shirt.. She looked abck at the bows and made a sheepish smile, "Sorry guys."

Lance smiled good naturedly at Eve, "it's okay we'll get the next one, you did your best. Besides that was a well aimed shot there Rystain." He went over to pick up the ball and throw it back to Ivan who was next to serve.

Eve nodded, she'd get the next one. While she hated to let the boys down she knew her worth when it came to sports and so did they. They were major sports buffs and she of course had played with them over the years. They knew what to expect from her. She smiled continuing to dust off her shirt and move into position.

"Nice shot Rystain." Sam said turning at an angle to look behind her. She gave him one of her dazzling smiles and returned attention to the game. Sam liked winning, she lived for winning, and the twins may have been good, but she *was* going to win.

Rystain said thanks and shifted spots so that Ivan could serve the ball this time. He enjoyed winning too... and he focused himself getting ready for the next ball that headed in his direction. He hadn't noticed her smile but if he had he would have smiled back. He hoped that Ivan would get a good shot in there, he wouldn't mind a nice freebie point.

Ivan looked at his teamates to be sure they were ready and then nodded to the twins before looking directly at Eve. He noticed that she seemed quite in her element to be playing with those two boys and aimed his serve at her just to see what she could do. He threw the ball up and hit it with a surprising amount of force towards it's target. Definatly not your average Ravenclaw, but he was doing it to learn.. learning about people was almost as much of interest as learning about books.

Eve, for all her tinyness, was fierce when it came to sports, probably because she grew up with the twins. His well aimed hit was for her and she knew it, she didn't even have to yell that she had it as the ball was coming straight for her.
Keeping her knees bent and her eye on the target she bumped the ball up into the air, but not over. She had instead tossed it in Josh's direction believing he would know what to do.
There was an opening on the other side that would've been perfect to score on, something that Eve couldn't do given the serve was straight for her, but she could bump the ball up for one of the boys to finish.

Josh watched the ball as it went over the net, and watched as Eve hit it towards him. He caught a quick glance to Lance, letting him know that he was going to set it up for him to spike.
He bumped the ball a little higher in the air towards Lance as there was an opening near the net for Lance to spike the ball downwards.

Lance caught the look from his brother and jumped for the ball right near the net where Josh had hit it up and slammed it down towards the open spot that had been left ungaurded. Even if they managed to hit it from that angle it would have to be a near miracle for them to get it back over the net succesfully. He had power in the hit, and an almost uncanny aim. But once again in unspoken unison the twins followed through with Eve like they had played so many times before together. They were a good team and their closeness showed when they did things together. It was one of the few things where lately Lance had felt more like the old threesome they had been, instead of like he was intruding on his brother lately. But he also knew he'd been trying to give Josh that space, but it made times like this when they were all together that much more enjoyable.

The problem with playing with only three players was it left a lot of open space. Sam could have cursed that they went for one of those open spaces, no one was at fault for not covering the space, but still Sam didn't like losing. So much so that she made the honest effort to dive for the ball she bumped it but severely out of bounds. Her eyes followed the ball as it went off the court and then she sighed laying there in the beach sand for a moment while the ball was retrieved. Asside from diving into the sand and the abrasions caused from that the sand felt good, it was warm and molding to her skin.
She sent a look over her shoulder at her teammates that was part smile, part determination, before she stood up. She said a quick spell to clean herself up and noticed a few cuts on her chest where she had slid. Well at least no one could say she wasn't a full player.

Rystain grabbed his wand and accio'd the ball back to him. He wasn't in the mood to go running across the hot sand if he could avoid it. He put is wand away and tossed the ball back to the other team. He watched Samantha though as she was covered in sand appreciating the sight with another image coming to mind but then she managed to get sand off the easy way too. Too bad, he would have offered to help her with that. He grinned with a lopsided charm and winked at her.
