As Alastor entered St. Mungo's his wounds began to show up in full effect, limping towards the counter he wiped a small drop of blood that had begun to fall from his lip. Reaching the counter he looked around at the empty entrance room and wondered where all the healers were. "Anyone here?! It's moody, I need another patching if you got it!" Waiting patiently hoping someone heard him he wiped the occasional drop of blood coming from his lip and hoped a healer got here soon.

Danny had been with another patient, but she had heard him, and finished up quickly before taking the file and heading towards the nurses' station. Merlin only knew where the healers were lately. Sometimes it felt like she was the only working.
"Alastor!" She said, a smile on her face until she went behind the counter to drop off the other file. When she caught sight of the quite terrible shape he was in, the smile dropped.
She knew Alastor Moody because he came in on a semi regular basis, which wasn't a good thing. Being a regular here meant bad news.
"I'm going to levitate you to a bed, all right?" She said, her business mood back. "And we'll fix you up, good as new, in no time."

As Alastor waited a younger female mediwitch that he recognized from earlier trips to St. Mungo's. "Danny girl, you sure are a sight for sore eyes." Alastor said attempting to wink but ending up with a slight twitch of his eyebrow. As Danny spoke Alastor began to truly admire how pretty Danny was. In another lifetime where hunting dark witches and wizards wasnt a lifestyle, I would ask her out on a date. He thought to himself as Danny carefully began to levitate Alastor into the air and walk him down the corridors of St. Mungo's.
As they neared the room that was to be his, Alastor looked over at Danny and smiled. "Atleast you have to admit that I am probably the cheapest date you've ever had." With a small pained chuckle, he was lowered slowly into bed.

After Vincent had dismissed the meeting, she met with him briefly to discuss the particulars of the mission Moody had been on. It was only the second time she had ever glimpsed the man, and she wasn't sure what to make of him. He was strange, but most definitely dedicated to his work. She had heard that there was no one better at the job than Alastor Moody.
Once she knew the details of Moody's mission, she apparated over to St. Mungo's and headed past the muggle wards and into the building. Vincent had assured he he would join them shortly, but to start, she would have to meet with him alone.
It didn't take her long to find him. He was flirting with a pretty young mediwitch who was levitating him onto a bed. She stood back a moment and smiled. He was definitely a unique man...
"Is the patient ready for a quick meeting, or should I wait a few minutes?" she asked.

"If I didn't know better, Alastor," Danny said with a wry smile, "I'd say I was the reason you went out and got injured so much. What are you going to do when I have an intern see to you?"
"Cheapest date. Probably most high maintnance, though." She was teasing him. In fact, she quite liked Alastor. "Now, are you going to tell me exactly how you're injured, or do I need to perform a whole check up?"
She looked over her shoulder when another voice interrupted, and glanced back at the man in the bed. "If you don't mind my presence, you can talk to him," she told the woman. "Or I should be finished with him in a few minutes."

Alastor chuckled softly at Danny's response to his flirtatious jokes. He always enjoyed a little flirting with the mediwitches of St. Mungo's, seeing as a good portion of his time was spent here getting patched up from some random incident or other. Even the best trained wizard cannot dodge every spell thrown his way. As Danny mentioned an intern taking care of him Alastor snorted.
"You wouldnt dare Danny girl, thats all I need some young intern who still believes life is made up of faerie dust and happy thoughts." When Danny asked him about his injuries, the laughter stopped and his eyes met Danny's. "Its pretty bad this time girlie. I have atleast one broken rib, and I believe it may be putting pressure on my lungs. The left leg is hurting but not broken, and..." He paused as he heard another voice coming from the doorway as he looked he noticed Angelique St. Clare. "Well hello there Angelique, glad you can join the fun."
Listening to Danny tell his boss that she could either deal with her being there or wait the urge to laugh almost completely overwhelmed him. "Don't worry about little Danny here, if she had wanted to harm the Ministry, she has had more than a few chances to end my pain." With a small wink at Danny as she began her diagnosis, he motioned for Angelique to come join him at his bed side. "Come lets get this meeting started, i'm sure Vincent is going to take his sweet time getting over here. So lets start by you telling me exactly what you were told my assignment was supposed to be."

Angelique pulled up a chair and studied the man for a moment while the young mediwitch did her work. "As I understand it, you were on the trail of old wizarding relics up in... Scotland, was it? Near the Isle of Skye? Most impressive that you were able to find the pendant of Avalon... is it true that it once belonged to Viviana, the Lady of the Lake?" Without waiting for an answer, Angelique continued talking. "At any rate, judging by your injuries, you weren't the only one interested in the pendant. Want to tell me what happened?"

Danny tilted her head at Alastor. "And you don't think I believe the world is made of fairy dust and happy thoughts?" She found his statement a little intriguing. Did she seem unhappy or pessimistic to him? Truly, she was not.
She sighed, though, her own fae growing serious. "Stop diagnosing yourself," she chatised gently. "That's my job."
Danielle did what she could for Alastor, working quietly while the woman spoke with her patient. She was a little surprsed how candidly she was speaking while Danny was present. She tried to ignore what they were saying, at any rate, knowing it wasn't her place to repeat a word of it.

Alastor watched as Danny chided him for attempting to diagnose himself, brushing it off he turned his attention to Angelique. "Yeah, thats the basics of it. I decided to take the initiative and stop off at every dark magic shop and gathering place from here to northern scotland, looking for information that might possibly lead me to the identities of the death eaters."
Rolling slightly to the left to get a better look at Angelique, he groaned with pain. " Much better, now as I was saying. Most of these nicks and scratches are from overly brave wizards thinking they might be able to make a name for themselves by bagging an Auror. Thinking back, if I had allowed one to run off and tell the rest, I may not of been in so many fights." He chuckled at a joke only he seemed to get, wiping a small line of blood which had dripped down to his chin he continued.
"Needless to say this Dark Lord and his death eaters are quite the rumor starters, so I was unable to acquire any useful any information. The real trouble was when I reached the Isle of Skye I was attacked by a group of masked wizards claiming to be death eaters." As the memory of the battle seemed to come back to him he looked up at Angelique a huge boyish grin covering his face as he spoke. "I took down two of them before the others finally fled leaving me the way you see me now. One of them dropped the necklace during the fight, it matched the description so I grabbed it and came back. So, the pendant may be a fake that those death eaters were going to plant to throw us off the trail."
Lowering his head slightly he looked up at Angelique with an almost desperate look. "Angelique, I dont claim to be the best auror in wizarding history, but I have spent some time doing a good job and i'm afraid the Dark Lord may be the strongest dark wizard since Grindelwald..." He let the sentence trail off into thin air as he lay back down staring at the ceiling.

Angelique listened to his story gravely. "Well, it's lucky you weren't killed," she remarked thoughtfully. "Based on the little we know about these Death Eaters, it seems they're getting a little more serious and organized in their efforts. They're not just out making trouble anymore, they're concentrating.. building up to something. Vincent's not even sure the relics are the key anymore. At first we thought maybe he was just a collector, but now we're wondering if that was to throw us off the scent. There have been a few disappearances in Hogsmeade, and people are getting scared."
She sighed and watched a minute as the young witch tended to Moody's injuries. "I suppose you've heard that Dumbledore's going to go through with his miniature version of the Triwizard Tournament at Hogwarts? Using one champion from each house? I'm afraid for the welfare of those chlidren... I don't think this Lord Voldemort is going to stand by and let it happen without trying something. So I've told Dumbledore that I'd like an Auror present during the games, to serve as both a guard and an advisor. I already have one Auror posted there and working as a teacher, Andromeda Black, but she's young and inexperienced. I think, for the games, we need someone who's been doing this a while. So, what do you say, Alastor? Are you interested? In comparison to your last mission, this one should be a piece of cake."

"You should take it," Danielle said, smiling fondly at Alastor. "Of course, it would mean not seeing you again for a while, and as heartbroken as I would be, your body could use the rest."
She took a step back, using th break in conversation to speak. "I'm going to get you a couple of potions. I'll be right back. And I know it's terribly difficult for you, but try and stay still until I come back."

As Angelique finished, Moody flashed Danielle a quick smile as she told him to stay still till she returned. Bringing his gaze back around to Angelique, he lowered his voice a few decibels. "First off Miss St. Clare let me say that i'm quite hurt you would a think a small group of wizards could kill me." Alastor released a low, throaty chuckle that quickly turned into a cough followed by a small bit of blood that had remained after the healing.
"As for Dumbledore and the schemes that crazy old man comes up with, yes I do know about this little tournament he wants to hold. I insist on guarding this tournament. I dont trust many to watch that old fool's back, Merlin knows the old man can stir up mischief worse than most. I am assuming Dumbledore himself will be Master of Ceremony's, but I would like to know who the judges and champions will be."
Leaning in close enough to whisper, Moody took a quick glance around the room. "These death eaters are too smart, I want to make sure I know everything I can about the judges and champions before I am thrown into a situation where lives depend on my preparedness." With that said he lay back down so as not to invoke Danny's ire and waited for Angelique to hopefully release the names he wanted.

Angelique nodded at the mediwitch as she hurried off, then looked back at Moody. She was actually relieved to hear he was interested in helping to oversee the Tournament. Knowing that someone as thorough and reliable as he was would be involved made her feel much more secure about the event. "Good, I'm glad you're willing to take that job," she said. "I'm not sure who the contestants are yet. Dumbledore intends to announce them in a big ceremony tomorrow night*. I also think he's still looking for judges, but he's agreed to accept one auror on the panel. Do you want that job, or do you just want to oversee it as a security officer?"
*The actual ceremony thread is going on right now, but the announcements have not taken place yet.

Alastor listened as Angelique more or less invited him to be a judge at the Hogwarts tri wizard tournament. As she finished he lowered his head for a moment in silent contemplation before looking back up and meeting her gaze once more. "Judge eh? Well if 'ol Albus will have me, i'll be glad to be a judge, but I do have one request."
He slowly slung his legs over the bed to sit on the edge. His eyes darting about looking for Danny to enter the room. "I will report my progress to Albus Dumbledore and only Albus Dumbledore. I have reason to believe there may be spies in the ministry and so refuse to trust communication within the ministry during such a momentous event." He continued to sit there while waiting for what he assumed would be quite a heated response from Angelique.

Angelique was taken aback. She could understand him not trusting most people in the Ministry--there were a number of people that she did not trust, either. But to refuse to communicate even with her was insulting. She was his boss! Surely he could trust her, if no one else, right? There were methods by which they could arrange secure communication, if that was all that bothered him.
"Are you saying that you don't trust me?" she said, her voice raised.

"Don't raise your voice at me Angelique St. Clare." Alastor stood up from his bed and locked gazes with Angelique. After a moment of the pseudo staring contest, he began to chuckle. "Well Miss St. Clare, I must apologize for my demanding nature. I've been an Auror for nine years, i've caught more dark wizards and witches than any other auror currently in the ministry's employee." With a small sigh he turned back to Angelique with a small smile.
"And the only thing more annoying than a boss who is a pushover, are those who think i'm something special because I like what I do. Vincent seems to think your something special and Vincent knows his stuff, so i'll trust you will contact me while I am at Hogwarts and fill me in on whatever secure method you have set up."
Walking towards the door, his wounds seemingly much better but his limbs showing signs of stiffness he slowly opened the door and stopped for a moment. "Oh and Angelique, you might wanna dust off some of the cells in Azkaban, we're gonna have guests soon enough." With the final word still hanging in the air Alastor strode out of the hospital room and back into the life he had come to know intimately, the life of a hunter.

Danielle had wanted to give them time to speak in private, so she had gathered the two potions she wanted Alastor to take, and then sat outside the room for a few minutes.
When the door opened, she looked up, expecting the woman to be leaving. She was going to smile politely and then tend to Alastor.
But no. The stubborn man himself was walking out.
Danny was on her feet in an instant. "Mr. Moody!" She said, ready to chastise away. "What happened to staying still?"

Alastor stopped in the lobby as he heard Danielle attempting to stop him once again. Turning around to face the girl, he swiftly approached her leaning in close enough to whisper. His gaze locked onto her's and gently placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Danny, I need you to listen to me girl. This bloodhound smells trouble on the horizon, save those potions for the people who really need them. I foresee you becoming very busy in the near future and I cannot guarantee that it is a good thing." With that said he pulled back and removed his wand and a single galleon from the pocket of his robes. Touching the galleon lightly with the wand, it transformed into a bright pink rose. Alastor tossed the rose to Danny with a smile.
"A present for my favorite healer. Oh and Danny as for what happened to staying still." He paused for a short breath, "I'll have plenty of time to stay still when i'm dead." With a wink and a step backwards, Alastor disappeared with a loud crack!

Angelique had come up behind Danny, shaking her head. "Honestly, that man..." she said to Danny. "Stubborn as a mule. I've had some challenging missions in my time, but trying to be his boss just might be the hardest."
She walked forward and headed to the door. "Thanks for taking care of him. I can see you do it a lot; he seems to trust you. I' assume we can count on your discretion?"

Danny nearly gaped at Alastor as he left. He was going to get himself killed if he kept running off before she could ever fully heal him. She could already see that that limp was going to be permanant if he kept this up.
She sighed, mulling over his words as he looked at Angelique. "I won't repeat a word of what I heard," she promised. "Doctor patient confidentiality, right?" She added with a smile to say that yes, she could be trusted. "Please send him back my way if he's in any pain."
