It was Conor's naptime, so Isabella decided it was high time that she and Voltaire head up to Wesley's office to have a long-overdue chat with the former Unspeakable. Since she was still uneasy leaving him alone and unprotected, she asked Anna to sit with Conor for an hour or so while they were upstairs.
Once she was sure Conor would be safe, she grabbed a reluctant Voltaire by the ear and led him out of her office and up to the sixth floor. "And after all, darling, it was your idea to talk to him, was it not?" she reminded.

Voltaire was rubbing his ear. "Yeah, but You talk to him better..." he frowned and thought of pouting but instead crossed his arms over his chest and said "I only thought of him because he would probably know more about than me, I'm either ofensive or defensive and don't give me that look!" he said pointing a finger at her "You know I'm talking spell work here!" and with that he crossed his arms again and stomped along side her to Wesley's office.

Isabella shook her head as they stopped at Wesley's office door. Voltaire could be so stubborn sometimes! "Well, I may talk to him better, but you're the only one who can actually explain what's going on. I'm not the one seeing Charles, you are. You're the one who's actually talked to him. So you'd better not try to sit in the corner and sulk the whole time! Just try to be nice and explain the problem clearly, OK?"
She gave him a disapproving look, her arms folded across her chest. She looked very much like an angry mother lecturing her child.

Voltaire wasn't going to submit so easily, he was on equal footing and he was try...just stubbornly. "Fine, I'll explain, but if he gets shirty with me I'll have to give as good as I get, I just want Charles in the light or where ever he has to be, not floating in our bedroom or while you're showering" He wasn't sulking, he was brooding, that was sexier he thought.

Isabella stared at him for a moment. She imagined he thought he was being sexy or something, but she honestly thought he was behaving like a petulant child. "Voltaire, I have never known Wesley to get 'shirty' as you say. You, on the other hand, can be downright prickly at times, and with no good reason. You have a very bad habit of making a first impression of someone and then stubbornly refusing to change it. Why, if I had done that with you, we probably wouldn't be standing here right now," she reminded him. Watching his expression as the last bit sank in, she raised her hand to the door and knocked firmly. "Now, be nice!" she hissed.

Now Voltaire did pout. "But I'm charming, He's a stick in the mud." And not to mention a heartless git for making his own daughters believe he was dead "But other than that...I guess he's an OK guy." he put his arms behind his head and said as he put them back down "Come on I'm trying!" and he heaved a great sigh.

"Shhh!" Isabella whispered. This certainly wasn't the appropriate time to make accusations like that. Wesley could answer the door at any moment, and she didn't want him to hear Voltaire bringing up old wounds. "Just be nice!" she said again as the door swung open.

Voltaire grinned as the door swung open. nothing like a mouth full of teeth to make yourself look innocent. He wondered if Wesley heard what he said, but then mentally said "Screw it, he knows I dislike for it. Natalie suffered too much because of that." and waited to see the literal whites of his eyes.

Wesley chose to open the door at just that moment. Hearing the words "Natalie suffered" hurt him more than he could say. His daughter had been through hell, and continued to go through it day after day. Already she had lost so much in her life.
"Voltaire," he said smiling insincerely. "It's good to see you again." His fake smile faded to a more genuine one and he reached forward to take Isabella's hand. "And Isabella. To what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?"

Voltaire smiled like he had half a lemon in his mouth, he hated insincere responses, He tightened his smile and said "Yes, Always a pleasure! I'm afraid however I have some rather grave news..." he said his mouth falling from it's un-comfortable smile to a look that would give most people who knew him a worry. He also didn't like how he was reaching for his wife's hand, really some people didn't have any manners. He looked toward Isa, then past her to down the hall, and down the other side and added "But it's best not to discuss these matters in doorways." He wanted the matter over with, but he wasn't about to blurt things out in open corridors.

Isabella gave him a sharp warning look that clearly said, "Be nice." Shaking Wesley's hand, she smiled warmly at him. "It's good to see you, Wesley. We're here to discuss a little problem we've been having... do you mind if we come inside?"

Wesley gave a tight smile at Voltaire, but it melted into a warmer expression at Isabella's words. "Yes, yes, of course," he said, stepping aside to allow them in. "Please, do come in. I was actually about to make a cup of tea, perhaps you'd like some? I have Earl Grey or chamomile?"

Voltaire made a face, how every inclusive that question was! "I'm sure we' d be delighted." he followed Isabella into the room and waited for her to take seat or to be invited to sit. He wondered briefly if Charles would choose to arrive or would he be left alone in trying to explain Charles's situation.

Wesley motioned to the chairs in front of his desk. "Please, have a seat," he said politely. His office was smaller than some of the other professors' offices, so he didn't have room for a sofa or anything else.
Turning to the tea kettle, he tapped it lightly with his wand, causing it to whistle right away. Taking out three cups, he placed a tea bag in one, then looked over at Isabella and Voltaire. "Any preferences on tea?" he asked.

"None really." Voltaire have a shrug and took a seat. He realized though his office was in a cold dungeon it was really much larger than Wesley's. He felt an annoying smug satisfaction that he squashed down, He had to be NICE to Wesley and he had to TRY to be nice to Wesley. Voltaire looked to Isa and hoped she could provide an open ear for him to try and explain the situation to Wesley.

Isabella smiled politely. "Thanks, Wesley. I'll have chamomile. I think he'd prefer the Earl Grey." She shot Voltaire a look, recognizing the smug expression on his face. She was pleased when he quickly hid it under an impassive mask.
"Wesley, Voltaire's been having a rather... unusual problem, and we were hoping that maybe you could help us out with it." She looked to Voltaire to finish.

Voltaire got a little less comfortable in his chair and said "I'm being Haunted by...an unrequited love interest of Isabella's." he crossed his arms and "I'm sure you've heard at least a few rumors of my first class, He made himself known in class and not another person could see nor hear him, but me..." he thought about mentioning Natalie, but thought against it unless Wesley brought her up. he didn't want to drag her into something that might just go wrong or might require her to do more than blink. He appreciated his time with her too much to put her through something difficult, especially given Charles's language.

Wesley nodded. "Yes, I did hear some rumors. And of course, Natalie told me all about it. She was quite outraged on your behalf." He smiled slightly. "It seems my daughter became quite attached to you during the time she was staying with you."
Thinking of that time, when he had been in hiding and Natalie and Sabrina thought he was dead, made Wesley uncomfortable. He could now see that he had let it go on for too long, and that he should have come out of hiding sooner. If he had, Sabrina might still be alive.
"So... this ghost... Obviously, Natalie could see it, and you say he's haunting you... No one else has seen him? Or even felt his presence?"

Voltaire shook his head grimly. "No one See's him, He seems attached to a perimeter of me" Voltaire made a motion with his finger in a circle. " He could be swearing at me and walk through a wall, only to walk right back, and he seems to have no control of when and where he will start to manifest." Voltaire leaned back in his chair, "He seems to respond to cues, but I don't know what they are, and he's either in a void of life, or around me and harping at me."

Wesley frowned. "That is very unusual, but it's not unheard of. I think I read of a similar case while studying the nature of the afterlife... hold on, let me check one of my books."
He stood up and walked over to his bookcase. He stared at the shelves for a minute before choosing one shelf and running his index finger along the spines. Finally he stopped on one and pulled it out, quickly flipping through the pages.
"Yes... yes, here it is. His life essence, or what is left of it, is bound to you. He's not so much a ghost as a shadow... a remnant of his human form. It can be a kind of curse, a magical spell that bound him to you. Can you tell me how he was killed?"
