Severus was first to get to class. He picked the left side of the room, the side closest to the door and deemed it not only the designated 'Slytherin side' but also the side of the quickest escape route. He supposed he could of easily chosen the Right side of the room, but he wasn't so good at the charms needed to soften a fall from one of these windows. He wasn't one to really pay too much attention or so it seemed to history, but One could always learn from history as long as it wasn't so long and drawn out. He liked to get to the point of things, something that was sometimes evaded in this class.

Lily walked into History of Magic with a spring in her step. Unlike most of her classmates, Lily really liked History of Magic. Maybe it was because, being from a muggle family, she was used to such normal history, and to her, history of magic was like something out of a mythology book. She found it exciting to learn about dragons and giants and trolls and other such things.
She spotted Severus Snape already seated near the door, and she waved to him. "Hello, Severus!" she said with a smile. Turning away, she headed to a desk in the very front of the room and sat down.
"Hello, Professor Graham," she said politely.

Severus flushed and looked around seeing no other Slytherins, They barely tolerated, if that's what you wanted to call tolerance, Natalie. At seeing no one, he waved to Lily and said "Hi" he was a bit of a recluse and a bit shy, but he did admit that he liked having friends.

Lily smiled and waved back. She didn't know why James and the others liked to pick on Severus. To her, he seemed perfectly nice. Natalie liked him, which was more than enough reason for her.
Taking out her quill and a sheet of parchment, she prepared to take notes. She was excited about the class; King Arthur had always been one of her favorite stories.

Gage walked into class and looked around. He had been warned that History of Magic was a bit boring, but he himself loved the class.
He pulled a note out of his pocket and walked up to the teacher. "This is for you Professor. Sorry I missed the first class, but I started the term late." He hoped Professor Graham wouldn't be too upset. "But don't worry, I'm a quick learner."

Evelyn carried her book bag to the first floor and into the History of Magic. This was her least favorite class, as it was very book intensive. She enjoyed reading, and studying, but this class was always so much more. There was hardly anyone here yet so she took a seat and gestured for Gage to sit with her when he was done speaking with the professor.

Gage saw Evelyn get his attention and, after finishing with the professor, he took a seat by the Gryffindor girl.
"Hello," he said kindly.

"Wotcher Gage." She hadn't seen Gage today until this class, she usually saw him a few times a day. And she couldn't figure out what he had been talking to the professor about. "How's it going today?"

"Its going well I guess, and yourself?" He asked.
"I had to talk to Professor Graham because i started the term late," he explained as he pulled out the nessasary materials for class.

"Oh right. We'll, you haven't missed anything really. Mostly just get-to-know-you sort of stuff. But if you'd like you can borrow my notes on the couple of things we did go over." She was rather unorganized today, and didn't have any of her past notes in her bag. But she knew from past experiences that Gage didn't mind walking with her to her common room. He was always nice like that.

"That'd be great, thanks Evelyn," Gage said cheerfully. Gage was always sure to have all his note so he could study and didn't like missing class. How very Ravenclaw of him.
"How have you been?" Gage asked.

Evelyn shrugged. "I've been good, I suppose. Nothing of note really. Mostly studying, I'm sure you can relate." She laughed, nudging him in the side with her elbow. "I was planning on going into Hogsmeade over the weekend. I already broke two of my quills. I sat on my book bag," she admitted sheepishly.

Alice sat quietly behind the younger Gryffindor girl and watched the exchange between them. Her thoughts drifted remembering when she'd had that kind of easy conversation with Frank and then she blushed at her daydreams and quickly snapped back to the other students in the room and sighed. She looked over and saw two of the younger students, Lilly wave at Snape. She liked Lilly but she didn't understand why she was friends with that boy.. he was so quiet and it creeped her out a bit.
Alice finally took out her history book, she enjoyed magic history lessons although it wasn't one of her favorite subjects. She scanned the chapter they were supposed to be covering in class today.. King Arthur... she loved that story! She was such a romantic sap she knew it... but she loved the bits about the king doing what was right even at self sacrifice to keep his morals strong. She tried to study until class started.
