Betraying everything he was thinking about this girl, he gave her a look of what could only be labled adoration, and tilted his head to the side. "If you can find some way to play something of his here... maybe you could play that new song for me?" he suggested, reaching forward and gently taking her book from her hands.

Evelyn's smile was possibly the largest it had ever been. It didn't even falter when she realized it might take a bit of thinking to get her muggle 8-track player to work here at Hogwarts. Possibly one of the professors could give her a charm to substitute electricity. "Okay," she said cheerfully.
"So what sort of music do you listen to then?" If he hadn't heard of Bowie then he probably didn't listen to too many muggle groups. But since she was raised in both the wizarding and muggle worlds, she knew a lot about both.

Rabastan was unsure of how to answer that either, since he didn't listen to much music, and had he not been so entirely self absorbed, he might have started to think that he was actually quite uninteresting.
"Mostly classical, orchestral things," he told her. "That's what I grew up with, anyway." It was always playing background at social events and dinner parties and the like. He shrugged. "There's a wizarding rock band, thought, that I like. The Owl Post?" He asked, looking at her to see if she had heard of it. They weren't as popular as the Beatles were to the muggles, but they were fairly well known.

She didn't know much about classical music, which probably showed her class more than it was intended to. And knowing a little something about the boy she had fancied for so many years, she didn't mention this fact to Rabastan. Besides being way out of his league, she didn't want to look uneducated in his eyes. However, The Owl Post she had heard of. "Oh yes, I have a few of their albums. I like that song 'Bewitching Eyes' I think it's my favorite of theirs." It reminds me of you, she thought with a grin.

Finally, something they could both talk about, he though. He nodded. "Yes, that's a good song. My favourite is Potions Deep," he said, tilting his head. "That was their first album, wasn't it?"
He looked around at the now empty hall. "Are you hungry?" He asked, smirking inwardly. That should make her giddy. Though he swore, if she giggled, he was gone. He wasn't in a giggly mood today.

"I think so. Their first or second anyway. I know it's older." She tried to remember if she had the album that particular song was on. She decided she didn't. She would have to get it. Rayne would probably take the mickey out of her if she knew she was now shopping for music specifically because Rabastan Lestrange liked it.
When he asked her if she were hungry, she couldn't help but grin. "I could eat," she replied, trying to sound cool but most likely failing in her excitement. She tore her eyes away from his beautiful face long enough to notice they were the only ones left in the entrance hall. She was alone with him. Her cheeks flushed.

"Good," Rabastan said with a nod. "Because I'm famished." He got to his feet, extending his hand to help her do the same. "To the Great Hall?"
He didn't care if anyone said anything about him walking in with a Gryffindor. By now his housemates should have been used to him showing up with girls of different houses. At least she wasn't a Hufflepuff, right?
"Or should we skip the Great Hall and sneak into the kitchens?"

She stared for a short while at his outstretched hand. He had gorgeous hands. She almost didn't want to touch it again, afraid her normal hands would make it look dull. But the overwhelming need to feel his skin again took control and she allowed him to help her to her feet. "Umm..." Could she handle going to the kitchens alone with him? Could she handle having everyone stare at her in the Great Hall and whisper about how very average she looked next to him? She would leave the choice to him. That much she could handle. "You decide," she said with a confident grin.

Well, for Merlin's sake, if she was going to give him the option, he was going to take the one that was more likely to get him laid. He didn't mind being blunt about it in his head, but he would of course never say that to her.
He returned that confident grin. "To the kitchens it is," he said, a glint in his eyes that girls fawned over.

She was surprised at how terrified she was at the idea of going to the kitchens with Rabastan Lestrange. It wasn't as if they were to be alone down there, she reminded herself. There were countless numbers of house elves working there. It would possibly be more crowded than the Great Hall. This thought, though probably not a fact, comforted her and she smiled at him. She grabbed her book bag and shoved her novel inside, then slung it over her shoulder. "Shall we?" she asked with a light laugh.

Rabastan felt like he had her figured out like a simple math problem. "Shall we indeed," he said with a charming grin. "Come on," he said, taking her hand. Then, almost smirking to himself, he added, "I know a way into the kitchen that the house elves usually leave alone."
That had to be a thrilling thought to her... alone with Rabastan Lestrange lavishing her with attention? Heck, he was probably making a dream come true.

At the mention of an isolated entrance into the kitchens Evelyn's heart began to race again and her cheeks redden. All of the thoughts that had calmed herself down were shoved out the window. She would now be faced with being alone with him, and forced to not make an idiot out of herself despite her nerves. I can do this, she thought as Rabastan took her hand and led her to the kitchens.
Normally so confident, Rabastan had the ability to transform Evelyn into a giggling idiot on sight. It would take all over her will power to avoid making a fool of herself. "How did you find this entrance?" There was too much interest in her voice, much more than necessary for the Hogwarts kitchens. Perhaps he wouldn't notice. She hadn't run him off yet, and that had to be a good sign.

Her question made him turn and grin at her. "I found it by misbehaving," he said. "There's something to be said for breaking the rules."
Just exactly how he had been misbehaving was another story alltogether, one that he was not likely to share with her.
"Anyway, as long as you treat the house elves nicely, they'll make you a wonderful meal that you're not likely to see in the Great Hall at dinner."

Misbehaving. Of course. Rabastan had many reputations Evelyn insisted on ignoring. Mischievousness was one of them. However, the fact that he had broke the rules was nothing since they were now to have dinner alone. One on one. Time to talk.
Time to make an idiot of herself!
She stumbled over her feet, having gotten lost in her head. She laughed it off and continued walking. "Nice to the house elves? Of course. What sort of reason would I have not to be nice to them?"

Rabastan shrugged as he stopped and let go of her hand. "I don't know. It was just a comment, love," he said, trying to explain that he hadn't meant to accuse or offend her. "They're really very sweet creatures."
Some of them. Some were just annoying, and they were all dirty and below him, but he knew how to treat people to get what he wanted out of them, and that did not stop at humans.
He looked both ways down the hall to make sure no one was around, and then pulled a tapestry aside to reveal a door. He turned the knob and pushed it open. "After you."

She was a little disheartened when their hands broke apart, but they were at a hidden door so she didn't have much time to dwell on it. "Thank you," she said with a cute nod and stepped through the doorway, and walked a little further into the room, allowing him room to enter behind her. She stopped and looked back, wanting to watch him for a moment without having to worry about speaking.

He was closing the door behind them, his attention not on her while he did so. While most everything he did around a girl was on purpose, this was not.
He wondered for just a brief moment what he was doing. Gryffindors were fun, at least (it was the Ravenclaw girls that were prudes), but what would Eveln get out of this? She was another heart to break...
He shook his head, realizing he was slipping a little, and turned back to her. "Go through that little archway," he said, nodding ahead of them as he put a hand on her back.

Her heart fluttered as his hand pressed against the small of her back, and she headed through the archway he directed her to. The light was not as bright here and it made the tension she was feeling that much more intense. It was almost a romantic lighting. As they walked she looked over at him. His gorgeous hair, luscious lips, perfect skin. She almost didn't want to get to the kitchen. She could eat him up, forget the food.

She was quiet all of a sudden. Was he losing her?
"Anything you can imagine, they can make happen," he said. Once they passed under the archway, they came to the kitchen where several house elves were busy, all running around preparing food that made the place smell delicious. "And," he said, "We're not quite to the best part yet." He nodded once more towards a door at the opposite end of the room.

His voice was like velvet. She melted with ever word he spoke. She couldn't even recognize them as individual words. She had no idea what he saw saying, but then they entered the kitchen and her attention was drawn to all of the house elves that were running about. The room smelled delicious. It was a concentrated version of the smells that wafted into the entrance hall from the great hall.
Then Rabastan's melodic voice spoke again and she focused on understanding what he was saying. He gestured to another door. Her brow furrowed. "What's in there?"
