"Try what? The big screens and popcorn and candy?" He asked, then nodded. "Yeah, we could do that. There's a movie theater in Hogsmeade, isn't there?"
He finished his pizza long before she did, he realized, and wondered if he just ate the fast or if he was especially hungry tonight. Reaching forward, he picked up the remote and handed it back to her. "Push the one that looks like an arrow pointing right. I'm getting another piece. Would you like anything?"

"Yeah, I was talking about the movie theater. There is one in Hogsmeade, but I've heard it's some sort of magical movie thing... Like everyone going there can make their own movie or something. It sounds interesting, but I sort of like the idea of watching a movie that already tells a fixed story. Like this one. I want to know what will happen to Ilsa and Rick. Plus, I like the idea of the popcorn and candy." She laughed. "I don't know if the one in Hogsmeade has that."
She watched him as he got up, once again entranced by him. "I don't need anything," she replied. "I'm fine." Taking the remote in her hands, she found the button he was talking about and pressed it, watching as the movie resumed on the small screen.

He watched for her reaction when she hit the button, just to see if she was still fascinated by it. He loved her fascination, and secretely loved that he had an entire world at his disposal to share with her. The options, really, were limitless.
"Make your own movie?" he asked, trying not to interrupt the film they were watching. "How does that even work?" he wondered out loud. "I'll take you to a real, muggle movie theater. But it's pretty much this... just bigger."

Andi shrugged, still watching the screen. "I don't know. I think it's done with magic spells or something. I've never been, so I'm not sure." Finishing the last of her pizza, she looked over at him. You know what? I think I'll have just one more slice, if you don't mind. It's pretty good."
Looking back at the TV, she watched for a few minutes, then turned back to him. "Are the big screen movies in color?"

He took her plate and stood up, going to get her a piece so she could keep watching the movie.
"Yes, they're in color, because they're newer," he said. "Some are still black and white, but they're rare. This one is older. I have movies I can play in color. King Kong is in color."
A moment later, he was back, handing her the plate. "There you go, love."

Andi smiled and accepted the plate from him. "Thank you." She took a bite from the pizza, then looked back at the screen. "That makes sense about the color. I guess as they learned more about what they were doing, they learned how to make it color? I kinda of like that this one isn't in color. It kind of lends it a certain atmosphere, makes it seem darker somehow."
She fell into silence then, watching the movie and eating her pizza. When she finished, she shifted her position so that she was leaning against him again.

He felt mesmerized by her fascination still, and found himself watching her while she was watching the movie. He'd seen it a thousand time before, anyway, so he certainly wasn't missing anything.
And he was committing her to memory, like he had with the kiss, earlier.
"No, no, wait," he said whe she leaned against him. "I need to get more comfortable before you do that." He shifted his body so that his back was pressed against the arm of the sofa, and he was in a half reclined position that would still be comfortable for her. "All right, come back," he said, nodding to her.

Andi smiled and shifted close to him again, leaning her head against his chest and wrapping her arms around him. She curled her legs up on the couch next to her, so that she was half-laying sideways against him.
He was so warm and solid and he smelled incredible. It was making her think naughty thoughts, and it was absolutely impossible to concentrate on the movie. Still, she watched the screen as if fascinated, but her eyes glazed over as a very different movie played in her mind.

Of all the nights he could have ended up like this with her, why did it have to be one when he was so tired?
His breathing evened out as he fought to keep his eyes open, but leaning back had been a bad idea. He supposed the only thing keeping him up now was how aware of her he was. He held his body still, except for the rise abd fall of his chest as he breathed, as if anything could disrupt her, and make her suddenly wake up from whatever spell was keeping her here with him.
Ted was a fairly confident guy, but Andromeda made him nervous in a way he wasn't used to. He wasn't even paying attention when the movie ended and the rest of the credits began to roll.

By the end of the movie, Andi was feeling pretty tired. She was having trouble keeping her eyes open, especially as she allowed her mind to wander on fantasies that she barely even understood. Still, the ending of the movie did fill her eyes with tears. And the credits of the film fascinated her, as she wondered how the muggles got all those words to appear on the screen. She shifted slightly, meaning to look up at him and ask him, but she saw that his eyes were closed.
She smiled softly. Poor Ted. He had just come back from his trip and she'd ended up spending the whole night with him. He must have been exhausted and in need of sleep, yet she'd kept him busy all night.
She should have gotten up just then, to go downstairs to her apartment. But she didn't want to leave him. If he woke up and found her gone, what would he think? And besides, she was quite comfortable where she was. So she closed her eyes and let her mind drift into dreams.

Ted had finally fallen into a deep sleep when she had. It must have been a subconscious thing, knowing she was relaxed, and safe (since he had that inexplicable need to protect eating at him).
He woke up slowly the next morning, taking a minute to regain his bearings and remember where he was. It was the first time in a while he had woken up in his apartment. The television had been turned off at some point in the night. He must have woken up and done that, since he didn't think Andi knew how. His blinds were closed, so the sun wasn't streaking in like it usually did in the mornings.
And then there was Andi. She had stayed the night, he realized, lifting one hand to rub the last of the sleep from his eyes. He didn't want to wake her, but he had a feeling his stomach growling would do the job anyway.
And then blind panic hit him. When she woke up, would she regret staying? Would it be awkward? These were all ridiulous questions, he thought. They hadn't even done anything, and he was worried.
But for now... he could put those thoughts off, and just watch her sleep in the morning light.

Andi slept peacefully in his arms. It was the kind of sleep a child might have, knowing it was warm and safe and protected. Her dreams were less peaceful, but certainly enjoyable, as her mind continued to wander down the same path it had been on when she drifted off to sleep.
As morning crept in, she gradually became aware of slight movements and sounds as Ted began to stir. But she was enjoying having him so close to her that she was unwilling to break the spell and open her eyes, for fear that the whole thing had been a dream. She could feel the rising and falling of his chest as he breathed and it soothed her.
But after a while, she became more aware of things, such as the fact that her legs were still curled under her, and her neck was stiff from laying at such an odd angle. Soon, she had no choice but to move.
With a soft sigh, she opened her eyes and shifted her body, so that she could look up into his beautiful eyes. "Good morning," she said softly.

He was smiling at her when she looked up at him. "Good morning," he replied softly, his voice a little gruff from sleep, still.
He allowed himself to stretch, trying not to upset her too much as he moved, but he had yet to make a move to get up. He liked having her so close by.
"Sorry about falling asleep last night... I would have offered you the bed. Did you sleep okay?"

"It's OK," she said. "I should have left sooner... I had forgotten that you'd only just come home. You must have been exhausted." She moved slightly, trying to smooth out her hair, which she assumed was sticking up all over the place. "I slept fine. You were very comfortable." She grinned. He looked so good this morning, so innocent and vulnerable. Like a little boy, only not so little. It made her heart flutter.
Her cheeks flushed as she looked into his eyes. "I had a really nice time last night."

He laughed at that, finally pulling his body out from under hers to sit up. "Well, I'm glad I at least served as a good pillow." He waved away her first words though. "No. If I had wanted you to leave sooner, I would have said something. I didn't realize how tired I was, though."
He paused and just watched her while she tried to smooth out her hair, which he thought still looked perfect, anyway. Everything about her looked perfect still, and even if her make up was running and her hair was an afro, he'd still think so, so he probably wasn't the best judge on whether or not her hair was sticking up at odd angles.
"Are you hungry?"

Andi stretched and yawned, then pulled herself into a sitting position. Reaching up to rub her neck, she gave him an embarrassed smile. "I'm sorry, I must look like a mess. I've never really been a morning person."
As she looked up at him, she could see he was still a bit fuzzy from sleep. But he still looked breathtaking. Her cheeks flushed red as her mind flashed back to some of the naughty dreams she'd had about him the night before. "Yeah, I think I could eat," she replied. "Can you cook?"

"You look beautiful," Ted said, his expression serious and sincere, though he was surprised the words had slipped out so easily. He didn't regret them. And since he had said them, he might as well embrace them. He reached out and tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear, smiling gently.
"Can I cook?" he repeated her question, almost laughing. "I guess we'll find out, won't we? Can I cook..." he murmured, shaking his head as he got up from the couch. "What do you like?"

Andi's cheeks were warm from the compliment. She hadn't showered, and her hair felt matted down on one side, and the little bit of makeup she had left on the night before was probably leaving ugly dark smudges under her eyes. Yet with his words, he made her feel beautiful. It was an unfamiliar, but pleasant feeling.
Laughing, she moved toward the kitchen. "Well, I don't know. What do you think you can handle? Should I ask for waffles? Or are you better off with scrambled eggs and toast? Or maybe we should just have cold pizza..." In truth, she was not the best cook in the world. She supposed she was passable, in a pinch. She'd at least managed to stop setting the building's smoke detectors off everytime she cooked.

"Well, I don't have a waffle maker, so I think waffles are out," Ted said. "But I can do pancakes. Or eggs and toast."
He glanced around his kitchen. "Oh, no, scratch the eggs. I don't have any." He really should have gone shopping before he invited her back here. He scratched the back of his neck, feeling completely useless right then. "I think that means pancakes are out, too. No bread... " It would have molded in the time he'd been gone. "Cereal, but no milk... oh, this is embarassing."
His cheeks flushed as he realized that the only thing he could really offer her was cold pizza. This was not going well at all.

Andi saw his discomfort and thought it was absolutely the most adorable thing she had ever seen. Smiling, she moved over to him and put her arms around him. "Don't worry about it," she said softly. She leaned up and kissed him on the cheek.
"Tell you what," she began. "If you want, we could go down to my apartment and take advantage of my fully-stocked refrigerator. Or, if you don't want to brave my cooking--and I'd hardly blame you for that--we could get dressed and go into town to Madam Puddifoot's for some coffee and pastries."
