Character Name: Theodore “Ted” Tonks
Age: 21
Description: Ted is tall and muscular and has an athletic build. He stands at an even 6 feet. His hair is light sandy brown, and he has piercing blue eyes.
Profession: Auror
Strengths: He is skilled in Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts, and shows proficiency in Transfiguration. He has great people skills and can usually talk himself, or anyone else, out of a bad situation. He has determination to rival none, and rarely ever takes no for an answer.
Weaknesses: Because he often tries to talk his way out of things, and is what his mother calls a gentle spirit, he is not wonderful at dueling, though he tries to improve. Andromeda Black is his admitted greatest weakness. He can be trusting to the point of foolishness, and has a hard time being serious sometimes. He is also terrible at Potions.
Personality: Ted is intelligent, charming, and funny. He will stand up for what is right no matter who tries to beat him down. He is likeable and makes friends easily. He is fiercely loyal and protective of those he loves. He is a huge fan of muggle football (soccer) though he doesn’t bother admitting this to most wizards, as he finds the explanation of the game too complicated. He does everything to the extreme; he loves hard, with little reservation (which lead to many a broken heart), and certainly wears his heart of his sleeve. He fights until he can’t anymore, but doesn’t have a hard time admitting when he is wrong. His blatant disregard for potential danger makes him a bit of a thrill seeker.
History: Ted was born an only child to Edward and Karen Tonks in a small town south of London. His mother was an artist of sorts, and an exquisite dancer- a skill she passed on to her son. His father was an electrician, though is now retired. Until he turned 11, Ted lived the life of an average boy, playing football in the schoolyard with his friends. There was nothing terribly extraordinary about his life, but to him and his parents, it was perfect.
He was well liked in Hogwarts, and made friends with everyone he could, though generally stayed away from the Slytherin house. He tried out for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team, and played Keeper for most of his time on the team (thanks to his goalie training in football). He was intelligent and got good marks, but was a bit of the class clown. He wound up in detention often, but never for something serious. Once graduated, he knew he wanted to be an Auror. He always liked to fight the good fight, and being an Auror seemed like the most logical step.
RP Sample: Ted was carrying a box of things to make his desk look a little more friendly, following behind another Auror that was just coming in. He was skillfully dodging other people in the busy hall they were in, wondering if it was always this insane and he’d never noticed, or if it was just because it was Monday again.
Of all the duties his job required, the part that demanded he be at a desk was his least favorite, but he was happy to do whatever was needed.
As they came to the right area a few minutes later, he noticed a group of fellows Aurors to the side. Most he recognized, but his eyes fell on one brunette in particular, whom he had decided months ago should smile more.
“Out of your league. Come on.”
He tore his eyes from her as he and the other man continued into the office.
