Emmeline flipped over on her side causing her bed to bang against the wall and her roommate telling her to "stop whatever the hell your doing." Emmeline sighed. She couldn't sleep and she was freezing. Ravenclaw tower had absolutely no heat. It probably didn't help that she was wearing shorts and a tank top. She slipped on some mismatched socks, threw on a hoodie, and tip toed out of the girls dormitory. She slipped out of the common room and slowly walked the hallways.
She really had no idea where she was going, so she just kept walking. She finally came to a stop in front of a painting with a pear on it. Something giggled. She whipped around, looking to see if someone was behind her. No one. She turned back and stared at the painting. She had heard something somewhere about a pear painting that led to the kitchens. Something giggled again. Every hair on her body stood on end and she turned to go back to her common room. But the painting slowly swung open and she dived behind it, pressing herself against the wall. She held in her laughter as two professors in ridiculous looking night wear walked out with their arms loaded with food and drink.
She gave a quiet sigh of relief when they were gone. But to her dismay, the painting shut itself before she could grab it and go in. She stomped her foot. She had rotten luck.

No one was getting much sleep tonight in the Gryffindor boys' dormitory. James, Sirius, Remus and Peter were all up late, talking and playing games. But these things are always more fun with food, so Sirius volunteered to head down to the kitchens to get some late-night snacks.
Under the cover of the invisibility cloak, Sirius walked quietly down the halls and toward the kitchens. As he walked, he was ever on the lookout for trouble. He passed a cat prowling the halls, looking for mice, and two professors carrying and armload of food. Interesting, he thought.
But as he approached the painting of the pear, he saw that there was a solitary figure standing there, looking at the painting. It was a girl.
Sirius hesitated for a minute, watching her and trying to figure out who she was. Then he moved a little closer, still under the cloak, until he could get a good look at her. He recognized her as Emme, the girl he had talked to in potions class the other day. A smile spread across his face and he quickly took off the invisibility cloak.
"You look lost," he said casually. "Need some help?"

Emmelinehuffed and put her hands on her hips. She picked up her foot, balancing on one, and scratched her leg. She heard the giggle again. She whipped around, but didn't see anything. It's probably just Peeves playing a joke. The thought only made her more scared.
"You look lost. Need some help?"
Emmeline screamed. Very loudly. And she saw the shadow of Ms. Norris on the wall opposite them. She grabbed the person's arm and pushed them toward the painting. "Get us in there." she said in a hurried whisper. She was tapping her foot impatiently and looking around. Ms. Norris was getting closer. "Hurry."

Sirius laughed as she screamed, then grabbed him in a panic. "Sure, I can get us in," he said. He reached up and tickled the pear with on hand, and the painting swung open. They stepped into the kitchen, which was filled with house elves that were hard at work.
Looking down at the girl, he broke into a grin. "OK, you're safe now. Sorry if I scared you."

Emmeline bent over and grabbed her knees. She took a deep breath and looked at the person that scared her and saved her. She gaped. It was Sirius Black, the guy she met in Potions Class. She blushed a little. Emmeline realized she was only in short shorts and a hoodie. But she ignored this and tried to yell at him for scaring her, but instead she smiled.
"Thanks for saving me, but exactly how did you get in here? And were you the one who was giggling behind me?" She felt like she was interrogating him. She mine as well have a flashlight in his face. When she thought about him being the one giggling behind her, she almost wanted to laugh herself. He didn't look like the person who would giggle.

Sirius let out a loud laugh, which sounded much like a barking dog. "Me? No, I wasn't giggling." He pointed back at the wall. "It was the pear in the painting. See, it's ticklish. You have to tickle the pear to open the door into the kitchens. That's all."
He tucked the invisibility cloak into the pocket of his robes, then looked her up and down with a grin. "Nice outfit," he said with a wink. "You always walk around in the middle of the night dressed like that?"

Emmeline blushed a little. So she freaked out over a pear. That was embarrassing. "You tickle the pear? Who the hell thought of that?" She crinkled her nose and started to bite her nail. She was just a little cold and little uncomfortable with all the house elves walking around and acting like they didn't notice them.
She blushed even more furiously when he looked her over and asked about her outfit. "Well, I was trying to sleep and I couldn't, so I just came down in my pajamas........."She mumbled, still blushing. "What was that you put in your pocket?" she tried to change the subject quickly.

Sirius shrugged. "Yeah, I don't know where they get this stuff from. I found out from my cousin Andromeda. She's the only member of my family that's actually cool, and when I first started here, she made sure to tell me a few of the tricks she learned as a student. Anyway, I come down here a lot, actually. Me and James and everyone. Today they just sent me down alone."
He didn't want to add that he was glad he was alone. James probably wouldn't have wanted to stop and talk to some girl, and Remus... well, if Remus knew that he was flirting with yet another girl other than Kris, he would not be pleased.
"Sorry. Didn't mean to pick on you or anything... I just couldn't help but comment. You look cold, that's all." Well, that and the shortness of her shorts was a bit... distracting. Was it normal to have these kinds of thoughts at his age?
"What was that you put in your pocket?" She'd asked. He should have known that putting it away would call attention to it. He should have done it before he came up behind her. He wasn't sure that it was a great idea to tell her about it... "Oh, nothing. Just a little... camoflage..."

Emmeline nodded and smiled when he mentioned his friends. He seemed happy to talk about them or maybe she was imagining it all. She wouldn't mention that she was glad that he came down alone. He'd probably just get tense and leave.
She blushed again under his gaze. It wasn't a bad blush. She smiled shyly and nodded. "Yeah. It's pretty chilly in here." When he dodged her question about the thing in his pocket, she was a little suspicious, but she otherwise dropped it. I wonder if he is still dating Kris or Amy.......... She blushed at her thoughts. She shouldn't be thinking them. But it wasn't her fault, he was looking particularly good tonight.
"Are you still with Kris or Amy?" She blurted out, so that they all came out in a sort of slur. She squeezed her eyes shut and whirled around towards the house elves. When he wasn't looking, she made faces at her stupidity and twisted back around. "You know, just curious." She added and smiled innocently. Oh please by this...

Sirius was about to offer her his robe, since he was wearing pajamas underneath his robe, so she wouldn't be quite so cold. But when she asked about Kris and Amy, he froze. Did everyone know about his connection with Amy? What did they know? And how? Did Remus know?
"I'm not going out with Amy," he said very quickly. "We're just good friends. Actually, more like average friends... really we barely know each other...." Who was he trying to convince here, anyway? He was sure that his response gave everything away. "I'm still with Kris," he said more assertively.

Emmeline snorted and raised an eyebrow. "Right.....sorry I asked...." she mumbled. She looked around, wanting to drop the subject, and watched the house elves work. They were completely oblivious to the two students that were standing there. She gave a shuddered. It was freezing in here. She wanted to tell the house elves to bump down the air or quit opening freezers.
"Do they have any hot chocolate, blankets, or something along the lines of warmth?" She asked Sirius, noticing that the cold wasn't particularly bothering him. She huffed and thought about doing laps when a house elf popped beside her a shoved a glass of hot chocolate in her hands without a word. She drained it immediately. It warmed her little, but she was still freezing. "Did you want something?"

Sirius was relieved for the change of subject. His love life was complicated enough as it was, but he didn't want to burden her with that. He laughed as she gulped down a steaming mug of hot chocolate. She was an interesting girl, that was for sure. "Yeah, I actually have a bunch of things the guys wanted me to bring back... I have a list." He handed the list to the nearest house elf, who immediately began working to gather the things up.
He looked back at Emmeline. "Do you want to wear my robe for a while? When we're done here, I can walk you back to Ravenclaw tower and you could give me back my robe then."

{{OOC::Sorry it took so long for me to reply.}} Emmeline almost laughed when he visibly relaxed at the change in subject. When he whipped out the list of things needed for his friends, she laughed out loud. It was a good two and a half feet of parchment.
"Would you really let me wear it? I would appreciate it so much." She practically skipped over to him and waited for him to hand it over. "Are you going to need help with that stuff? I could help you carry it back." She offered. She figured since, he did save her twice tonight, it was the least she could do.
