After his shower, Leo got dressed in a casual pair of jeans and a weathered flannel shirt. He didn't want to look like he was trying to hard to impress her, but on the other hand, he still wanted to look good. He'd never felt like this before about anyone, and he didn't want to mess things up before they even got started.
He spent about ten minutes fighting with his hair, trying to get it to look just right. Again, he wanted it to look good, but as if he hadn't spent any time working on it at all. Once it was sticking up in just the right way, he hurried down the hall to the stairs. But when he got to the stairs, where she might possibly see him, he slowed down. Hopefully, she wouldn't think he was too anxious.
When he was downstairs in the common room, he looked around. There weren't a lot of kids around at that time, just a few sitting in the corner, studying. But there was no sign of Rori.
Smiling to himself, he walked over to the fireplace and sat in the small sofa to wait for her.

Once Rori finished in the shower, she thought about putting on her pajamas and going down, but decided against it. She wanted to look decent enough, but not to were she was trying to make it appear as if she were trying to impress anyone. Settling on a pair of jeans and a light blue long sleeve shirt, she quickly dressed.
Rori looked in the mirror and frowned her hair was still pretty wet and she usually let it dry on its own, but she wasn't going to do that tonight. She decided to try the drying spell Leo taught her early, and to her luck, it worked on her hair. It was slightly curly, and that's the way she was going to leave it.
Taking her time going down the stairs to the common room, she tried to think of a few things that they could talk about, but as she reached the bottom of the stairs, her mind went blank. She would just have to wing it. Rori glanced around and her eyes quickly found Leo. Smiling, she walked over and took the seat next to him. "Hi," Rori said.

Leo took one look at her, and any conversation ideas just flew from his mind. He felt tongue-tied, which wasn't something that happened to him very often. "Hey," he said with a lopsided grin. "You look nice. Um, how was your shower?"
How was your shower? What kind of stupid question was that, anyway? Was he an idiot? He couldn't believe he had just said that. So much for being smooth.

Rori blushed lightly. "Thanks, and it was nice and warm," she replied with a laugh. She tucked one leg under her and sat so that she was facing him. "I take it that yours was the same since you're not an ice cube and you look comfortable." What kind of response was that? It just sort of came out without her thinking, and she was going to have to watch that.
"So Mr. Agathon, do you always meet girls at night," she asked teasingly and with a grin.

Her response to his moronic question was adorable. He wondered if she knew just how cute she really was. If she did, it didn't appear to have gone to her head. So many pretty girls he knew were stuck-up snobs. But she was not. She was like a breath of fresh air.
"No, I promise, you're the first," he said with a grin. "Unless of course you count the girl from last night and the three last week." He grinned at her. "Nah, I'm just kidding. I don't meet with girls, even in the daytime."

Rori gave him a fake shocked look. "So that makes me the fifth? I'm shocked." She started to laugh. "I don't for this to sound mean, or anything like that, but I thought you would have girls following you everywhere." To Rori, Leo looked like the type that would have girls wanting to go out with him all the time. She was glad that he didn't date every girl he saw, plus his personality was great. She found someone that liked to joke around and that was perfect.

Leo grinned. "Well, the truth is... I'm painfully shy!" He held a finger to his lips. "Shhhh... don't tell anyone, OK?" Laughing, he shook his head. "OK, the truth is, yeah... I know there are a couple of girls who like me, but they're not my type, you know? Girls who giggle and act stupid just to get a guy's attention... that doesn't interest me. I like girls who are smart and who know who they are and aren't afraid to speak their minds. Girls who like to joke around and have pretty light brown hair and warm brown eyes and a smile that could light up a room."
He cleared his throat and looked down at the floor for a minute, then back up at her. "In case you couldn't tell, I was talking about you."

Rori wriggled her nose. Girls that giggle just to get a guy's attention got on her nerves. Sure, she had been known to giggle, but it wasn't because she was trying to get attention, there was usually something behind it like being tickled or something along those lines.
"Girls that act stupid get on..." Rori trailed off. "Whoa, wait, what," she said quickly and rhetorically. She turned three different shades of red. Rori didn't know what to say. Looking down at the floor, a smile spread across her lips. She looked back up, still smiling. She tugged on one of her sleeves. "I guess since we're describing people, it's my turn? I like guys who have brown hair and wear it messy. I think the messy look is better. They also have blue eyes that seem inviting and not cold. Finally, they're pretty smart but don't bury themselves in books all the time, and their smile makes me smile."

Leo felt his cheeks growing warm. It was an unusual feeling, to be flustered by what a girl said to him. But Rori could get to him like no other girl ever had. And in just a short afternoon. "Thanks," he said, grinning like an idiot. He leaned very close to her and touched her hair with his hand. It felt like silk. "Rori, do you mind... is it OK if I kissed you now?"

Rori's eyes widened a little. It wasn't in fear, but in surprise. No one had asked if they could kiss her. Her ears grew hot and she was pretty sure that her whole head had to be red. "Er, I," she stuttered. She was trying to say yes, but the word wouldn't come out, as simple as it was. So that she wouldn't embarrass herself more not being about to say yes, Rori stopped trying to say it, and gave a small smile, then nodded her head.

Leo moved his hand from her hair and laid it against her cheek. He had no idea that anyone's skin, other than a baby's, could be that soft and smooth. Smiling almost shyly, he leaned in and kissed her.
It was a gentle, sweet kiss, and relatively chaste. But it felt like some kind of enchanted kiss out of a muggle fairy tale. Although his eyes were closed, he was sure that if he opened them he would see a little magic sparkle in the spot where their lips touched. Well, he decided, if they were under some kind of magic fairy tale spell, he never wanted it to end.

Rori knew that if she was standing up when this happened, she would have definitely ended up on the floor. As he leaned in, she met him halfway. She could have sworn that a whole bundle of butterflies had been let out in her stomach.
After what seemed forever, Rori pulled away slightly and opened her eyes slowly, smiling shyly. "That, was nice," she said barely audibly.

Leo couldn't breathe for a minute after the kiss. He just looked into her eyes, his face frozen in a shy half-smile. "Wow," was all he could say.
Was it possible to fall in love in just an afternoon? Was he too young to be in love at all? He didn't know the answers to those questions, but he didn't even really care. All he knew was that, for the first time ever, his emotions were swirling around like a hurricane and his heart was pounding like a bass drum. In that moment, he couldn't imagine anything he wanted to do more than spend time with her, and kiss her again.
"Nice?" he said teasingly, raising an eyebrow at her. "I guess I'll have to do better next time, if that was only nice."

Rori laughed. "Yes, only nice. Sorry to disappoint you," she said jokingly. "I'm just kidding. It was more than nice. Nice was the only word that came to mind." Rori decided to stop right there before she babbled on and on and embarrassed herself about it.
She knew that she didn't mind spending time with him. Leo didn't seem full of himself or thought he was better than anyone else.

Leo pretended to look sad. "Well, I just think I'm going to have to practice a little more, so the next one won't be anything close to nice," he said. "Now, I wonder... who should I practice on?" Putting a finger on his forehead, he acted as if he was thinking. "Let's see... there's the redhead from Hufflepuff--Robin, I think. She's cute. Or what about Andrea? Sure, she's a Slytherin, and her mouth is turned down in a permanent frown, but she could be cute if she smiled. Or how about...." He broke into a grin and leaned closer to her. "You?"
Once again, he pressed his lips to hers and kissed her, a little more deeply this time.

Rori acted as if she was shocked as he was going through other girls' names. She even folded her arms, but of course her act failed as he grinned. A quiet 'ha' sound escaped from her just as he kissed her.
She put a hand to his cheek as she closed her eyes. His lips where soft against hers and kissing him made everything else float away while her focus was there. She didn't care if there were other people in there. Usually she would be slightly embarrassed about it, but he seemed to give her the extra boost of courage.
Rori slowly pulled away, and opened her eyes. A smile set itself across her face. She tried to speak, but nothing would come out.

Leo kept his eyes closed for a long moment after Rori pulled away. It had been the perfect kiss and he wanted to remember it forever. Slowly, he opened his eyes again and looked at her, a sleepy smile spreading across his face. "Now that," he began, "was quite a bit better than 'fine', don't you think?"
In truth it was hard to breathe. Just looking at her, that pretty smile on her face, it knocked the wind out of him.

Rori looked at Leo like she was in thought for a moment. He had caused butterflies to start swarming in her stomach and that was the best kiss she ever recieved, even though it was her only her second one.
She put a finger to he her chin. "Hm. I don't know," she began a little unsurely. Her cover was blown because she started to smile again. "I would have to say much better than fine actually."

Leo smiled. "Oh, you think so?" he teased. "I bet I could do better if I just kept practicing. Maybe we should keep working at it, don't you think?" It was amazing how effortless it was to talk to Rori, let alone kiss her. It felt as if they'd known each other for ages, and yet, it had only been one day. Was that even possible? Maybe they were in some kind of time loop, reliving the same day over and over. Leo thought that if he had to relive any day, this one would be a good choice.
Leaning back in his seat, he looked at her through half-opened eyes. "But I think maybe we'd better cool it for a while... the prefect over there looks like she's ready to break us up or something." He signalled to the older student, who was watching them with wary eyes. He really wanted to ignore it and just go on kissing Rori all night... but he didn't want to get her in trouble, either.
"So, what do you think about the House Triwizard Tournament?" he asked, awkwardly changing the subject. "Any idea who the Ravenclaw champion will be?"

How many days had she known Leo? It seemed like forever, but it started just today. Although, she didn't mind it. It was better to have started today, than never at all. Maybe now Hogwarts would be better than what it had been since they started back.
Rori let out a laugh as she covered her mouth with her hand to muffle the sound as the prefect stared at them. She fought the urge to wave at her, in fear that she might start yelling at them or something.
"I think the tournament itself will be interesting considering what I've learned of the tournaments. Each task of course is dangerous. If I was old enough I would have dropped my name in the Goblet." Rori gave a slight shrug. "I'm not sure about the Ravenclaw champion. I know that Regina and Hallie put their names in, but other than that I don't know who else dropped their names in. If I had to pick between the two, I would pick Regina. No offense to Hallie however. What about you? Did you ever put your name in the Goblet?
