Isabella was so busy watching him eat with such enthusiasm that she barely even took a bite of her own sandwich. She hid a smile as he devoured the meat pie, and had to fight off the instinct to clap her hands and say, 'My, isn't someone a hungry boy!' as she did with Conor after he finished feeding.
"My thinking is," she said, still distracted, "we should probably give them the exact opposite of what they ask for. If they want to be left alone, we should get in their faces. If they seem too needy, though, we need to teach them to stand on their own two feet."

Voltaire nodded "That could work... but if they ask for nothing? need nothing? want for nothing? I think we have to be annoying anyway... Shall we be annoying anyway?" he asked batting his eye lashes.

Isabella grinned at him. "Well, OK, but I think I'll leave the 'annoying' bit to you. I think you might be better at it than I am." Then she laughed and kissed him full on the mouth, the taste of meat pie still clinging to his lips.
"I do think we'll need to give them a little space, just enough to breathe. But you're probably right, we shouldn't be afraid to be nosy and annoying once in a while. They need to know that we're here for them whenever they need us."

Voltaire laughed "Yes, we'll be there if they need us. " But I have another pressing question... I don't have to talk to them about...boys right?" he shuddered at the thought. The thought was vaguely revolting to him, but it was different when he was a young sprout... wasn't it?

*I still can't believe you let me get away with the "annoying" line*
Isabella laughed. "No, I think most of the time, I'll probably handle the boy talk. Although, there are some times when your input will be useful. After all, you once were a teenage boy, and I should think you might be able to help shed some light on what boys are like. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll do fine."
She took a few bites of her sandwich, allowing the conversation to lapse slightly. "Oh, I received an owl from Emily. Now that Vincent has been elected Minister of Magic, they've decided to set a date for the wedding."

*I did think of a retort, but thought Voltaire would take it as your grudging affection for me and my stupidness at times*
"Finally, I've been telling him it was time to propose, or at least be just as blissful as I am." he smiled and decided to eat a bit of the mac and cheese. He also decided he'd leave half of it for Isa."I hope you don't decide to go and diet. I like you the way you are." he batted his eye lashes at her and held out a forkful of mac and cheese to her.

*LMAO, well that was actually the way it was intended...*
Isabella smiled as she helped herself to some of the macaroni and cheese. "She also hinted that she had some more good news, but she'd tell me about it when she saw me. I'm going over to her house this weekend to help her with the wedding plans, so I hope you don't mind spending the day with Conor."
At the mention of her weight, Isabella frowned. In truth, she was a bit larger than she would have liked. But she wasn't yet feeling inclined to start on a post-baby diet and fitness program. She actually felt free for once in her life, not so strict and disciplined. "Well, I don't know about that. I would like to lose a few pounds. But I'm not ready to start doing it yet."

Voltaire smiled and wickedly said "No don't! I like you this way!" and leaned toward her and smiled widely. "And as for good news! I think it's good enough that they are going to marry. Unless he's also come into so much money that he feels the need to improve wizarding communitcations... or something? I've no real idea of what else could be better news." he shrugged and reached for Isabella's hand.

Charles popped into the room at that moment. He wasn't expecting it, as he hadn't really been anywhere until that exact moment. But suddenly, there he was, in the middle of an office, right in front of Voltaire and Isabella. He took one look at the goo-goo eyes they were making at each other and groaned loudly. "Oh, please! Spare me the lovey-dovey nonsense, will you? Honestly, why do I have to see this? Does some immortal diety just like torturing me?"

the flavor of Isabella and the food turned sour in Voltaire's mouth. He glared at the offending ghost and said "How dare you show up now?" and his face was sour and mean. "Couldn't you of ...Gone into the light already?!" how frustrating! really what was he going to do with him?
*could we make this silly misuderstanding Time?I*

"Oh, like you think I have a choice in the matter?" Charles snapped. "I don't want to be here. And If I'd seen any ruddy lights, I promise, I'd have gone into them. I went into that situation, knowing what it would mean, and I willingly gave my life, just so you and your wife and kid could be happy. So why the bloody hell am I still here?"

Isabella stared at Voltaire, puzzled. "Voltaire? Darling, what in Merlin's name are you talking about? Go into what light? Are you feeling OK? Maybe the meat pie wasn't cooked properly...." she reached over and tried to put her hand on his forehead.

Voltaire was puzzled "Isa? you can't see him? It's Charles the annoying, back from the grave to torment us! He's right there!" he said waves his hands into Charles's chest then sheepishly saying "ugh, sorry. that was rude of me." and turned back to Isa and pointe "No? you don't see him?" he paused and a look of shock entered his face"Oh gods, I'm the only one that can see you..." he thought out loud as he looked back and the white blond man floatng in front of his wife. Life wasn't fair...not at all.

Isabella straightened up. "What?" she gasped. "Charles? He's here?" She began to look around the room, trying to see where he might be. "I don't understand. Charles sacrificed himself willingly, he shouldn't have lingered as a ghost." She focused on a spot where she thought Charles was. "Do you want something, Charles? Some unfinished business you need to resolve first?"

Voltaire looked at Charles and then to Isa "I don't think so, He's angry and probably because he can't get pissed anymore" Voltaire couldn't help but put in a jibe " You just confirmed that no one but me...and Natalie can see him." Voltaire explained how his class had gone "I was confused at first, why hadn't anyone else noticed the swearing ghost, but Natalie got him to at least be quite." he said not mentioning the fact that Charles had pushed him to the limit of his patience and how he wanted nothing more but to beat him to within an inch of his unlife.

Isabella continued to stare at the empty space where she believed Charles to be standing. "He disrupted your class?" she said, still shocked. "Charles, if you can hear me, what do you want? Why are you still here? Can we help you to move on?"
Looking back at Voltaire, she shook her head. "It's very unsual behavior for a ghost... to only be seen by one person. Natalie seeing him makes sense, but why you? Is he haunting you for some reason? We really should try to figure this out... maybe the Divination professor could help..."

"Probably Jealous!" he said gripping his next pie and taking a bite out of it. " I have no idea he wants, he just complains about how he has to haunt me, Me me me! I think He would of preferred to haunt you..." just then a thought struck him "You stay out of our bathroom! I don't want you peeking at what isn't yours!" he said meanly to Charles.

Charles groaned. "Oh, please! I may have been a drunkard and a womanizer, and even basically a bastard, but I'm not a pervert!" He began doing backflips in midair again, rotating an even perfect circle all the way around their little picnic area. When he stopped, he looked over at Isa, a sad, longing expression on his face. "Besides, I'd never do that to her, you know... I have too much respect for her."
Glaring at Voltaire, he said, "Can you tell her I'm fine? I don't need anything and I don't really want to be here. I just want to go to my eternal rest, whatever that might be."

Voltaire nodded seriously and turned to Isabella and said "I don't know why you want me to say that, but...Isa" he said turning to his wife and taking hold of her hands.
"He said that he was desperatly in love with Vincent Corrigan and can't rest without knowing he even knew his name." he said it so seriously, his face was earnst but he was just waiting for Isa's reaction, or Charles's to start laughing.

(HAHAHAHAHA!!!)
Charles rolled his eyes. "Oh, very funny. I suppose you think you're just bleedin' hilarious, don't you? You know, if you'd been that funny in class today, I'm sure half your students wouldn't be thinking about murdering you about now." He moved closer to Voltaire, waving his ghostly hands through Voltaire's face. "Really, now, this is serious. I'm stuck here and I don't bloody know why. I don't want to be here anymore than you want me to be here. So start figuring out a way to get rid of me, and we'll both be happy!"
