Norah swallowed. She had not thought it was such a complicated process. It would be all too easy for the vampire to kill a victim, rather than to turn a person. It was a wonder there were any vampires at all, if they had to do something so complicated to turn them. "Oh...." she said. "Well, if you don't want to do it, I could just go...."

Amanda laughed at the stuttering woman. Delila's tale had frightened her and now she was retreating. It was delicious. "No, no, no. I don't think you shall be going anywhere tonight.
Her grip tightened again around the woman's throat. "I bet a pretty thing like you would taste lovely." A smirk appeared on her face and her eyes narrowed.

Norah felt her pulse quickening in her throat, as if it had sensed it was about to stop beating altogether. She felt the salty sting of tears in her eyes as she blinked up at the vampire. "Look, my life isn't worth much, anyway," she said, trying to sound brave despite the quiver in her voice. "Everyone in my life has betrayed me or stolen what was rightfully mine. I have nothing left now, anyway. Nothing but anger and hate and the need for revenge. I could be a valuable asset to you if you turned me..."

"Do you really want to go through so much pain just for revenge?" Delila asked the stupid human. She hated that she could never age and could only be older in her mind.

Norah gulped. "I... I don't mind the pain so much," she lied. "I mean... yes, I know it will be painful, of course. But what is a moment of pain to an eternity of life as a creature of the night? Please... Look, I know that coming here was a mistake... but I'm here and you're here, and I know you're going to bite me anyway.... so please.... turn me. I'll do whatever you want, if you'll just give me this one thing..." Norah was breathing very heavily now, as she knew she was pleading for her continued existence. It would not be life as she knew it, but maybe it would be better...

Amanda had had enough of this back and forth. The human's whining was becoming tiresome and not at all the fun game of cat and mouse she usually encountered. She would have left the stupid thing there to live her miserable existence if she had not repeatedly agreed to do as Amanda wanted in exchange for a new Unlife.
Her movements were quick as she angled herself for the feast. She would drink, and gain a new little lackey, even for a short while. Turning a human was so much more satisfying than simply killing them, though it required a deal more strength on the vampire's part. That was, perhaps, why there were not more vampires. Quenching the thirst was easier than just taking a sip, and forcing yourself to pull away while there was so much delicious blood still flowing in a pathetic mortals veins...
Sinking her sharp teeth into the woman's collar, she began to drain her. It took everything in her to leave the human more alive than the others, but she managed. She chuckled as she pulled away, the woman's skill so white it was nearly clear. She punctured her own wrist then and raised it to the human's lips.
"Drink now darling, and begin your new life with us."

Norah felt the life draining from her body and she wobbled unsteadily on her feet. Her head was swimming and she couldn't think a coherent thought. Driven purely by instinct, she began to suck on the vampire's wrist, feeling the warm, sticky liquid against her frozen lips and tongue. It was sweet and energizing. She suckled eagerly, enjoying the taste more with each second. She didn't know when she was supposed to stop, but she knew she never wanted to. This was what she was born to do. It was her destiny...

Her newest little toy was eager for the taste of blood, but as she continued to drink from her wrist, Amanda was growing pale and weak. "Enough," she demanded and wrenched her arm from the woman's grasp.
Laughing, Amanda looked over her creation. She had a thirsty look in her eye, the one Delila continued to have no matter how many mortals she drank. Amanda wondered if her new plaything would be the same.
And what would Brian think? Would he like this one more than he liked Delila? Did she care? She decided she didn't.

Norah lifted her head up, blood still dripping from her lips. Licking the blood away, she smiled ghoulishly. "That was... wonderful..." she sighed, and threw her head back in ecstasy. Even though she was now technically dead, she somehow had never felt more alive... more powerful.
"Thank you," she said. "Now, to keep my half of the bargain, what can I do for you?" Her own missions would have to wait. But now, she had plenty of time to waste...

Amanda laughed at her eagerness. "Go, play. I'll find you when I need you."
Amanda turned and began to walk away, commanding Delila to follow.

Norah smiled. She was already anxious to make her first kill, so she didn't mind the idea of her going out on her own for a bit. "OK, I'll meet with you later," she said. "Where is your hideout? Or should we just meet somewhere? Just tell me where and I will be there... after I have a bit of fun, that is."

"Highgate Cemetery," Amanda called over her shoulder, smiling at the eagerness of her new young. "In Hogsmeade." That was enough for the woman to find her. With the powers the woman was gaining, she would be able to find the other vampires quickly enough. And if the situation arose that Amanda needed her before then, she could easily track her down.
