Cassidy decided to stop by Tyler's house and give him the bad news about the third Death Eater. To help soften the blow a little, she had baked an apple pie for him, hoping that maybe she could cheer him up a little bit. She was strangely breathless as she knocked on the door and waited for him to answer.

Tyler walked towards his front door, surprised to have a visitor so soon again. It had only been a day or so since he had last seen her, but he found himself hoping that it would be Cassidy at the door. He opened the door and smiled once he found his wish to be true. "Hey! How's it going?" He greeted her, stepping aside to let her in.

Cassidy smiled at him. "Hi," she said, feeling a little less shy. "I felt like baking, so I made you an apple pie. I hope you like apple pie?" She held it out to him. It was still warm, and a small amount of steam was rising from the top. "How are you doing?"

"Oh, wow. Thanks." Tyler replied. He took the pie and briefly looked it over, suddenly developing quite a large appetite. "Yeah, I love apple pie. I was actually trying my luck at cooking earlier. You know, the muggle way and all. Unfortunately, I didn't actually get very far past regular cereal and toast. I've never been much of a cook anyhow- using the muggle way or with magic. So, yeah, this is great." He said, chuckling slightly. "Other than that, things have been fine. How about you?"

"Well, I actually baked this one without magic," Cassidy said. "It's actually one thing I'm really good at... baking. I used to do it with my grandmother before she died. She always said that ones made without magic were more... natural somehow." She walked in and looked around. "Well, I had some kind of bad news for you, about your case. I thought maybe I should come over and keep you updated."

"Oh...um, OK, sure." Tyler replied with a nod, holding back his disappointment. He was just beginning to think that everything was turning out quite well. "Just, uh...come on in then. We can go sit down in the living room or something." He suggested, looking around to make sure the place wasn't a complete mess at the moment. "Let me go set this in the kitchen real quick. You can just make yourself at home." He added, motioning towards the pie and heading down the hallway and into the kitchen.

Cassidy sat down on the couch, quickly conjuring a mirror to make sure her hair looked OK. She told herself it didn't matter, it shouldn't matter, because she was here on business. But for some reason, it did matter. Luckily, her hair looked fine, and she vanished the mirror again with a wave of her wand. Smiling nervously, she waited for Tyler to come back.

Tyler gently set the pie down on the kitchen counter and returned back down the hall towards the living room. He gave Cassidy a small smile as he walked over to the couch and sat down next to her. He made sure that he left a good bit of space between them. He didn't want things to get too awkward again. "So...what's the news?" He asked casually.

Cassidy blushed slightly as she turned to look at him. "Oh, um, well... I tried to track down that third Death Eater, but it turns out that he has left town and no one knows when--or if--he'll be back. About all I could find out about him is that his name is Nathan. Does that name sound familiar to you?"

"Nathan?" Tyler repeated, racking his brain for any kind of memory of someone named Nathan. "I don't know. It sort of sounds familiar, but I'm really not sure. Maybe they just never referenced his name very much or something... but I'm drawing a blank. I knew Claudia's name because she told me before she put me under the curse. And Charles, I recognized him in that alleyway from a while ago when I actually was...you know, a Death Eater and all. But the other guy, I can't seem to remember at all. Except I'm certain he was a guy." He looked down at the ground, unsure of what else to say. "I'm sorry. I know I'm not being very helpful, but I can't remember the guy for the life of me. Perhaps if I could see like a picture of him, it might help me remember?"

"Well, to tell you the truth, I haven't been able to find out much about him myself," Cassidy explained. "I had another talk with Crystal Jacobs, who seems to know him pretty well, but she really won't tell me any details about him. To tell you the truth, I think she's protecting him. But she does say that she wants to help you, and that she'd be willing to come over and talk to you soon. And any member of the Order we can get on your side is a good thing."

"Right." Tyler nodded in agreement. "At least we are getting somewhere though. The fact that she's even on our side is a good thing. Hopefully, somewhere down the line, she'll decide to tell us about Nathan so that we can track him down. I'm already ready for this whole thing to end. I really wish I could get back to work. If I still decide to work in the Auror Department, that is. This whole thing has kind of made me a little skeptical about working in the middle of the action again." He said, looking down at the ground. "Speaking of Aurors though....Vincent hasn't been giving you any crap at the office after the whole ordeal with him punching me and all, has he?"

"No, I've pretty much been steering clear of him ever since it happened," Cassidy said. "Although, I was talking with a bunch of other girls--Emily Alchemia was one of them. Even if Vincent doesn't trust you, she believes in you. He hasn't managed to turn her against you. So that's something, right?" She gave him a slight smile. "I do hope we can get this thing worked out and prove that you were under the curse. It isn't fair that you should be blamed for something that you had no control over."

"Yeah, I think having Emily on our side is definitely a good thing. Especially since she sort of witnessed the whole thing too. Hopefully, she'll eventually convince Vincent that he's just being stubborn." Tyler said. "I just can't wait for this to be over. I wish they would hurry up and set a date for the hearing. Although, I still wonder if only having Dumbledore and Emily and maybe Crystal there to stand beside us will be enough to turn the entire Wizengamot. But I keep telling myself that I know we can win this." He looked up at her. "Well, techincally, you can win this. I haven't really done anything. And quite honestly- even with Dumbledore- I think that my case would be nowhere without you. Well, obviously I'd be completely screwed without a case worker, but you really have helped a lot. More than most people would, I'm sure. And I'm really happy that I got you anyways. You've been a great friend through all of this instead of just being completely and strictly professional. I really don't know how to thank you after all of this is done."

Cassidy blushed deeply. "Oh... I really haven't done that much," she said modestly. "But if we are able to get you out of this, you really don't need to thank me. For the first time ever, I'm really getting a chance to do my job. And when this is over, maybe I'll finally get the respect of my department. Everyone treats me like the secretary or something, and it isn't fair. You're the first person to actually trust that I really can do this job, and because you trust me... I believe it. And I'll do anything I can to prove your case. So I guess we're really just helping each other."

"And I'm definitely going to try and put in a good word for you and make sure that promoting you or whatever is given a few thoughts." Tyler added. "And if Vincent tries to take you down or anything because of me....I swear....I'm putting my foot down and doing something about it. Assuming that I continue working as an Auror too, he's probably going to be on my back the entire time." He said.

Cassidy blushed again. "Thank you. I just hope it all works out. Vincent is stubborn, and he's probably going to really push this case hard... but in a way, that's a good thing. He might just mess it up by doing that. I really think we can win this one." She smiled at him. "I know when this is over, it would be weird to work for him again. But I actually hope you don't quit. We could work together. And besides, I'd hate to see you give up, just because he doesn't trust you. I want to see you prove him wrong."

"I guess you've got a good point. But it's not only Vincent. After all that's happened, I can't help but think about what it might be like to have a quieter job. One where I won't have to worry about major situations like this. I don't know. I think I'll just keep an open mind until this whole case is over." Tyler explained, smiling. "But I suppose it would be kind of fun to work with you. I think we might make an interesting pair," He chuckled slightly. "As work partners, of course, I mean." He quickly added once he realized what he had said.

Cassidy blushed. "Oh, right, of course... I knew that. It's... it's OK." She laughed slightly. "I know what you mean about wanting a quieter job. What other things can you do? Do you have any other interests?"

"Oh, um..." Tyler thought for a moment. "Actually, I don't really know. I'm sure I could find something though. I've just never really tried anything any different. Through all of my school years, I always wanted to be an Auror and never really actually considered anything else." He shrugged. "I could always try opening up my own shop in Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley. But that just kind of seems a little boring. Or there's always working at the Department of Mysteries. I have always wondered what they do down there. But then again... from what I've heard, everyone who works there is so dark and weird." He chuckled slightly. "Geez... maybe I'm just too used to being an Auror and all of the excitement it brings. Who knows if there is anything else that will satisfy me as much?"
