A Gathering of Wolves (Zander's Pack)

[Pearl Nacreous]

Pearl sighed at the amount of food Skye put on her plate, she got the spoon from the pot and ladled a potato on her plate. "It's just a potato, you should eat it." She wanted Skye stronger, and with not enough food, she wasn't going to get any stronger. "I need you stronger Skye."

[Skye]

Skye nodded. "OK, Pearl," she said. "I will do as you say. I know I am not as strong as the others; I never have been. But I will try." She smiled uncertainly, as Fenrir's criticisms of her rang in her head. She raised her chin and took a bite of the potato Pearl had given her. "It is good. I had forgotten what a good cook you are."

[Pearl Nacreous]

"Well it's because we have a place here...we weren't so much as living in homes, as we were squatters" she paused and smiled "thank you Skye, just remember what ever he's told you, it's not a reflection on what I think of you." she said placing a hand on Skye's shoulder, then dropping it back down to her side.

[Skye]

Skye smiled at her. Pearl was her closest friend, she always had been. But deep inside, Skye always feared that Fenrir was right about her, that she was weak and worthless. She tried to remind herself of how she had helped the new pup, Kris, get to safety, and she felt a little better. If Pearl believed in her, then surely she belonged here. "Thank you," she said softly.

[Remus Lupin]

Remus watched all this quietly, then walked over and began to put some food on his own plate. He took a moderate amount, then waited for Kris before going outside.

[Kris Lupin]

Kris didn't get any food, she just walked over to Remus. She really didn't have an appetite.

Ashura hung back not really knowing what to do, she was still thinking about her brother. She was something he hated, what if she was the one that killed his fiancé? She covered her face as she tried to remember.

[David Harmon]

David gave a smile to Pearl, and fixed his own plate. It wasn't a whole lot, but yet it wasn't not enough either. "Pearl's right," he said. "Things are different now, and what Fenrir said doesn't apply now."

[Zander Smith]

Zander shook his head and walked over to the newer members. "Now, Kris, please take some food. At least a little bit. And Ashura, is something wrong? You don't look well."

[Kris Lupin]

"I-I don't have much of an appetite." Kris said quietly.

Ashura looked at the floor then at Zander. "I found my brother...but he kills werewolves...I..don't know what to do."

[Zander Smith]

Zander started to try convincing Kris to eat, but was distracted when Ashura mentioned her brother. "He what? He kills werewolves?" he repeated worriedly. "Wait... is he that guy I met in the Hog's Head? The one who calls himself a werewolf hunter?"

[Kris Lupin]

Ashura shrugged. "It's possible, his name is Sully."

[Zander Smith]

"Sully..." Zander repeated. "Yeah... I think that was the guy's name." He looked over at Pearl. "This guy's kind of unstable.... I think he's fairly dangerous. What do you think we should do? I don't want to risk the pack members against a werewolf hunter." He frowned. "I can't even understand why he'd want to kill werewolves... doesn't he know that most of us don't really want to hurt people?"

[Kris Lupin]

"His fiancé was killed by one...I think he's trying to find the one that did it." Ashura said. "But I'm not sure."

[Remus Lupin]

Remus looked nervously at the girl who said her brother killed werewolves. "But if he just kills them, how will he know if he finds the one that did it? How does he know he didn't already kill the right one?"

[Kris Lupin]

"I don't know...I might even have been the one that done it...I barely remember the first few times I transformed." Ashura looked at the floor.

Kris moved over to Remus at the sound of his voice. She felt she needed to be close to him, she also felt protective of him, but that was a natural feeling for a big sister.

[Zander Smith]

"Well, maybe if we can figure out who did kill his fiance, then maybe he'll stop hunting werewolves," Zander said. "But I don't have any idea how to figure that out. I know we can probably rule out most of us, though."

[Skye]

"That sounds like a good idea," said Skye. "But it could be hard to do, especially if he doesn't really want our help. How do we help someone who doesn't want to be helped?"

[Pearl Nacreous]

Pearl looked worriedly between them all. "It's a risk, the only thing I believe we can do is try and show him we don't mean any harm to the humans around us... he mustn't know where we gather, and Skye you have an excellent point, the only way around that is to possibly send an ambassador, and keep the rest of us, especially the pups, hidden." she said thoughtfully "I don't want my family harmed in this, if the ambassador fails, we avoid him at all costs." she said still apprehensive.

[Zander Smith]

Zander nodded. "You're right, Pearl. And I don't want any of you putting yourselves in danger with this guy. I met him the one time, so I'll deal with him myself. I'll try to help him figure out who killed his fiancee. The good thing is, I don't think he can generally spot a werewolf in human form. He didn't even suspect me. I'll see if I can work with that." He looked over at Ashura. "It's up to you, whether you want to try and form a relationship with him. He's your brother... but right now, you are on opposite sides. If you think you can get through to him, you're welcome to try. But if it's too hard for you, then just stay away and leave it to me."

[Kris Lupin]

"I don't want anyone to be hurt because of me...I'll just deal with it the best I can." Ashura said.
