Kris walked over to where Remus sat then sat on the floor beside him. She tugged her hair nervously as she sat in silence.

Karl gave Kris a little smile and wave. "Kris is the one me and Chloe and Skye rescued from Fenrir after he turned her over by the big school," he explained to Pearl.

Pearl beamed at the girl. "I knew it! the scent of your kin is undeniable Remus!" she ruffled her hair as the girl tugged on it. "No need to fret, you're family now. Karl and Chloe I can always trust to find good pups. " she tweaked Remus's nose "Not to worry, When you're ready, I'm here." Pearl loved these poor children, She felt sad that Remus was so unhappy, but once he was comfortable, she could help. His sister seemed more afraid than unhappy. "Fenrir is my father too, That makes you my sister, just like Chloe and Skye." she said hoping to clam the girls nerves.

Zander smiled. He loved how Pearl took care of the young ones. He slipped his hand in hers. "OK, now that we're all here, I just wanted to start by making sure everyone knows everyone else." he pointed at himself. I'm Zander, and this is Pearl. Over there we have Skye, David, Karl, Chloe, Dragos, Ashura, Remus, and... you said your name was Kris, right? So welcome to all of you. A lot of us stay here with Chloe, but you don't have to. Just check in with us once in a while. And don't be afraid to get to know each other. If we're really going to be a pack, we've got to know that we can rely on each other. Right, Pearl?"

"Yes of course! You can rely on us, and what we can teach you." she said standing up brushing her knees off. "I think we should all sit down and eat! it'll get cold before we know it!" she said with a bright smile placing a hand on the backs of the youngest of them. She really felt happier than she had in years.

"Good idea, Pearl," Zander said, standing up. "Come on, everyone, into the kitchen! When you have your food, you can go outside, we have some picnic tables and blankets set up in the back." He led the way into the kitchen, and, as the pack leader, took the first helping.

Pearl laughed as Zander got a large helping of food, she got a modest sized serving, trying to make sure everyone had plenty to eat. She would be more than willing to to eat if it meant another pack member that was younger or weaker could.

Chloe stood up and stretched a little before standing up. She reached down from Karl's hand. "Come on Karl. Let's get something to eat," she said.

Skye stood up and walked into the kitchen, but she hung back. She wanted to make sure everyone had enough to eat before she took her own food. She always felt that she was the least important among them all, so she preferred to step back and let others go first.

Chloe laughed at Karl. "I've noticed," she said. Chloe took her plate, but didn't have much on it. She didn't want to eat too much since not everyone had gotten a plate. "So Karl, were do you want to sit? On the ground or at a table?"

Pearl looked at Skye, she had stopped being a pup along time ago, but Pearl still found it hard not to make sure she ate. Pearl would probably always think of Skye as a pup, not that she wasn't, but because she was the most serene of them all.

David hung back on the living room area for a few more seconds before heading towards the kitchen. He noticed that Skye was just standing there. "Come on Skye," said David putting a hand between her shoulder blades. "You have to have something to eat. Just go ahead and get it. There's plenty, I promise," he said urging her to go ahead and get a plate.

Dragos had waited a few minutes before going in to get something to eat. He hadn't ever really had to worry about being polite before and thinking of other people. It felt kind of strange, but he knew that it was nice and the right thing to do. So he waited until Chloe said something to Karl and followed them into the kitchen. He filled his plate and grinned as he listened to Karl and Chloe talk. It was easy to tell that Karl was a little nervous around her, but it seemed like he really liked Chloe.

Pearl frowned and said "Well he isn't our pack leader, Zander and I are, and I say eat." She wasn't going to let the memory of her 'father' rule her pack. She smiled at Skye "besides, You know so far no one is treated like he treated us." she walked over to Skye and handed her plate of food. "Here, If you want more, Just get it."

Skye nodded. "You are right," she said, walking over and taking a plate. "I am used to being last... to being nothing in Fenrir's eyes. But things are different now. It just... takes some getting used to." She put a small amount on her plate and stood aside, waiting for David.
