Pearl had her eyes shut blissfully in love with Zander and when she heard him, her ears perked and she opened her eyes narrowly "How many were before me?" she asked feeling her heart burn with the emotion she can come to understand as jealousy.

He heard the change in her tone and he felt a pang of worry. "Not a lot," he said quickly, almost defensively. "There... well, really there was just one... and another that I met at the same time as you, and I had feelings for her... but my feelings for you wiped them all away." he sighed. "I wasn't going to tell you, but I wanted to be honest with you."

"I know, and I had a lot of girls try to throw themselves at me," Zander confessed. "But I was going steady with Becky for more than two years. When I was with her, I stayed loyal to her, even though other girls were always trying to get my attention. We broke up just after I was turned, because I became too distant with her. She was my first love... but we outgrew each other. As for Lucie... I had feelings for her, but she was my brother's girlfriend and she was still grieving over his death. It wouldn't have been right."

Pearl's pout didn't improve. "I could only guess how you're brother and his mate would be... But I know I'm your mate." she said relaxing again in his arms. "you are mine." she growled and kissed him fiercely, ah how strange it was to feel her wolf burn in her blood.

He kissed her. "Pearl, I didn't tell you this to upset you. I told you because I wanted to be honest with you. To make sure you know that everyone else is in my past. You are my present, and my future. You're all I want." He tipped her chin up with one finger. "You know that, right?"

Zander kissed her deeply. "Did you know... L.J., the girl that Greyback bit and then made me say I turned? She said that same day, before I even really knew you, that I was going to fall in love with someone. She has a power where she can see the future, and she saw mine. So you see, we were meant to be."

"The future..." Pearl looked at Zanders' kissed lips "The futrue isn't set in stone, But i'm glad she set you in motion... The future is just our intentions and actions in motion, while they might have a likely course...it easily could of been your brother's mate... or even LJ herself." she said looking up her eyes catching Zander's. "You and I now have our future now." she said kissing him softly.

Zander nodded. Those thoughts had run through his mind at the time. He had thought he was falling for Lucie, and hadn't expected to fall for Pearl. He kissed her again and began walking backwards out of the kitchen. "That's one of the best things about our love," he said softly. "It was unexpected. It wasn't something I was looking for, it just happened. The night we met, I was preoccupied with Lucie. And yet, somehow, when we danced... I felt things I had never felt before. And I still feel those things, everytime I look at you."

Pearl smiled and led Zander out of the kitchen. "I was the lucky one that night... even if it wasn't the easiest thing i've had to go through...But how about you tell me more about what it is that I do to you." she playfully caught his hands and kissed him again.

Zander chuckled deep in his throat. "I have a better idea," he said, in a voice almost like a low growl. "How about if I show you...?" He kissed her again and continued to walk backwards out into the hall and toward one of the spare bedrooms. "I mean... to kiss and walk backwards with true accuracy.... that's talent, don't you think?"
