Chloe got into work about ten minutes late, because she over slept a little. Once she got there, it wasn't that busy but as soon as she finished taken someone's order, the place started to fill up. For the next few hours, she stayed busy taken orders, and cleaning off tables. Finally things calmed down a bit and she could take things slower. After the lunch hour people cleared out, she sat down and relaxed after she finished cleaning tables, getting ready for the dinner people to come in. Chloe had sat down for about 15 minutes before the next crowd started to come in. She sighed and quickly went back to work, taking orders and cleaning off tables. Finally, just finally, things slowed down and she sat back down, tired. Chloe slowly got up and started to wipe off the tables and sit things back in place.

Becky finished cleaning up a spill in the middle of the floor and looked out at the now-virtually empty restaurant. "Whew!" she sighed, putting her hand to her head and sitting down next to Chloe. "That was exhausting... we haven't had time to talk all day. "What's up with you, Chloe?"

"Nothing much really," said Chloe. "I got to work late, and by the time I grabbed my pad, everyone started coming in," she said. "I forgot how tiresome this job could be. I think whenever I go home, I'm going to take a nice long hot bath." Chloe stretched a little. "So what's been going on with you?"

Becky shrugged. "Nothing, really. I swear, my life is so boring. I come to work, I go home, I read for a while, then go to bed. It's kind of depressing, actually. I can't even tell you when the last time I did something fun was."

"I still do that sometimes," said Chloe. "Whenever I do work, I just go home, take a bath, then go to bed. On days I don't work, well, you know what happens on certain nights," she said. "We should do something together sometime. I think I could use a little fun too, rather than just getting into fights, and avoiding them."

"Greyback," said Chloe. "He attacked a kid at hogwarts. Poor kid got turned, and we took her in, before he could. Only Karl ended up getting hurt, but he's alright now," she said with her cheeks turning a slight pink whenever she mentioned Karl. "We're trying to avoid fights that aren't needed."

Becky raised her eyebrows. "Karl?" she repeated. "So tell me about this Karl. You know that you blushed when you said his name, don't you? Do you like him?"

"I did," questioned Chloe. "I feel like a little school girl again," she said with a laugh. "I do, but I don't want to tell him, because we're friends, and I don't want things awkward. Everything has to be complicated," she said with a sigh.

Becky smiled at her. "Chloe, if you like him, you should do something about it! Come on, who says it'll ruin your friendship. Sometimes the best relationships are between two friends. I envy you, really. I still can't seem to get over Zander. How is he, Chloe? Is he well? This woman he's with... is she good to him?"

"That's good," said Becky. "I'm glad he's happy." She sighed and rubbed her forehead tiredly. "I've got to get out there... try and meet someone. I have to get over him, you know? It's stupid for me to still be hung up on him. It's been more than 6 months."

"Well, I tell you what," said Chloe. "Tomorrow night, we have nothing planned, so let's go out. What do you say? You could possibly meet someone, and you could have fun," she said with a grin.

Karl wandered into the Hot Panini. It was a lot nicer than the places he usually liked to go, but he knew that Chloe worked there and that she would be getting ready to go home sooon, so he thought he would just stop by to maybe walk her home. He saw her talking with another girl with reddish brown hair and he walked over to her. "Hey, Chloe," he said gruffly.

Becky raised her eyebrows as she looked at Karl. He was... well... hot. A bit scruffy, and definitely rough around the edges... but very attractive, with a nice smile and a cute pair of dimples. Not at all what she had expected Chloe to like... but she couldn't blame her one bit. "Oh, so you're Karl," she said, smiling and shaking his hand. "It's nice to meet you. I've heard so much about you!" She barely suppressed a laugh as she added, "You know, I have some work to do in the back, if you two want to be alone..."

Chloe didn't really know what to say to Becky after her comments. She had to admit she was half amused at the thought of what she said, but she still shot her a look anyway. "So, Karl, what are you doing out so late?"
