Emily nodded. "Yeah. There's something else I don't like about the minister, but I haven't been able to put my finger on it yet," she said. "I don't like his assistant either. I just don't trust them. But let's change the subject before anyone hears anything. Have you been able to move the rest of your foot since last night?"

"Yeah, good idea," he said. He wanted to tell her more of his reservations about the Minister, but he recognized that this was not the best place to discuss it. Instead, he smiled slightly. "I only had time for a short rehab session today, but I was able to get the whole top of my foot to move a little. It's still a long way from being able to walk, but I'm definitely improving."

Emily smiled and kissed his forehead. "Well, I'm glad. If you have another rehab session today, I'll go with you seeing as I have nothing else to do."

Claudia, who was sitting just a few seats away from Craven and his assistant, frowned deeply. What was the big deal about Isabella, anyway? Clearly she had never really had what it took to be truly evil. The Dark Lord's faith in her had been misplaced. Yet Claudia knew she was the one with the unswaying power to overcome her pitiful past. She should have been second in command, and instead, she'd been sent on a fact-finding mission in Asia while Isabella and her foolish husband had been left in charge. While she certainly did not wish to question the Dark Lord's decisions, she felt that her doubts had now been justified. And perhaps, when he learned of her latest activities and the information she would gather from Tyler, he would see that she was the one who should be his second in command.
Annoyed, she abruptly turned to Craven and Weiss. "Isabella is weak and foolish. She was never cut out for the job or the authority he gave her. While some of us who are more worthy struggle in vain for the attention they deserve. You would be wise to write her off now, Craven. She'll get what's coming to her soon enough."

Tyler quickly looked over to where Claudia was sitting, talking with the minister and his assistant. She seemed to be angry about something, and through his connection to her through the imperius curse, he felt her hatred for Isabella Rothschild and her need for revenge. He looked back over to Isabella who was with her husband, who he had never cared enough to remember the name of. He suddenly felt like it was his duty to silence her for Claudia, but he continued to sit and watch silently, still bound by the imperius curse.

Isabella felt the heat of another set of eyes on her and turned to see a man she vaguely recognized from their first Order meeting staring at her venomously. She shuddered. "Voltaire, why don't we go down and talk to Emily and Vincent?" she suggested. She got to her feet, leaning on him heavily, and made her way down the stairs to where Emily was talking to Vincent. "Hey, you two," she said. "What's going on?"

"Vincent's been able to move his foot," said Emily with a smile. "By the way," she looked at Vincent, still smiling, then back at Isabella, "we're engaged."

Isabella broke out in a smile and hugged Emily. "Oh, Emily, that's wonderful! Congratulations, you two!" She gave Vincent a nudge. "About time you finally proposed to her..."

"Wow! I didn't have to convince you of it at all now did I?" said Voltaire winking at Vincent. "To think you saved my life three times that day!" he remembered vividly the encounter with Tai and how Isa was livid one second than crying, then hungry. He laughed at the memory of his poor moody wife and rubbed a small circle on her lower back.

Isabella leaned her head against Voltaire's shoulder. "I'm just glad you two were able to work it out... you truly belong together. Just like Voltaire and I." She smiled.

Elle waited patiently outside, she walked back and forth, back and forth, ready to go in. She knew Carrie would be there, and Lucie, and Dumbledore, so why was she so scared? She took deep breaths and waited for the call for her to come in.

Sabrina stood next to Elle. She was also going to be a witness for Elle's defense, but in the meanwhile, she wanted to stay with her cousin for moral support. She patted Elle's arm. "It'll be OK, I'm sure of it," she said softly.

Natalie stood quietly by, staring at the floor. She wasn't going to testify, but her whole family (what was left of it) was here, and so were Voltaire and Isabella. She was just going to watch and give moral support, even though she already knew what would happen. She wasn't worried about the trial... just the people she knew were going to be there...

While Elle was talking to Sabrina, she looked over at Natalie, she seemed a bit down. Did she know what was going to happen? Did she know who was in there? Elle smiled at Natalie and hoped she didn't actually know what was going to happen.

Natalie caught Elle smiling at her and managed one of her tiny half-smiles. She didn't want to explain that the reason she was upset was because she knew the Minister of Magic--the man who was going to kill her sister--was inside that courtroom.

Sabrina looked at her sister worriedly. "You know how she is," she said. "She's usually down." As she thought about it, she realized she couldn't remember the last time Natalie had laughed. "Natty, are you OK? Do... do you know what's going to happen in the trial?"

Elle stood next to Natalie, concerned about her, if she knew what was going to happen, her worry would be over.
