Investigating (Alastor)

[Angelique St. Clare]

Angelique had heard about the Shrieking Shack and how it was supposedly haunted, so she walked towards it, intending to check the place out. In her experience with ghosts, the behavior they described didn't exactly sound typical, so she thought she'd take a look at what else could be causing it. Along the way, she nearly ran into someone who was walking in the opposite direction. "Ooop... watch where you're going!" she gasped, jumping quickly out of the way. She wobbled slightly on her high heels, but quickly steadied herself.

[Alastor Domino]

"Oh, sorry." Alastor said stopping, after he'd almost run into the woman, to help her. "Are you okay?" He stood there for a moment. "You really shouldn't be walking in heels around here, it's quite marshy."

[Angelique St. Clare]

"I was doing just fine before," Angelique replied. She looked at the guy who had run into her. "You're in an awfully big hurry. Where are you going to in such a rush?"

[Alastor Domino]

"Yeah, a family tragedy occurred a day ago and I'm just doing stuff for a funeral." Alastor explained to her, but partly. She was a strange and didn't need to know about the specifics. "Oh, and I'm Alastor Domino, just so you know."

[Angelique St. Clare]

"Oh," Angelique said. Her demeanor changed and she looked at him sincerely. "I'm, um... I'm really sorry. Of course, just... carry on your way." She started to walk away, but then she stopped and looked at him again. "Domino, you said your name was? Did you by any chance have a sister named Olivia?"

[Alastor Domino]

"She was my sister, yes." Alastor replied looking at her strangely and confusedly. "Why do you ask?" It was pretty random of her to ask him that.

[Angelique St. Clare]

"Well, it's just... see, my half-brother, Wesley, was married to a woman named Olivia Domino," Angelique explained. "I only met her once, when I came here to England for the wedding. I was 12. I received notice recently that Wesley died. Are you the one who's watching his kids?"

[Alastor Domino]

"Well, no, I can't explain it right now in public." Alastor told her. He looked around quickly to see if anyone was following them. "Can you come with me to the hospital wing at Hogwarts?"

[Angelique St. Clare]

Angelique looked at him strangely. "Um, OK, I guess," she said. "I've been meaning to head over to Hogwarts, anyway, to talk to Albus Dumbledore. What about the thing you were doing before?"

[Alastor Domino]

"I'll do it afterwards." Alastor said, this was a little bit more important. "Were you and Wesley on good terms before he died?" He had to keep lieing to her about him being dead until they were in the castle.

[Angelique St. Clare]

"We weren't close, not really," Angelique said, following behind him. "But we didn't hate each other or anything. It's just that I lived in America, and he lived here, he was very busy... We wrote to each other every so often, but that was about it. I haven't even seen him since I was 12."

[Alastor Domino]

"Oh." Alastor said quietly. He didn't want to intrude on anything but he had to ask her. "Besides coming to talk to Dumbledore, why exactly did you come? If you don't mind me asking.." He started walking slowly back up to the castle with her.

[Angelique St. Clare]

"I'm an auror, and I was working in the auror office in the States," Angelique explained. "I had a... disagreement with my boss, after he refused to let me go after a really influential wizard with ties to dark magic, and I quit. I came here to take a job with the Ministry here and work against Lord Voldemort. I figured I could do more good here than I could there, anyway."

[Alastor Domino]

Alastor listened. "A wizard with ties to dark magic?" He said. "Have you thought about being the minister of magic?"

[Angelique St. Clare]

"Interesting idea," Angelique said. "I only just got here, but I'm not gonna lie... the thought has occurred to me before. I was second in command in America, and I was much tougher than the head of the auror office there. He was inclined to let people go if they were powerful and influential. I thought they all should be put away. Personally, I think he was taking bribes, but I couldn't prove it. Anyway, I think I'll be able to do better here. I guess I'll take it as it comes. How far is the school from here?"

[Alastor Domino]

"We recently lost our Minister of Magic. He was in league with the Dark Lord. I had actually been investigating him. I'm an undercover Auror. Hardly anyone knows it." Alastor informed her. He looked around at the scenery. "The school isn't too far away."

[Angelique St. Clare]

"Well, that sounds interesting," Angelique said. "How could someone who was working with the Dark Lord, as you call him, manage to rise up in power so easily? It seems like something like that should be better controlled."

[Alastor Domino]

"Most of the ministry workers were afraid of him and Dumbledore didn't have any power in the ministry. Craven had help from Voldemort I suppose." Alastor said. He could see the castle fully as their got closer.

[Angelique St. Clare]

"I guess with people like that, they'll find a way," Angelique commented. As the castle came into sight, she stopped in her tracks, staring. "Wow..." she breathed. "Well, there's something we don't have in America."

[Alastor Domino]

Alastor smiled at her expression. "You've rarely been to England haven't you?" He asked chuckling. "Castles are all over the place."
