Vincent laughed and ran up the stairs two at a time, catching up with her at the very top and sweeping her into his arms. Then he kissed her passionately and carried her into the bedroom. He laid her down on the bed, then laid down next to her. "How's this? Better?"

Emily laughed as he caught her. "That was fun," said Emily still smiling. "We should do it again sometime. And yes, that was better," she said with wink. Emily slid as close as she could to him and kissed him, then laid her head on his arm.

Vincent smiled and held her close to him. "Well, we're have lots of time," he said. "A whole lifetime. As long as I have you, nothing else matters." He kissed her cheek. "Now, you close your eyes and sleep now. I'll be right here."

"Okay," said Emily. She put a hand on his chest and moved her head a little before closing her eyes. "I love you," she mumbled before drifting off to sleep.

"I love you, too," Vincent whispered. He looked down at her and allowed a tear to slip from his eye. He didn't want her to know just how badly he had wanted to have children with her. He was just going to have to get used to the idea that she wouldn't be able to have children. He sighed softly and closed his eyes.
