Vincent walked over to her and put his arms around her. "It will be OK. I promise. We... we could adopt. Or... just not have kids. I mean, we live in such dangerous times, maybe it's better that we don't. Look at Isabella and Voltaire. They've just lost their baby... and now they may be splitting up... I don't want that to happen to us."

Emily relaxed a little bit. "I know that these are dangerous times, and I don't believe anything could split us up," she said. "But, you know both of us want children. We'll decide completely soon, we've got more things to worry about, right?"

"Yeah, we don't have to decide this now," Vincent said. "You've only just found out... we have to deal with that first. And we've got to do whatever we can to help Isabella find her baby. I don't think I could stand to see Isabella and Voltaire split up, after everything they went through." He leaned in and kissed her forehead. "I love you. Don't forget that."

"I won't forget it," said Emily with a smile. "I don't want Isabella and Voltaire to split up either. What could we do to try and prevent that from happening?"

"Well, I guess the first thing we need to do is work on finding out where Voldemort's got the baby," Vincent said. "I think once they have their son back, the rest will start to fall back into place. I hope."

Emily rested her head on Vincent's chest. "Knowing Voldemort, the baby could be anywhere," said Emily. "And right now, I don't really know of anyone who would know, except for maybe Charles, but I don't think he'll help us." Emily sighed. "I hope everything will fall back into place after the baby is found, for their sake."

"Psssh," Vincent said. "Charles doesn't know anything. He heard there was trouble between Isabella and Voltaire and thought he could come over here and make a move on Isabella. The first time I ever saw that jerk, he was hitting on her, but she only had eyes for Voltaire. I didn't even know they were a couple at the time, but they both were so preoccupied with each other, it was pretty obvious that they had a connection. I hate to think of them breaking up because of something Voldemort did. That's what he wanted... to make them suffer. We've got to help her get that baby back. I just wish I had some idea of where to start."

Emily shrugged. "I don't know where to start. I'm not even sure of anyone that we could talk to," said Emily. She yawned. "Maybe I can think more after I sleep for a little bit. Want to come take a small nap with me," she said tilting her head up. "Or do you want to go back to work?"

"No, I'll come with you," Vincent said, sensing that she needed him then. "Zander can watch the bar. It was a good idea you had, hiring him. He's a good worker, and he gets along well with the customers." He put his arm around her. "Come on, let's go upstairs. I can just hold you, if you want."

Emily smiled. "Yeah, he does," she said in agreement. "Thanks," she said as she stood up and took his hand. "I could use a little sleep."

Vincent kissed her forehead. "OK, let's go, then. I'm sure everything will be fine in the bar. Do you want to go home, or should we go upstairs to the spare room?"

"It doesn't matter. If you don't plan on coming back to work, then we can go home, but if you want to return to work, we can just go upstairs," said Emily.

"Hmmm," Vincent said. "Why don't we just go home? I'll tell Zander to close up tonight." He led her out to the bar. "Hang on, I'll just go talk to Zander real quick, OK?"

Emily followed Vincent out. "Alright," said Emily standing in the place she had stopped. She crossed her arms and waited patiently.

Vincent walked over to Zander and explained that they were leaving, and told him to close up. "If you want to close a little early, that's OK," he said. "I'll talk to you tomorrow. And if there's any trouble, you know what to do."
Once he was satisfied, he walked back over to Emily and put his arm around her shoulder. "Come on, honey, let's go home."

Emily waved bye to Zander and headed out with Vincent. "Thanks for coming," said Emily. "And thanks for handling everything so well. I was scared to tell you, because I was scared that you were going to flip and get angry about it."

"How could I be angry?" Vincent said. "It wasn't your fault. You were attacked and injured. I'm just glad you're alive. I don't know what I'd do without you." He leaned in and kissed her lips gently. "On the other hand, if I get my hands on anyone who had anything to do with that attack, I'll make them pay!"

Emily gave him a small smile. "Well, we're not going to worry about having revenge right now," said Emily. They arrived at the house, and Emily closed the door behind them.

"All right, love," Vincent said. "The important thing is that you get some rest. And know that I love you, no matter what happens."

"I know that," said Emily with a smile. "Come on. I'm ready to go to sleep. Know what? Better yet, how bout you catch me, if you can," she said with a wink and headed up the stairs quickly.
