Olivander eyes Rabastan as the boy walked into his shop.
"The last one was Rosewood with a pheonix feather. It didn't last you very long."
"It's usefulness ran thin," Rabastan replied.
"Well, I have just the one for you," Ollivander said, selecting a box and producing the wand for Rabastan.
This was only Rabastan's second wand, so he wasn't familiar with what to look for, but they both knew this was the wand for Rabastan.
"Mahogany and Veela hair. Suits you well."
"Yeah, yeah. How much for it?"
"14 galleons," Ollivander said with a sigh.
"Perfect," Rabastan replied, paying and leaving with his final purchase.

"Come on Gage..." Gage's older sister Lexie dragged him through the doors.
"Lex, I can do this on my own you know," Gage said.
"Well fine then," Lexie said. "Bye Mr. O!" she called and walked out the door.
"Goodbye Alexa," a voice startled Gage nearly out of his socks. "And you must be young Gage Oliver." Mr. Olivandar said.
"Yes sir," Gage said, trying not to be frightened of the man standing uncomfortably close. "I know which wand I'd perfer sir," Gage said, remembering what type of wand Logan, Gage's olny and oldest brother, had.
"I would assume it would be Cherry and Dragon Heartstring?" Mr. Ollivander asked, pulling a long box out of the shelf.
"Yes sir, but how..."
"That'll be seven galleons," Gage handed over the money, thanked the man, and made a quick pace toward the door. "Oh and Mr. Oliver!" Gage froze in his steps. "Your time at Hogwarts should be a time to make a name for YOURSELF, not to leach off the reputation of your brother." and with that word of advice, Gage ran out to find Lexie.

Post by Alice Prewett on Sept 4, 2008 12:13:38 GMT -5
Alice Prewett walked into the familiar wand store with an impish smile on her face. She'd visited Mr. Ollivander before. However, having recently broken her last wand in a duel with one of her cousins, Bellatrix, not for the first time, she was in need of a new one. Alice grinned up at Mr. Ollivander and he gave her a wise look, "So you have managed to break your second wand Miss Prewett?"
Alice at least had the decency to blush about it and nodded, "yes, I'm afraid so.. though I wish I could find another like my old wand. I was quite fond of it the last few years."
She watched as he sighed in his usual way when someone came to find another wand after their previous had been carelessly broken or destroyed and went back into the back of the store for several long minutes before returning. "I believe this one may work for you a bit better than your last one, lets try it out shall we?" he said with a glimmer in his eye. He had recently sold a similar wand to one of her cousins not long ago.
Alice held the wand and carefully felt the handle fitting into her palm and gently waved it with purpose.. "Lumos!" .. and the wand lit up like a white torch on its end shining brightly and steady. She felt a familiar tingle down her arm... yes this was certainly the right one for her. "Once again you know me too well Mr. Ollivander... this one will be perfect.. what is it?"
"An 11 inch oak wand with Dragon Heartstring core, miss. It will be 7 galleons," he replied matter of factly. Alice paid the man without hesitation and walked back into the alley to find the remainder of her supplies for the year.

Rita went to the counter and saw Mr. Ollivander calling him over with a twinkle to her voice. "I'm in need of a wand, as my mothers will no longer do for me... I think I've managed to break it somehow." She handed over her old wand which didn't look broken but he noded examining it. "Of course, Miss Skeeter. Let me find you something more suitable for you then."
As he went off to the left and picked out a box that was in the middle of a pile of other wand boxes and blew the dust off of it. He handed it to her and said "try this one.. it is elm with a veela hair core.. and I think 12 inches would do the trick better than your old 10 inch one."
Rita Skeeter flicked the wand and smiled as she felt it almost sing in her hands with life. "Oh yes this will do perfectly thank you. How much?" He advised her of the 11 galleon pricetag and she paid it before going along her way outside towards the cauldron shop.

Flicking the wand in his hand red sparks showered over the entire place, lighting it up brightly. It's magnificent glare striking at his eyes as he brought it down looking at Ollivander. The old man had been the most resonable person he had to work with all day. Leon was surprised, usually theyw were long winded, and slow, but he was quick and strait to the point. Leon liked that about him, he would have to remember that.
The wand seemed to fit him perfectly, everything about it singing into his soul. Letting it's power course through him he looked at the man as they made their way back to the counter. The man looked up at him as he recited what he had gotten.
"Eleven inch Yew Kelpie Hair wand. That'll be 14 galleons."
Handing him the coins he started to leave as he remembered to pick up his other things.
"Thanks"
The words were thick with malice as he turned around and headed out of the store. Already thinking about the next place he would have to go.

Bluebell had walked into the mystical shop, staring up at everything. She had wondered when this would happen and now she wondered how this would go.
Upon entering the shop, she was almost overwhelmed as Ollivander began to talk with her. She smiled nervously at him and stated, "I'm left handed."
He smiled and began to work on finding various wands for her to try. Each one seemed to be...wrong. That was, until she picked up the Cherry with Unicorn hair core. She flicked it, and some sparks flew out from the end of her wand, causing her to make a little happy sound.
Ollivander smiled. "That will be 7 galleons," he stated.
She had to scrape, but she was able to get it for him. She smiled and handed it over to him. "Thank you," she responded and left, her shopping over.
She would just have to use a school owl if she needed to.

Raina's arms were full as she walked into Ollivander's, but she knew she still had several items left on her list. She muttered under her breath about having to do everything herself, before setting her pile down and approaching the desk. Mr. Ollivander came out from the back, an armfull of boxes under his arm.
"Ah! Miss Lorlight. Back again? What happened to the wand I sold you 3 years ago?" Raina blushed as she explained how her wand had been broken.
"I see." Replied Mr. Ollivander as he moved to set down the boxes he was holding. He then moved and grabbed a few more boxes. "Here these are very similar to your last wand, one of them should do nicely." Raina tried a few of the wands, and the fourth one finally felt right.
"Just as thought" Mr. Ollivander stated. "Another Holly and Hippogriff Talon. That's seven galleons please, Miss Lorlight."
Raina smiled and said thanks. She then paid Mr. Ollivander the 7 galleons, grabbed her other items and left the shop.

Eury smiled as she walked into the wand shop. Her last wand had snapped , but the wand had been her great grandmothers anyway. Cherry, Heartstrings and 11 inches, it had never liked her.
"Ah..Ms. Lilly, we meet at last, please come, come." Came the airy voice of the shop owner. Eury nodded and walked forward, letting him measure her arm and then he handed her a wand.
"Try this, Ash, Demiguise Hair, 7 inches." He said and She took the wand and waved it. She winced as the jars everywhere combusted and a piece hit her in the arm. She looked down at the blood coming from her arm and shook her head and rolled her blue eyes, she had worse.
"No. not that one." He said and pursed his lips before coming back with another wand.
"Yew, Veela Hair, 10 inches.....very nice and powerful, people with a true Yew wand are very few these days." He said and Eury waved it and smiled as the area was bathed in Green/Silver/Blue/ and Bronze sparks.
"How much?" She asked and he sniffed and said, "14 galleons." She nodded and paid him before taking her purchase and leaving

Chandra walked slowly and carefully into the shop. She looked around catiously, she'd never liked people jumping out at her. 'Isn't the most pleasant looking place' Chandra though to herself looking around. "Ah hello Miss Lowell" Mr Olivander smiled. Chandra was wary of him. The only reason she didn't ask how he knew her name because well, it is magic. "Looking for your first wand I presume" he smiled pleasantly. With a weak smiled Chandra nodded. "Here, try this one" Mr Olivander handed a wand. Just as Chandra was about to wave it he nearly snatched it out of her hand. He handed her another Wand. As soon as it touched Chandras hand she felt power surge through her. "Yes, that's the one" Olivander smiled "Dragon Heartstring, Oak" "That'll be seven Galleons please" he smiled again. She handed over the money and left the shop.

Essie walked into Ollivander's Shop. She walked up to the counter, and smiled.
"Miss James, are you here for a wand?" She nodded. Essie wanted to get out of there as fast as she could.
"Well, lets try this combination: Rosewood and Demiguise hair." Essie accepted the wand and flicked it. It worked! Ollivander nodded at her.
"Ten Galleons, please." Essie payed him the money and walked out of the shop. That was easy, she thought. She didn't even have to say a word!

Post by Barty Crouch Jr. on Jan 3, 2010 18:44:41 GMT -5
It was a great relief to be without either of his parents , even for a few minutes. Barty’s mother had left him at the door to the old weathered shop. Bits of paint flecking away from its exterior. The stores name old and warn still shown from up above. As he opened the door the slight tinkling of a bell could be heard.
“Mister Crouch… Junior…” A voice seemed to echo from somewhere above his head. Barty’s head moved so fast he felt a stinging sensation in his neck. His mouth falling open in a look of surprise. A flash of thought composed itself within his mind. ‘What a creepy bloke, and what would my father say if he saw he looking like a carp.’ He thought, snapping his mouth shut almost as fast has it had happened.
“Let‘s see, pine and unicorn hair.” The man said stepping down from a ladder and handing a wand out to him. Barty took it with much trepidation and gave it a awkward wave as he had seen other wizards do. A jar full of some foal looking green slimy liquid exploded with so much force Barty became drenched in it.
“No, no definitely not, lets see… ash and dragon heartstring.” The spooky man said reaching upon a shelve and handing it to Barty, taking the other wand away from him. Barty gave this a wave hoping it wouldn’t blow up the store. Silver and golden sparks flew from its tip and radiated Barty with a shimmering glow. “Ah yes, much better. That will be 7 galleons young man.” Barty handed the man the coins and tore out of the store as fast as his legs could carry him.

Olivia walked into Ollivander's shop very excitedly. She couldn't wait to own her very own wand! She walked up to the counter and Ollivander appeared. "Muggle-born?" he asked her. "Yes." replied Olivia. "I didn't think I had seen you around before." Ollivander said.
He disapeared again into all of the wands and returned with one. Olivia gave it a wave. She smashed an old looking vase on the counter. "No, not that one, lets see... try this one." Ollivander handed Olivia another wand. She gave it a wave and blue sparks flew from the tip of the wand. "Yes much better, 9 1/2 inches, oak and unicorn hair. That will be 7 galleons please." Olivia paid the money and left the shop.

Paris walked into Ollivander's Wand Shop. Yay! She would finally be recieving a wand of her very own! She had had experiences with wands when she was younger, just about all of them ended up in something blowing up. So she guessed this would be something exciting for her. She would finally learn to Control the Magic herself! Her Own Wand! Wow!
When Paris first walked in, Ollivander was nowhere to be seen. She wasn't exactly sure if he was somewhere in the back of the shop or if it was actually closed, but not locked yet, and she walked straight in, carelessly. She soon got an answer as Ollivander appeared Out from the shelves of hundreds, maybe even thousands (She was not sure) of wands.
"Aahh.. Hello There Miss ..... ?" Mr Ollivander Said
"Bathgate." Paris replied excitedly.
"Ah, Yes I thought so. I remember every wand I've ever sold, I remember when your mother walked in here for the first time, buying her first wand. She ended up marrying a muggle didn't she?" Olivander Asked Paris.
"Yes, she did." Replied Paris, She was interested in what her Mother was like in her Hogwarts years. "She still has her wand?" "Yes, She keeps it in very good condition." Paris Replied, Yet again to Ollivander's question.
"Very Good to hear. Now.. Let's see.. A wand for you, Hey?" Mr Ollivander walked over to the shelves, looking at each wand, picked out a few and came back. He asked Paris to hold each wand, in her wand hand, and give it a little wave. The first wand she tried had a disasterous effect. She caused many boxes of wands to collapse to the ground in which they broke something, she was not quite sure what it was but it looked pretty delicate and old. Paris felt a little shy now that she had broke something of Ollivander's.
"Well, Obviously not the wand, Eh?" Ollivander said after all the loud noise had stopped. He handed Paris another three wands, all in which had similair effects, but sort of different.
Atlast, On the Fifth Wand that Paris had grabbed, she gave it a wave, and it lit up a warm, bright light.
"Perfect!" Ollivander said "10 3/4 inches, Holly and Unicorn Hair. That will be 7 Galleons Please."
Paris was excited that they found her a wand. She didn't want to go through heaps of wands. She pulled out 7 galleons from her bag and left with her wand. How Exciting!

Jodi followed her dad to Ollivander's. She had expected him to be more upset that he had to buy her a new wand, but he appeared to be taking it quite well. Jodi suspected it had more to do with getting to explore the wizarding world then not caring about the extra money. Of her family, her dad was the most comfortable with who she was. Or maybe it was just the excitement she offered. Her dad felt just as trapped in Leadworth as she had. He had never wanted to move there, but because he loved Jodi's mom he had agreed to.
Whatever the cause, her dad loved that Jodi was a witch. And so, she followed him into Ollivander's and walked up to the counter.
"Back again?" A voice inquired from somewhere above her. She looked up to see Mr. Ollivander himself on a staircase, re-arranging the boxes on the wall. Upon seeing Jodi, Mr. Ollivander put up the boxes he was holding and selected a few new ones. "I can only assume you are here because you are in need of a new wand. That seems to be the case with many young people these days. I'd rather you not tell me what happened to yours."
Jodi looked up at the old man warily. He had a way of creeping her out, even though he seemed like a nice enough guy.
"Here," continued Mr. Ollivander, "try these." And so Jodi tried several of the wands he offered her. The first wand she tried shot sparks and smoke out the end. The second shot straight out of her hand the second she tried to take hold of it. But the third wand, the third glowed softly and stirred up a light wind.
"Ahh, Maple and Hippogriff Talon. Yes, good for charms. it should serve you well. That will be seven galleons." Jodi paid him with the money she and her father had gotten from the bank. She thanked Mr. Ollivander and departed the shop for Diagon Alley.

While walking into the shop, Babette noticed a small change in smell. It smelled of dust and wood. She couldn't help, but to sneeze, releasing all of the dust back into the air. A small, old man walked out and greeted her, with a small black box in one of his hands. The box said "White Tree with Phoenix Feather". The old man said "This is the one for you." Babette was surprised at how he knew that that was the one for her. She then immaturely asked "How do you know that?!" "Well, I think it's quite obvious." the mysterious old man said. "That will be 13 Galleons, please." "Okay! Oooh! It's so pretty! Do you make these all by your self?" she said while placing the money on the table. "Why, yes! It's my profession." said the man while sliding the money into his other hand and placing it into the cash register. Babette then walked out side in amazement, and then made her way to the Hogwarts Express.
