walking into the small shop, Severus watched the dust float in little moats.
"Ah, Mister Snape! Please if you would stand here" and then Severus found himself dragged across the small room and was then magically measured. Looking at the magically dictated quill and parchment Mr. Ollivander came back with a small stack of wands, "here" thrusting a wand at Severus, once having in his hand for a second it was promptly taken away. this went on for a few mintues more then Severus found himself with a warm and flickering Yew and unicorn hair wand.
"Ah, i thought so, that will be 10 galleons"
and for once without a frown, Severus paid for his wand.
"thank you." with a small smile he left.

Sabrina walked into Ollivander's shop. "Ah, time for a new wand, Miss St. Clare?" said Mr. Ollivander.
"Yes, sir," Sabrina replied quickly. She hoped old Ollivander wouldn't try to get into a conversation with her.
"I'm surprised your mother didn't come with you," he said, going through some boxes. "Weren't you using her old wand? Here, try this one, it's maple and demiguise hair."
"Yes, I was," Sabrina said quietly. She took the wand that Ollivander handed her and waved it in the air. A small, weak show of sparks erupted from the wand.
"No, no, that isn't right at all," said Ollivander, looking through other boxes. "So how is your mother? Lovely woman, Olivia St. Clare. A fine auror if I ever saw one... Try this. Walnut and unicorn hair."
"She died," Sabrina said flatly, waving the wand Ollivander had handed her. "Last month. Killer by one of them." This time the wand just emitted a short spark.
"What?" Ollivander said in shock. "That... that can't be... I didn't hear about that."
"It wasn't in the papers. The Ministry wanted to keep it quiet to avoid creating a panic." She handed him the wand. "This one isn't right, either."
Still shocked, Ollivander took back the wand and put it back in his box. He stared at the girl for a minute, then said. "Wait... I know. Let's try this." He went and got another box and took out another wand. "Holly base, dragon heartstring," he said.
She waved it and this one gave off a warm glow and a powerful show of blue sparks.
"That one's right," he said. "Seven galleons, please."
She took out the galleons and handed it to him. As she turned to go, he called after her, "I'm so sorry for your loss, Ms. St. Clare."
"Thank you," Sabrina said quietly, and left the shop.

Sirius walked into the wand shop and started talking to the owner.
"May I have a maple and veela hair wand?" He asked.
"Yes, just try it out first." Ollivander replied.
Sirius took the wand and waved it. He got a semi-bright light from it, but he accepted it.
"How much?" he asked.

James walked into the store, excited about getting his first wand. He looked around until the old shopkeeper greeted him. "Ah, Mr. Potter," Ollivander greeted him. "I was wondering when I'll be seeing you in my shop. How are your parents?" "Well, sir," James said politely. "That's good to hear," the shopkeeper said. "Well, I have just the wand for you." He turned and gave James a Yew wand with Dragon heartstring as its core. "I have been thinking about it since you were born and I think this is your wand." James took the wand in his hand and immediately felt the sensation going up his arm. He smiled and looked up at Mr. Ollivander. "I think this might be the one," James said. "Well, give it a wave," Ollivander said to James. James did as he was told and wave the wand in mid air. The wand glowed a bit before having sparks flying out of it. "Yes, that is your wand," the shopkeeper said, smiling down at James. James paid Ollivaner the 10 Galleons, thanked the man, then left the store.

Mystie had abandoned her shopping outside of the shop. She was positively crumbling under the weight. She was only carrying the small and feeble looking black owl, and a cat of just about the same discription.
"Mr Ollivander?" Mystie enquired, not being able to see him presently. "Mr Ollivan-" She started, but he had just appeared at the counter.
"Good evening Ms Glass." He said kindly, nodding to her. "Good evening sir..." She muttered. She was slightly freaked about how he knew her name. "I'd... like a wand." She said feebly. "Well, you've come to the right place." He laughed, before he turned around and went searching through the wands.
"Try this. It's Mahogany. Leprechaun hair. 10 inches." He said, handing it accross the counter. Mystie waved the wand and virtually nothing happened. It just glowed green for a bit. "No. I didn't think so. That was your fathers wand. I didn't think so." He muttered, disappearing out back again.
"How about this one?" He said, handing across a rather pretty looking wand. The handle was carved with a spriralling pattern, and it had a silvery look to it. Mystie held it... again, nothing happened.
Mystie had the feeling that this was going to take a while. "Oh... I really thought that would be your wand. It was your mothers. Rosewood and veela hair. 13 i-" He stopped. The wand was emitting a bright, lime green light, and stars. Mystie held it away from her face, scared that it might egnight.
"I knew it!" He exclaimed, watchingt he pretty light emitting from the wand. "Definately your wand." "Oh... that's good." Mystie muttered. She was a little scared that the wand might explode, but it slowly died down. "Here..." She muttered, handing accross the wand and the 14 galleons. He put the wand in the box and passed it accross.
"Are you feeling ok Ms Glass?" Mr Ollivander enquired, seeing Mystie's solemn expression. "Ollivander. What was my mother like?" Mystie asked, frowning to herself. Why had she just asked that? "She looked just like you. But she was alot taller, if you don't mind me saying. It was your father that was on the smallish side. Why do you ask?" "No reason. Thank you Ollivander." "Good day Ms Glass."

Haylie walked into the store with a slight smile on her face. She had looked for her brother, Heath, before coming here and she had dumped all her bags on him before leaving again. Upon reaching the counter she looked around. "Mr. Ollivander?" she called out. The old man always had a way of freaking her out a bit.
"Hello dear," he said suddenly appearing out of the clumps of shelves and boxes. "Why, Miss Brennan I haven't seen you since you were about to enter your first year, four years ago."
"Uh..." How could he still remember her name and when he had last seen her, she thought. "Er. Yeah. Well, I need a new wand. Mine broke over the summer."
"Right. Ten inch yew with phoenix feather." he recited as if he would get rewarded for it.
"I guess?" she said, not even sure what her own wand was.
"Yes, yes, yes. Well, let us see here." He thought for a while then turned and disappeared between rows of stacks boxes and shelves. He came back with a few boxes of wands.
"Try this one." He handed her the wand that was from the smallest box.
She held it and flicked it. A box blew up. This went on for another few minutes. Haylie sighed, frustrated and bored. Aren't you supposed to be a professional, she wanted to snap at the old man but she resisted and bit her toungue.
He handed her another wand and she held it in her hand. As she was about to flick it, it cast a bright glow around it. She sighed again, relieved that she finally found the right one.
Ollivander chuckled, "13 inch Rosewood with Dragon Heartstring. That would be 10 galleons"
Haylie handed him the money and waited while he wrapped the wand back up in it's box. "Thank you, Miss Brennan. Have a nice day and good luck with your term."
"Thanks" Haylie mumbled as she grabbed the bag and stalked out.

Luka had been looking forward to this part of his shopping, a wand. He entred the dusty shop just as a girl left with her wand. He stepped up to the counter and a man appeared.
"Ah. A First year, come this way. We'll get your wand for you." Mr. Olivander led the way into a small room, grabbing several boxes as he went along. Handing one to Luka he said,
"Open that up and give it a wave." But before Luka could even raise a foot, Mr. Olivander snatched it off him,
"No. thats not the one. How about this?" Again Luka opened the box and again Mr. Olivander snatched it back before anything could happen. Luka started to worry,
"Mr. Olivander, is there awand for everyone here?" He asked, nervous,
"Of course there is. One boy, I remember, took 33 wands before I got his one right. Took hours!" He laughed, "no worries, now thisis the one!" Luka removed the wand from its box, and felt a warm glow inside. Smiling he gave it a wave. Sparks flew everywhere. This caused Luka to drop the wands in surprise.
"Wonderful!" Mr Olivander excaimed as he scooped the wand up and wrapped it, and its box, in bright blue paper. handing it to Luka he said,
"Now, thats...Oak and Unicorn Hair, 7 1/2 inches so it come to... 7 Galleons OK?" Luka handed him the money and Mr. Olivader vanished as quickly as he arrived. Timana left and headed for the last thing on his list. Potions stuff.

Post by Bellatrix Black on Feb 24, 2007 14:03:11 GMT -5
Bella pulled open the door, sneering at the sound the little bells on the handle made, and stepped inside. As she moved across the floor her feet stirred the dust that had begun to settle. The light pouring in from the store front window played with the dust, and in turn Bella watched momentarily the dust dance on the air. She turned back around and headed toward the counter where she found Mr Ollivander.
"Not again Bellatrix. This is the fourth time you've come to me for a new wand," the old man groaned. His pleasant demeanor overrun by his disgust at Bella's carelessness --or so he thought-- with her wand.
"Yes again," she snapped. "I'm keeping you in business Ollivander. I thought you'd be pleased." Her eyes scanned the different boxes that lined the shelves. "That last one worked marvelously. Something similar I should think."
Mr Ollivander agreed, and forwent measuring the girl, as he had done it so many times now. He placed his finger to his chin and stared at her, thinking. "Ah." He ran off to the back and a few moments later he reemerged carrying a large stack of wand boxes.
He handed one to Bella, who grasped it, but had figured out by now the sensation she was supposed to feel, and flung the wand back at the old man. "Another one," she barked. Again Mr Ollivander handed her another wand, to which she did the same as the first. After several rounds of this Bella grasped a wand and felt a warm sensation spread throughout her hand and up her arm. It was a tingling of sorts, but one she'd only felt in this shop.
"Makes perfect sense." The man was mumbling to himself and he dropped the rest of the boxes he had been carrying onto a table. "Yew with a dragon heart string." He turned to Bellatrix. "Each time you come here, the results are more devastating to me. I hesitate to sell you this wand."
Bella sneered at him, still clutching the wand tightly in her right hand. She threw ten galleons onto the counter, turned around, heading for the door. She pulled it open just as the old man began to speak.
"There is good in you Bellatrix. Show the world." She hesitated for only a moment, before huffing at the air and slamming the door shut behind her.

"Ah, Ms. Buchanan. I've been expecting you sometime shortly." Mr. Ollivander grinned at her. She nodded as he began measuring her.
When he finished, he stuck about ten wands in her hand, hoping for some magic. Finally, the last one worked.
"Mahogany and Phonex feather. 14 galleons." Shanae paid and left.

Ollivander's was the one shop in Diagon Alley that Devin hadn't been to since his first year. Even as a curious first year who was too excited to stay focused he had been intimidated by the store. It was kind of dark and ancient looking compared to those around it. The surrounding stores had flashy colors and the latest merchandise in the large front windows to catch the eye. There wasn't much in Ollivander's to show off, and definately nothing to attract customers. Though it was a mandatory stop, Devin had saved it until last in his first year and did the same now. The inside was just as uninviting and prehistoric as the outside. It smelled like dust, the floorboards were creaky, and it seemed like there should be water dripping from the ceiling. It was a distinctive place, and for some reason Devin felt the need to be in and out as quickly as possible.
Perhaps it was the embarassment of walking in when it was primarily first years who did so. He needed a new wand before he could succeed in any of his classes, why he didn't have his old one was a different story. Devin had accidentally misplaced it in such a way that it stopped working. He left it on a side table in his living room, which coicidentially was right above the pile of firewood. When he had forgotten to pick it up again, that was when it was gone forever. Something, perhaps a breeze, had caused it to roll off the table and land in the midst of the firewood. No one found out until it was too late. Sparks of all colors went off like a firework in the pit. Devin wasn't sure he could look at another display of fireworks without getting a sinking sensation in his stomach.
Though he had liked the old one, much like someone liked a guitar, he would have to replace it. Sometimes Devin had a terrible memory, but this time he knew just what he was looking for. An eleven inch(his lucky number) Rosewood wand with a Hippogriff Talon core. Approaching the counter, he gave a warm smile and awaited his turn. Mr. Ollivander had to look at him twice, but still he greeted him with a kind grin and addressed him.
"Needing a wand, Mr. Reed?"
"That I do, Mr. Ollivander." He replied with a sheepish smile. "Eleven inch Rosewood, Hippogriff Talon core, if you would."
"Of course," the elder man moved swiftly for someone of his age as he, obviously comfortable within the walls of his own store, hurried to the back of the shop and flew through his storage. Soon he returned with the order, the same smile on his face. "Here you are." Devin exchanged the wand for ten galleons, spun on his heel, and exited back into the busy streets of Diagon Alley.[/color]

"Miss DiCostas," Ollivander said, a gentle, grandfatherly like smile on his face.
"You know my name?" She asked, unsure how he had done that.
He nodded. "Of course I do. Step over here."
In the process that followed, she thought she was being fitted for a wedding dress. She couldn't even guess why he needed some of the measurements he did, but she didn't question it.
"Here," he said at last, putting a wand in her hand.
She looked at it, then at him. "What am I looking for?" she asked.
He didn't answer, but shook his head and handed her another wand instead.
The third one was the right one, and if that's what magic always felt like, Rayne was hooked.
"Cherry and Unicorn hair, seven galleons."
