Fashionably Late

Rikanadad stepped up into the train and headed down the isle until she found a compartment and settled down into her seat running a hand through her curly hair and tossing her head from side to side to loosen it up before she looked out of the window and waved goodbye to her father, the only member of his family that had showed up to bid her fair well on her trip to school. She was pretty sure he would be the only one she would miss. She closed her eyes and rested her forehead across the the cool glass taking a deep breath wondering for a moment what the upcoming year might bring. She hoped that she would have fun and that maybe just maybe she could avoid the boredom that always seemed to be threatening to crash around her. She just wasn't sure that her final hope was possible but if she wasn't bored for most of the year she would consider it a victory. Besides she already knew that she would bored for pretty much half the classes especially if it was something easy.

[Dillon Alex]

Dillon walked down the isle until he finally saw someone else on the train. He slid open the door and looked at the girl. "Do you mind if I sit here" he asked pointing to the seat across from her.

Rikanadad shrugged turning away from the window almost reluctantly but smiling none the less. "I have never turned down company." Ok so if the person was being idiotic she might leave but she wasn't going to make a rash decision about someone before she even got to know them.
"So whats your excuse?" she said totally out of no where leaning towards him clearly interested in whatever he might have to say.

[Dillon Alex]

"What as to why I am coming so late in the year? I had to transfer my old school uhh...didn't want me anymore." Dillon said with a nod. "What about you...whats your excuse?" He asked trying to change the subject. He had actually gotten expelled from his last school. He didn't really like to talk about it.

"I made a teacher cry and she just happened to be the headmaster's favorite little sister... and then I just had to take an extended vacation the beach beaconed and my parents couldn't bare to part with me..." Ok so her father loved having her around her mother was still trying to get her into a boarding school in northern Siberia for some strange reason."I guess daddy just wanted me closer to home." It was funny how different her parents opinions of her were. "So what did you do."

[Dillon Alex]

Dillon laughed "Nice work. I uhhh...well haha actually...what didn't I do. My brother and I we did pretty much everything you can think of...and when it came down to it...I told them it was all me." He thought about everything and he did miss his brother but it had been his brother's last year so he knew it was best if he didn't have to start over.

Rikanadad flashed him her most charming smile "thats really great of you, though you really must learn not to get caught." She had done quiet a few things that got her into trouble and even more that would have if she had gotten caught for them but she had mostly just done those things to fend off the boredom when it got to be too much.

[Dillon Alex]

"Yeah...I know...but...when they figured out one thing was us...they knew it all and it went from there." He said looking down at his shoes. He tilted his head up at the girl and smiled. "So how old are you anyways" he asked.

Rikanadad thought for a moment "Well it really depends on the day and what I feel like admitting to." People didn't usually ask her her age they just believed what they wanted to believe. She chewed on a corner of her nail trying to figure out what age she felt like being that day or if she should just admit to her own it wasn't like this was an occasion that she had figured out in advance like parties.

[Dillon Alex]

Dillon blinked at the girl. "Well...the may I know your name" he asked with a smile. "I'm Dillon by the way, Dillon Alex." He said with a sort of bow.

Rikanadad pretended to be thinking for a moment "Well I guess you can know that... It's Rikanadad Brean...oh and I'm thirteen." She knew that her first answer had been a bit confusing and so decided to make up for it by answering them both at one time.

[Dillon Alex]

Dillon laughed a little at her response. "So your a third year" he asked thinking.

[anadad]

Rikanadad nodded and a slight smirk mixed with her smile, "Yes I am whats oh so funny." She didn't know what part of her response he was laughing at and she wasn't particularly found of not knowing things.

[Dillon Alex]

"Well I am a fifth year" Dillon said looking around, it was getting dark. "Hey I wander if we are close" he said thinking aloud.

[anadad]

"Wow that means you lasted four years without getting kicked out." Rikanadad said happily before she too looked out of the window "I hope so, I don't want to get there too late." The last thing she wanted was to miss dinner but she figured if that was unavoidable she could cope but arriving when everyone was doing the homework due the next day would be utterly horrid.

[Dillon Alex]

"Hey I see it" Dillon said pointing out the window. "What house do you think you will be in" he asked just to kill the last few minutes. He turned around and looked at her.

"I don't know...probably Slytherin its where everyone else in my family has been."...except her mother Rikanadad added silently as she looked out the window "But it might be Ravenclaw if not that." Not to brag but she knew she was smart but she also knew that she got bored way too easily for Ravenclaw to be her first probability.

[Dillon Alex]

Dillon grinned "yeah...I will probably be in Gryffindor" he said. He thought about it for a few seconds. "Will you still talk to me if thats where I end up...you know the rivalry between the two houses" he said looking at her. He grinned slightly at her wondering what her response would be.

"Duh...rivalries can be so stupid." And Rikanadad was pretty sure that she wouldn't be good at it. She liked people too much to limit herself like that. Not to say that she wasn't proud of her heritage or anything she just wasn't some shallow oh I will only be friends with those few. Besides her biomother was a muggleborn after all.

[Dillon Alex]

"Well here we are" Dillon said as the train came to a stop. "Well shall we" he said as he stood up and opened the door. He waited for her to go first.
