"Assuming my family doesn't literally lock me in the tower when I tell them I'm moving out, I will be there." she grinned.
"Now I just have to find a place."

"Finding a place won't be too difficult with your resources." Bellatrix wasn't speaking strictly of money, though the Montgomery fortune could certainly procure Christine a lovely home of her own. Bella had also given Christine the ability to take what she wanted and if she found herself hungering for the power and control Dark Magic provided, Bella was certain Christine could use her new skills to her advantage.
"But I don't see why you would bother telling your family. I mean, at least until after you've left. They had you under lock and key when you weren't planning to move away. What do you think they would do if they knew you had plans to not return?"

"They'll accept my decision." she said with a somewhat confident smile.
Montgomerys were stubborn, but they were also honest and direct when it came to family. Confronting her parents head on that she was leaving would make them angry, but they would give in. Sneaking out behind their backs however would not only cause them to dig in their heels, but it would also hurt and disappoint them.

The Blacks were very different from the Montgomerys. Bella didn't quite understand why Christine would bother to talk to her parents about her plans. Bella certainly wouldn't have done so with her parents and if she had her father would have chastised her wasting his time talking about something she wanted to do instead of actually doing it. Her parents were very supportive of her choices, but left Bella and her sisters to make their choices on their own. And if they made the wrong choices there would be hell to pay. Her sister Andromeda was case in point.
"Well you let me know if anything goes awry and I'll come bust you out," she said with a wink. She knew Christine wouldn't let it come to that. She didn't know her family wouldn't let it go there either.

"It won't come to that, luckily if it does, I think you've taught me well enough how to escape on my own." she assured Bella. They did have very different families, although she knew that the society she lived in, particularly the class she was privilege to, had very different ways of coming to family decisions.

Their conversation went on from there, shifting away slightly from the topic of dark arts and the "grey" matters that Christine seemed to enjoy. As they finished their meals and left the restaurant, Bella said goodbye to her "friend".
"Be expecting an owl from me soon." She gave a delicate wave as she turned and strolled away, her large spellbook weighing down her bag which she held by the crook of her arm.
