"Brilliant." He smiled naturally, glad to see that Christine was relatively happy with the arrangement thus far. It was at that moment that someone knocked on the door and a man's voice could be heard, announcing room service. Dorian slipped his hand into his pocket to grip his wand as he gave a look to Lex. "Care to get that?" This would be a perfect test to see if she remembered which of the hotel staff were cleared for admission into the room.

"Sure thing boss." she quipped. Dorian wasn't technically her boss. He was a more seasoned auror and therefore her "superior" but it was more his demeanor that encouraged her teasing.
Lex was a pretty good judge of character, and while it was obvious that her half-brother was a very serious individual, he had a good heart.
Lex used the same spell Christine had been using to check the identity at the door, seeing that the man was the same one that Dorian had showed her earlier she opened the door her hand on her wand just in case.

Christine, feeling rather confident and at ease with her two body guards, moved to answer the door when Dorian told Lex to get it. She stopped then and drew in a breath, for a few moments she had forgotten that her guests weren't just guests. There was a serial killer on the loose, and while he didn't have her hotel key she knew the killer had watched her and at times it felt as if they were watching her still.
She sighed as reality fell around her adding weight to her shoulders before going to the couch to sit down.

As Lex moved toward the door and Christine toward the couch, Dorian moved to stand slightly closer to Christine under the pretense of clearing a space for the tea. He glanced at Lex, who had her back toward them and was using a spell to check who was at the door. They had only a few minutes without eyes on them, and he would take advantage. He rested his hand on hers and gave a tender smile. "How are you holding up?" he asked gently.

"I'm alright." she answered him, she was toying with a piece of string between her fingertips lost in thought. "She's nice. Kinda Sassy. I like that. Someone else to give you a hard time." she teased.
Merlin help her she adored the man next to her, but she wondered if he would be okay sometimes. He could give her unrivaled passion, and certainly he was a full blooded man, but who was he outside of their passion? Did he lock it all away? She had a sinking suspicion that he did.
"I keep worrying that I'm going to mess up, say something or do something I shouldn't."

He was fine with Christine "giving him a hard time," as she put it. He could be somewhat more at ease when he was with her and he wouldn't want her to be anything but herself. And while Christine might think fondly on the idea of him having a bothersome partner, he wasn't too keen on it. However, he grinned at her, knowing she was teasing him.
"Don't worry. There won't be many moments like this," he assured her. Aside from shift changes, which wouldn't take too long, he couldn't really imagine any reason for the three of them to be in the same room. This meant that when they were together, they could just be in the moment with each other. The aching he felt to kiss her would be alleviated. "I'm sure you'll have no problems when I am not around to distract you."

"I happen to like the way you distract me." she replied with an all together too hot look. She enjoyed teasing him as well. Though admittedly it wasn't the right time. Recalling his partner in the room she schooled her features and once she heard the door shut moved to help Lex with the tea.

Lex caught the look Christine gave to Dorian though she averted her gaze keeping the information to herself and pretended to be busy with the tea. She thanked the attendant and tipped him before bringing the tea over.
Christine came over to help and she gave a quick smile.
They set the tea up properly and Lex looked between the two of them, "Well now isn't this lovely."

He wished Christine hadn't given him that look. He felt a tingle run down the length of his body, but as Lex was returning he straightened himself and forced a pleasant smile. Dorian lifted his cup from the tea tray and sat back into his chair, crossing one leg over the other. He felt he needed to say something, but was still trying to put Christine's look out of his head. "I hear Kenmare's favored to win over Puddlemere United tomorrow." He paused briefly, and then with a sigh he added, "sorry. I am rubbish at small talk." He gave a defeated smile at the two of the them.

Christine and Lex shared identical expressions when Dorian mentioned the sports teams, they simultaneously laughed as well when he admitted that he wasn't good at small talk.
Christine wanted to take his hand and nudge his knee, it was almost second nature to tease him and follow up with a soft look or touch letting him know that she found his "quirks" enjoyable, but she wasn't able to. She reached for her tea instead.
"That's alright. How's the investigation coming along?" she asked more seriously about a topic they could talk about. Not specifics of course, and not as much as Dorian might have told her in private, but at least it was conversation.

Lex was observing and taking cues from Dorian on how she was supposed to interact with "the witness", but she wasn't the silent type. She had been "locked up" for what felt like an eternity, when her father disappeared and she was able to "escape" she found she rather enjoyed the world and being a part of it. She enjoyed getting to know people. She enjoyed talking to people.
She looked at Dorian for his response to Christine's question.

He was glad he could make Christine laugh, and Lex too he supposed. If his inability to have a light conversation was good for anything, he was glad it was bringing smiles to the faces of pretty women.
At Christine's question he thought for a moment. He didn't want to give Lex the idea that she could blurt out all the facts they'd gathered thus far, though he suspected she knew better than that. But this was at least a common topic for the them, and would get them through tea at which point he could leave this awkwardness behind. "We've got a few leads," he answered cautiously. "And we've narrowed down where we believe your room key may be." This was a lie, but he wanted to give her some comforting news before he left.

Christine nodded, she felt a twinge of guilt about the hotel key fiasco. Briefly she wondered if she was taking up Ministry resources being protected like she was when the killer did not have her hotel key. She reassured herself with the knowledge that she had felt the killer's presence, she knew she was being watched, and she reconciled that soon enough they'd move on, she wanted time with Dorian. Yes it was selfish. No she didn't care.
"Well, that's good news then."

Lex observed Chrsitine's reaction not thinking much of it, she'd learn more about "normal" behavior as she spent more time with the girl. For now her unconcern just appeared to be bravado.
"Don't worry Ducks, we'll take care of you."
She said reassuringly looking at Dorian.

Dorian checked the time and realized he needed to be going. There was a meeting he was required at, and it would be bad form to arrive late. Setting his tea cup on the tray, he rose from his seat. "Thank you for the tea, Miss Mikaelsen. I'm afraid I must be going." He looked to Lex and said softly, "notify me immediately should there be any troubles."
He could feel his worry course through his veins as he left the hotel. Christine had stayed at the hotel alone for a few hours while he had gone into the office to review the plan and wait for his partner to arrive. So leaving her now, with Aleksandra on duty should have been a welcomed peace of mind. However, as he stepped into the lift and made his way down to the lobby a knot tied itself in his stomach. Christine was no longer under his direct protection. The killer was out there somewhere, he'd had no luck getting Christine to move to a safe house, and now he was leaving her for the rest of the day. Dorian knew that his work would suffer today as his mind was here in the hotel. When it came time to go home, he would actually have to go to his home lest Lex discover his ulterior motives in this case.
