Leyla smiled at the blonde girl. She looked really familiar but she was sure it was just because she'd seen her at Hogwarts. She seemed very interested in Toby by the way she kept looking at him and that was good. She wondered if he oblivious brother noticed it at all. Probably not.
"Same here. It's nice to finally meet you." She said, although she was exagerating a bit. Toby had only talked about her the one time. He refused to comment on any question Leyla had about the blonde afterwards. Samantha didn't need to know that.
"I love camp! It's so much fun. And I love all the fresh air. It's so much nicer than being stuck at home, right Toby?" She looked to her brother with a huge smile. She wondered if he'd been enjoying himself at all. Again, she doubted it. She always wished he would be a little more social and active but that wasn't Toby and she tried to accept that the best she could.

For Toby, whether he was home or here or somewhere else, it didn't make much difference. He'd be miserable at home, he was miserable here, he'd probably find a way to be miserable anywhere. But this place did have one advantage--Leyla was here. And anything that could make her smile like that was worth whatever he had to deal with. And maybe this wasn't so bad... after all, it did have another good thing going for it. He looked shyly between his sister and Samantha. He had thought when this moment came that he'd be humiliated. But he wasn't. Somehow, it felt... right.
"As long as you're happy, that's all that matters," he said, flashing a quick smile at her. "The summer sun seems to be agreeing with you. You have more color in your cheeks."
He looked back at Samantha, trying to figure out a way to bring her into the conversation. He wasn't very good at that, but he felt like he should try. "Er... did your sister also come, Samantha?" he asked stiffly.

Samantha couldn't help but smile at the way he was with his sister. When he smiled at her, it was real. She hadn't seen him smile much before, if ever, and seeing it now was astounding. It made her think of her own brother and how distant the two of them were. She wished she could have a relationship with him like they do. He asked her about her sister then and she found a grimace.
"Yeah, Harmony came. I haven't seen much of her though. She's been practically stalking some boy all summer." She said rolling her eyes. She didn't mention the fact the she was doing the same thing with Toby. Leyla didn't need to think she was a creep.

Toby actually wasn't at all interested in her sister or what she was doing. Samantha didn't seem particularly interested in talking about her, either. But he had no idea how to keep both Samantha and Leyla occupied with the same conversation. In a perfect world, he could get the two of them talking about something together and he could just sit and listen and nod occasionally. After all, they were both better talkers than he was. But Leyla and Sam had virtually nothing in common--except for him, that is. And he definitely didn't want them to talk about him.
"Er... since you went to camp last year, maybe you can tell us where all the cool places to hang out are," he suggested. Ugh, he sounded so awkward. But he was trying. Even Leyla would have to appreciate the effort.

Leyla smiled widely as her brother complimented her. She hadn't noticed that she had gotten some color since they got to camp. It was nice to hear that she had. She was always too pale for her liking, despite the amount of time spent outdoors. Leyla kept quiet for a minute because she was more interested in watching Toby converse with a girl. It was facinating to her. But as he continued with the conversation she realized he was feeling awkward. He was trying to kept it flowing but he wasn't very good at social interaction. Even when talking to Leyla he didn't always know the right thing to say. She'd gotten used to rambling on a bit so he wouldn't have to try so hard. Now she'd forgotten that in hopes to see some attraction towards Samantha. The fact that he was trying was a good thing. It meant he was interested or at least cared enough to make her feel comfortable. But Leyla decided to save him from that.
"You have a sister?" She began, looking to Samantha then. "I'd always wanted a sister. No offense Tobe, but there are just some things only girls can talk about. Do you have any other siblings?" She looked at Samantha eagerly, hoping she wasn't a socail shut in like her brother. It would make this a lot more difficult.

Samantha smiled at Toby and tried to remind herself not to be too flirty in front of his younger sister. That would be more than a little awkward. She pretended to think about his request and shrugged.
"I don't know. It'd be much more entertaining watching you try to fly a kite." She said, remembering one of the activites from the previous year. They were big on including muggle things into camp. She generally hated it because she didn't see the point of doing things the "muggle way" when they had perfectly good wands to do it for them. "The lake is always fun though. In this heat, I spend most of my summer lakeside."
She looked to Leyla then who was trying to ease some of the attention off Toby. She noticed after she started talking that he looked a little awkward and felt almost guilty. She knew if she weren't around it wouldn't be as bad. Surely he wasn't like this when it was just Leyla.
"I have two sisters, actually, both younger. Harmony is a Slytherin as well and she's going into her fourth year. My youngest sister, Janelle is going to be starting Hogwarts this fall. I doubt she'll be put into Slytherin like the rest of us. She has a very...colorful personality." That was one way to describe her sister. She wasn't like Sam or Harmony. She didn't listen to the values their parents taught them. She saw things in a happier light. "I also have an older brother named Randall." She didn't elaborate on him much because there wasn't much to say. He was following in their father's footsteps and that was a conversation she wasn't about to bring up around Leyla.

Toby was relieved when Leyla took over. He was trying, but this really wasn't his thing. It was one thing to talk one-on-one, but to try and talk to the two of them together, making small talk, was just too much for him.
Instead, this gave him a chance to listen. He could learn more about Samantha without having to come up with the questions. He was surprised, for example, to learn about Samantha's other siblings. He knew about Harmony, of course... she was hard to miss. But she'd never mentioned having an older brother or a little sister. He wondered whether it bothered her that her little sister was not likely to be in Slytherin. He had been disappointed that Leyla wasn't in Slytherin, but only because it made it harder to keep an eye on her. He just wanted her to be happy.

Leyla listened to Samantha, engrossed in what she was saying. She'd always wondered what it would be like to have more than one sibling. She adored Toby to no end but she'd always been curious about having a sister. She never considered having a troubling relationship with a sister because her relationship with Toby had always been so solid. She sometimes forgot that most siblings didn't get along as well as they did. As she listened to the way Samantha talked about her brother and sisters, she realized she had what was considered a normal relationship with them.
"Your sister must be really excited to be joining you at school next year." Leyla said, remembering when Toby had left her at home to attend Hogwarts. She had never been happier than on her first day at Hogwarts, even thought she was sorted into a different house than her brother. She was happy with Ravenclaw though and knew she wouldn't belong in Slytherin either. She wondered if Janelle would end up in Ravenclaw too.

Samantha entered the dining hall alone which was rare for her considering she usually had at least one person with her at all times. Ever since things went bad with Rafe, either one of her Male friends or her Brother was always near by it was strange to see the brunette by herself.
Taking a glance around she realized there weren't many people that she knew though they knew her soley as the Slytherin Champion. Sam rather liked that tiny bit of mystery and notoriety mixed into one but it made things slightly awkward when most of her "friends" didn't go to camp this year.
