He was too nice. It made her feel conflicted. She had never before questioned Mateo's judgement. This might have been a first, and she didn't like the way it felt. But he sure as hell was going to hear from her tomorrow. This was not okay.
"Ahh... no. We are not. Mateo can cook well, but I don't think he particularly enjoys it. Gio... my other brother, and my papa couldn't find their way around a kitchen if they tried." She inserted a small laugh here, trying to let go of thinking of Shana. It was hard when she was face to face with Dante, though. "Why don't you choose where we go then? Or, why don't we just go out?"

"Ah, see now that changes things a little. I do know a place that's pretty good--still not as good as Mum's, mind you, but not bad. But they don't deliver. It's actually pretty close to here... Galligan's. I discovered them recently, and it's really the only place in the area that even comes close for Italian food. Of course, if you don't want Italian, I do know a few other places in the area..."
He smiled at them both. He was happy that the shop was fairly close to the Leaky Cauldron. It meant that he could keep an eye on the girls during his breaks. His father might have disowned Gabby, but Dante had certainly not.
