"I like that," he smiled, squeezing her hand, pulling her closer for another kiss, letting his free hand go into her hair. He felt like a weight had been lifted off his chest, the elephant in the room gone now.
He pulled away when a thought struck him. "Your dad is going to kill me when he finds out..." Dec bit his lip. "I mean literally kill me..."

Naturally, Gabriella wished that this would have happened earlier, but then again things happen when they are supposed to. Of course it seems like it usually is horrible timing but things happen for a reason that might not be immediately apparent.
She happily kissed him back. When he pulled away, she raised an eyebrow, then laughed. "Don't worry about Padre," she said shaking her head. "He's not going to find out right away, besides I'm pretty sure he doesn't think of me as his daughter anymore. If he had his way he would probably blackened me out of the family tree." That thought caused her to frown. "But either way, you'll be okay. I promise. He won't kill you. After all Madre likes you and even more hell would break loose if anything ever happened to you, trust me."

He squeezed her hand. "He came around for your brother right, he'll come around for you, just give him time..." he smiled as her and kissed her forehead. "I'm glad about this, about us," he said quietly. He couldn't believe now how he had never realized his feelings for Gabriella, but now they had figured it out, he didn't want to let go.

As a response, Gabriella shrugged her shoulders. Yes, her father may come around, but that was going to take a lot of time. She wasn't expecting him to run into her shop or apartment anytime soon with open arms ready to take her back into the family. "We'll see how long it takes him. Until then, I have more things to focus on." She smiled and squeezed his hand.
"I'm glad about us too. Everyone always thought we were together to begin with." She let out a laugh. "Even Madre questioned me about it not too long ago."

"She used to ask me all the time," he laughed. "She'd always give us that look too, you know, when we would watch films at your house. she'd look in and smile like she had a secret." Declin shook his head. "Guess everyone knew except you and me for the most part."

Picturing her mother asking Declin about the two of them caused Gabriella to shake her head. "Figures," she said with a laugh. "That's how it usually works out. Everything is always obvious about everyone else, but you can never see it when it's you."
She smiled and then squeezed Declin's hand. "I'm sure that Madre would be proud. Dante, I'm pretty sure he'd probably ask you a series of questions." This moment made her forget about the issue back home. Everything seemed to be going right for the time being.
"Why don't you go ahead and help me decide on something for dinner before Sedona gets home? I'm not exactly sure where she went, but you can finally meet her if you like."

"Oh god your brother, more people I should be worried about," he cracked a smile though and kissed her knuckles, his eyes brightened up.
"Sounds like a plan," he grinned. "Do you know what you have in terms of food?" he got up from the stool and walked around the kitchen. "The only thing I don't know how to burn is Pasta..."

"The cabinets have quite a few things we can chose from. I think we just grabbed things when we went to the grocers and didn't pay a lot of attention to a lot of it." She smiled and followed him to the other side of the counter.
"As for cooking, I'll let you watch." Gabriella let out a laugh. "I'll teach you how to cook, but until then you are more than welcome to come eat here, or Madre will always feed you." She winked and then opened up the cabinet. "We can have chicken with noodles in a cheesy sauce. That's really easy to make."

"Yeah, I'll just watch," he agreed with a chuckle. "If your mother feeds me anymore she's going to have to roll me out the door. She's stocked my fridge too," he laughed. He was glad he felt comfortable around her again. Declin had always been a shy guy, didn't talk much. But Gaby always got him to speak up.
"That sounds good," he said with a smile.

Clarice would always make sure people were fed, that was for sure. Gabriella laughed. "I'm glad she's keeping you fed. Now I don't have to worry about telling you all the time to eat." She smiled and grabbed the pots and noodles.
"You shall learn how to cook eventually, even if it is just simple pasta." She gave Declin a teasing look.

"You say simple pasta, I say an excuse to burn down my kitchen," he laughed. He watched her pull together the ingredients and sat on the stool, out of her way just a bit.
"Hows the shop going? Successful, I hope," Declan asked.

"Opening day is tomorrow," she replied. "Sedona and I already set up everything before today so that way we could relax before opening day. Everything is perfect I think. The advertising has been good. I called in a few favors with people and got them to slip advertisements everywhere so people can see them." The shop was going to be a handful tomorrow on opening day, Gabriella was sure of it, but she was excited about it nevertheless.
"Neither of us wanted to be stressed tonight. Although I have a feeling I won't be able to sleep. It'll be like feeling like a kid again at Christmas time." She laughed.

"I wish I could come," he said sincerely. Sadly, he was going to have to work tomorrow, Mr. Santino asked for him to come personally and he was hoping he'd no longer be kept in the dark. "I'm excited for you though," he grabbed her hand squeezing it. "It's going to be amazing, you two worked so hard. " He smiled at her.

It was a little different knowing that there was something more between them than just friendship, but she did like the idea of it. "We have, and it's something that we can put pride into."
The shop was something Gabriella was proud of. She knew that her father wouldn't have really approved anyway. She had a feeling that he might have attempted to baby her anyway if Sedona wasn't in the picture. It was better this way.
"You helped out a lot with it too, you know." She smiled. "You helped me with most of the fabric by taking me to get it. You encouraged me to keep going."

He smiled when she thanked him for helping, though he didn't feel like he did much. Gabriella would have probably done it all with or without him being her bodyguard. "Yeah well you and Sedona will be a huge success, I know it."
He saw the water boil with the pasta in it and he got up. "Want me to get bowls and things?" He offered. "Just point me in the right direction."
