Personality: Joey has always felt the need to overcompensate. It's not really her fault, though, as she's had a lot to overcome. She's shorter than most, a girl, the youngest born of 8 siblings. If she didn't fight back and act tough, she would have been torn apart ages ago. She never really let's down her guard, though, and this can be stressful for her and those around her. Getting a smile from her should be viewed as an accomplishment. This girl is tough as nails, and won't take crap from anyone.

History:
It's not surprising that Joey likes to work alone. From the moment she was born (4 weeks premature), Josephine was surrounded by noise and chaos. It was hard to escape that with such a big family. Her Spanish mother, Maria, had complications during Joey's birth, ensuring that Josephine would be the last of the Elwel children.
It was an uneventful childhood, not counting the daily battle for attention. Except for one dark day when Josephine was 4. She remembered it clearly, despite being so young, though she still doesn't really know what happened. All she knows was that the way her father looked at her was like he didn't even know her.
Badys, her very Welsh father,placed under the Imperius curse, came home from work and murdered his entire family. Ardyn, then 8, was injured and had covered Josephine's body with his own. In the confusion, Badys figured they were dead and left the house.
Both children were put into the system, but lasted only days before they were taken out by a pyschiastrist. They were taken to a hidden facility and separated, beginning their training as young sleep soldiers.
Joey was unresponsive for the first couple of days, crying for her brother. But enough punishment cured her of this, and in fact of ever asking for anyone in her life. She learned very quickly to be independent and self sufficient. Despite her size, she showed promise and earned her keep. And though they were in the same program, she rarely saw Ardyn. Joey submitted herself fully to the training.
When the children began to whisper about a rebellion, she was adamantly against it. Only later did she find out that her brother was one of the strongest supporters in it. She stayed away from the talks about it, and would make the other children be quiet if they brought it up in front of her.
After the rebellion, despite her fierce determination, it was decided that she would be released like many of the others. She was too high strung, too small. Too many factors that lead to a life of "despite this..."
She doesn't remember the facility or the training, but she remembers what her father did, and she remembers each of her "episodes," including what triggers them. When she began as a hit witch, she learned how to trigger herself even, because it made her more efficient. She's dangerous because she has nothing left to lose.
Recently, she's been trying to track her father, and Merlin help him when she catches him.
