Ardyn had actually been tracking Simone that night, as of yet unnoticed. He was intrigued by her sudden departure from the pizza parlour, but followed her, and now understood why as he stood back, watching the interaction between three of the people he'd known as children.
What extraordinary luck.
He'd known Siobhan was in the hospital, and with her right under Walter's careful watch, getting to her was going to be harder than getting Dustin out of Azkaban, or so he though. (He really needed to get to Dustin, though, before he was too broken by the dementors).
But Nikola being there was the biggest surprise. He was having a turn of luck, tonight, thank Merlin. It would have only been better if they had Joey with them, but she still managed to keep hidden from him.
For the moment, he stayed hidden, just listening.

This was not what Simone had expected at all. All of a sudden, now she felt like she was the one being conned, and she didn’t like it.
“I told you who I was,” she said, somewhat defensively. “Simone. I just saw you guys in the pizza shop and thought maybe we could go in on a scam together. You look like you’re on the run from something, and so am I.”
She narrowed her eyes at the redhead. There was something about that girl, now that she thought of it. It made the hair on the back of her neck stand up. Even more strangely, a name came to her.
“Siobhan?” she almost whispered.

Nikola's eyes narrowed, though he didn't say anything. Honestly, he'd already spoken enough today and he was exhausted. But the woman had to know that he wasn't asking for her name a second time- he wanted to know what she was doing following them, why she was with them. And it had been a lie to say she'd seen them in the pizza parlour. Siobhan hadn't been there at all, and Nikola knew he had a penchant for disappearing in a crowd. He frowned deeper, but when she said Siobhan's name, all bets were off.
He stepped in front of the girl, making sure that she was safe behind him, and gave Simone his best warning look.

Arden had to admit, he was surprised when Simone whispered Siobhan's name. It was so quiet that he almost missed it, found himself leaning in to make sure he didn't lose any of their conversation.
A lot became apparent very quickly. The women recognized each other. Simone was the first to really show it, but then Siobhan has asked if she knew the woman from somewhere. It was intriguing to him, because up to this point, no one he'd run into remembered anything about their time in the facility.
Unlike the women, Nikola seemed to remember nothing. He was instantly suspicious of the familiarity between the women, and of course, he had to wonder why he was with Siobhan if he didn't remember her, but he was sure the other man didn't. Finding Nikola had been difficult enough because of that- he was a John Doe whenever he did show up somewhere, rarely speaking, rarely making an impression he couldn't escape from. The recognition was not in his eyes, though.

Simone realized now that she was going to have to tell the truth. Or at least as much of it as she could. There were things she didn’t even understand, but something told her deep down that both of them would know exactly what she meant.
“OK, look,” she said still holding her hands up. “I… I don’t know how I know her name is Siobhan. It just kind of… came to me. It’s the same reason I followed you… I saw you in the pizza place and something just told me I needed to follow you. It was like… a gut feeling. I get those sometimes, like there’s somewhere I should go or be or someone I should talk to. And I don’t know you… Or if I do, I don’t remember. I have a lot of memory gaps, and something tells me, you do, too.”

Siobhan, meanwhile, peered around Nikola’s shoulder, trying to study the blonde woman’s face. She was definitely familiar, once again a face she seemed to remember from a dream. As she stared at her, it was as if she could see a faded memory flash before her eyes, of a mischievous little girl with blonde hair and blue eyes.
“I do know you,” she said slowly. “I know you’re not one of them. You’re one of us. But I’m still not sure that means we can trust you.”
She had trusted Nikola instantly, but she wasn’t quite so sure about this woman.
