She seemed so serious about it that he almost could have laughed. It was ironic that the one time she wasn't making a joke at all was the one time he wanted to laugh.
Rutger supposed that he could have argued with her; insisted that there was too much to be done and that he didn't need sleep. After all, he'd gotten about 4 hours the night before. But it wasn't really worth the effort, and besides, he'd clearly be lying. And as long as she didn't expect him to get a full 8 hours, there wasn't really a problem.
"All right, ten minutes," he replied with a slight smile.
He put the key in the lock and walked into his own room. The room was comfortable and well-appointed, like any hotel room. A large king-sized bed sat in the corner. Next to it was a bedside table, which consisted of a lamp, a clock, and a telephone. Just opposite the bed was a large armoire which he knew from past experience in muggle hotels probably contained one of those television things. Next to that were dressers, and on top of them were all sorts of supplies... a coffee maker, an ice bucket, glasses, and other things. Next to where he was standing, of course, was the bathroom, and he was relieved to note that he would not have to share one with Alana. This would cut down on their morning preparation time. At the far end of the room was a large glass door, framed by heavy curtains, and which opened onto a balcony. He frowned at this; balconies were security risks, and he would have preferred not to have one.
Having surveyed the room, Rutger carried his suitcase into the room and laid it out on the bed. He quickly unpacked his clothes, putting most of them in the dresser. He hung his robes in the closet, then unpacked the smaller items--toothbrush, comb, and other personal care items.
The last thing he took out of his suitcase was the large stack of files dedicated to the case. He'd packed every single bit of information that had been compiled about Kryshna, whether by himself or by others who had attempted to handle the case in other countries.
He was going to catch her in England. He could feel it.
